are fp+ transferable within the party

They call birthday button wearers by their first name, and yea after the first time it does get a bit old. You could always enter your 'name' on the customization portion of Magic Bands as something more fitting for their spiel. Use anonymous or RandomMan so when they say 'hey, Random Man, enjoy the ride, it won't be personal at all :).

And the saying the name thing isn't very magical when it's rare that anyone says your oldest's name right. It makes her mad and I wish they'd stop unless they know for sure how to say it.

Yup.

That's been one of the problems that Disney has been concerned about, especially with the possibility of "Talking Mickey" speaking a guest's name.

As I understand the situation at this point, they may soft-pedal (or just squelch) that whole idea with Mickey.

I just use the name, "Honey."

(It's worked for diner waitresses for generations.)

;)

I kind of hope so. I'm not sure of my feeling about "talking" Mickey! I don't think I like it but I feel like I am suppose to.

I had FP+ a few weeks back and DH's name is very easily mispronounced. I tend to be the first to check in with FP+ and all CMs said, "thanks, Kim, go ahead". Then my husband would scan and they would say "thanks Kzzzwp. . .", stumble, realize it would be best to not try to prounouce it, smile weakly, shut up, and then let him through as we all chuckled. He was fine with it, but I can imagine it could really hurt a kid's feelings.

I like the idea of going with a fake name. DH would likely choose Thor, lol!

From what I've heard, the name on the screen is the name from your reservation, not the name you put on the back of your Magicband, so you would have to put that as your first name on the room reservation/package. But I agree, I want to try it out! :rotfl2:

But if it the reservation isn't in your name then I say go for it. Would be fun just to see the CMs faces! :rotfl:

See I just don't know about that because they specially stated that you could remain anonymous or keep your kids names off the bands if you wanted. And the only way to do that is by either putting in a fake name for the band or leaving it blank(which is an option).

And we don't have a reservation, we have a ticket so it can read the name the ticket is assigned to but that's about it.

I really wish I had gone with the fake names for the bands so I'd know for sure which shows up.

Eta- I just remember the first time we ran into the CMs calling the kids by their names, the boys had on the wrong bands because we were issued the gray ones with just a number on them but name still popped up on the screen. So I guess it is tied to who the bands are assigned to.

Although for children you can rename them whatever you want in the system. LOL

But usually someone only puts on a button (complete with name) if they desire to be recognized that day. The magic bands will be a different animal.

Well my children have worn their birthday buttons but the teen didn't really care that her name was on it, she could have done without that......the CM at check in wrote her name on it without asking (took it off our 'celebration note' on the reservation). I guess you could bring a magic eraser and just rub the name off LOL

Oh if I had kids and knew for sure the name on the MB is the name that shows on the scanner I would so be messing with the CMs give them all 7 dwarf nicknames or names from 101 dalmations :lmao:

Seriously though I am thinking of my 82 y/o aunt if there was a way she could come give this little old Italian woman " Hi Mary " :sad2: don't think that would go over well at all Would have to go with Mrs ------- but there's not enough room for it...it would be an interesting interaction

My point really is that you don't have to wear the birthday button at all. If it annoyed you to hear people you don't know calling you by name you could take it off.

With the magic band, you have to use it to redeem fastpass (or will have to very soon).

Maybe I'll misspell my name just to track where my junk mail and spam was coming from.

Oh the mouse will find you no matter what you call yourself  are you testing or avoiding ? I got the invite I got the MB and I get the " do I really want to do this? " mindset several times a day....never felt so emotionally unstable in my life ;) Ridiculous I can make priority/life depending decisions in a career but a silly piece of silicon sets my nerves on edge..yes I have control issues

Not on the invite list--story of my life.

I wouldn't care if CM's only used my first name even though it's completely not necessary. My first name is very common though and I'm not likely to be tracked with only that name.
