Are FP + times enforced?

I have no idea what a FP+ time even looks like, just want to know how much leeway thereis with the time. Can you be 10 minutes late or is it just the return time?

Yes they are enforced. However, the usually let you in 5 mins before and up to 15 minutes after (but don't plan on that).

yes they are enforced. you absolutely cannot be early. and yes you can be turned away if you are late.

the window of time is very generous. you need to make sure you coordinate ADRs with FP + return times as well.

When we were there 2 weeks ago, they were absolutely enforcing the FP+ times. They were not allowing anyone to enter the FP+ line early - not even by a minute. I cannot speak to whether or not they were allowing people to enter the FP+ line after their FP+ window ended, as I didn't encounter that scenario first-hand. But, based on my experience with the early people, I gather they would not let you enter late, either.

In a nutshell... you have a one-hour window in which to enter the FP+ line - no more, no less. If the Mickey Scanner turns green - enter. If the Mickey Scanner turns blue - no entry.

And, yes, people were arguing with the CM about why they should be allowed early entry into the FP+ line... and, no, the CM did not back down.

I've been told this by multiple cast members and had no issues last weekend returning for FP+ 5 minutes early on 3 separate occasions.

Note: This information is for rides where you have a 1 hour window. Shows have a shorter window and the grace periods are likely very different. For instance, if you showed up 15 minutes late for a Voyage of the Little Mermaid show, you'd miss your show time. That show gives you a 10 minute FP+ return window which starts 15 minutes prior to the show time and ends 5 minutes before the doors open for the show.

Can't confirm the late part, but replying to confirm the 5 minutes early as well.

I told my party about the 5 minute rule, so we decided to give it a shot in Epcot. Worked with all three FP+s. All three times we tried somewhere between 1-5 minutes early, and the Mickeys turned green.

I did see people being turned away for being late, but I have no idea how late they were.

We were turned away at primeval whirl for being one minute early. Told us if the Mickey was blue couldn't enter.

We entered 5 minutes early three times the past few days. The Mickey always turned green, no problems. We went by the Fast pass clock at the attraction.

That's very strange. I've been 4 minutes early for that exact attraction before and didn't have any problems entering. Just last weekend on my vacation we entered Expedition Everest in that same park about 4.9 minutes early and had no issues. We also had no issues at 4.9 minutes early at Peter Pan and Toy Story Midway Mania. So 3 different FP+ attractions at 3 different parks let us in within the 5 minute early grace period.

I assume that they can set the machines to turn green in any manner they choose. Perhaps some are set to accept guests 5 minutes early and others are not. We witnessed several groups getting Blue Mickeys one minute early and they were told to stand aside and wait. Others in this thread are reporting a 5 minute grace period and I have no reason to doubt what they report. So there is clearly an inconsistency among the Mickeys which is probably intentional and programmable.

Due to Frontierland parade traffic, I was about 10 minutes late for a BTMRR FP+ and had no problem...

Exactly - I think we're going to find that it is going to be hit-or-miss with this "grace period."

The 5 minute early rule has always worked for us. Not sure what happens if you show up late, we're usually just waiting around impatiently for our FP+ window so we haven't had that issue yet.
