I have a too short rider in my party. I got her the same fp+ as everyone else. Can my older daughter use that fp+ or even my niece on the attractions that have min ht. Do you hand them a paper or do they scan your band? Just wonder the specifics.

They scan your band.
You'd have to (temporarily) give your band to the person to whom you are giving your FP+.

This.

And if you did this, I don't think you'd be "cheating" (though I could be wrong).

Although a dad might get a weird look from a CM when his name showed up as Ashley when he touched his band to the scanner. :)

I take it that you've never read or seen "Gone with the Wind."

;)

why would the age matter ? wouldn't just a name come up when the band is touched to the sensor ? so the CM would say " Hi Mary" when its really Jill ?

Well the one girl is 3 and the other is 21.....obvious difference. Didn't know if age showed up. That's all I meant.

Wouldn't you just use the rider swap if there is someone too short. Then three could go on again??

If the FP return slows down enough for CMs to check names on every returning person (once this is rolled out to the masses) they will need to rename it "slowpass".

I still contend you can swap within your party and not one thing will be said.

I may have to go to change my first name on my profile so that every time I ping that band on a sensor orb the poor Cast Member has to say "thank you, Batman."

I'm going to be very annoyed if CM's keep calling me by first name, all day long.

It smells of insincerity, disrespect and smarminess.

Walmart stopped the policy of cashiers calling credit card shoppers by their
names.
People disliked that, and it generated a large number of complaints.

Once you know that a CM can see your name because you are carrying an ID chip,
the "magic" can grow stale pretty quickly.

(Kids might find it fun, but there are also a lot of apprehensive parents
that won't find it appealing that thousands of unknown persons can
see/know/remember their kid's names.)

This just made me laugh!!! And it's Way to early to laugh ;)

Ditto this!

Might seem neat the first time, but then would get to feel very insincere, very quickly. If Disney gets enough complaints about it, I'm sure they'll stop the practice of calling guests by their first name.

Ditto all of that. I just don't like it at all. For all the reasons you stated.

Although I'm sure some technophiles will be along momentarily to explain why I'm stuck in the wrong century.

ITA. I like the idea for something like a character interaction with talking Mickey - but not all day long everywhere I go!

It is already way too slow with kids mucking around or running off and parents needing to chase them down, etc. I've run into that way too many times and its really annoying especially since you have to scan 2x.

And they won't say a word. I'm the main scanner for our party, my kids are long gone into the line by the time I've scanned everyone's bands (and I'm very quick about it). As long as I'm scanning bands = to the party size we are good to go.

And the saying the name thing isn't very magical when it's rare that anyone says your oldest's name right. It makes her mad and I wish they'd stop unless they know for sure how to say it.
