Are fast passes for Expedition Everest running out?

As I was sitting here thinking about plans for next week, I was wondering about FP for Expedition Everest. We plan to get to AK near opening this Sunday. We will more than likely head to EE and grab a fast pass. BUT we only plan to be in AK until very early afternoon (it gets SO hot in this park). What do you think our chances for a decent return time may be? I only ask this because I have watched Soarin' passes go like hot cakes this past Thanksgiving. By early morning, the return times were after 5 pm! Yikes!!

Thanks for any information,
Karen

Considering it's a weekend day, I don't think the chances are very good, unfortunately. People are going insane over that ride. But you never know. Won't hurt to try and get a fastpass and at least see what the return time is.

If you have 45 minutes to spare, you might just want to consider going directly to the ride as soon as you get in the park, and wait in line instead. Then you can have the rest of the day to do whatever you want. Just an option.

The thing to know about EE is that it carries many MANY more guests much faster/sooner than Soarin'.

AND while Soarin' is a ride that EVERYONE from elderly Aunt Bess to cute little Katrina will ride.
EE (although it is not ROUGH at all) is still a "coaster" and therefore many guests decline to ride it.

SOOO...
even when there are lots of guests clamoring to get FP for EE... the ride can "swallow them up" much faster than Soarin'... so the there can easily be many more FP issued, and their return times can be much sooner.
As well as a much faster "shorter" standby line (unlike Soarin'), so many folks don't bother with taking FP's... they just line up, sometimes over-and-over.

:thumbsup2

We arrived on Saturday about noon, and our groups FPs for EE were for 4:40pm. Not sure when they ran out, but at 4:40 the FPs were gone and the wait was 70 minutes.

(PS I did not ride, but DD9 did with her friends and one set of parents!)

Hi Karen, guess we'll be in a foot race with you and others this Sunday. We are leaving this Friday. Saturday will be an MK day, and like you, Sunday will be an AK day. We plan to get to the gate by 8:30AM, thru at 9AM, and straight to EE where we will grab an EE FP, and then ride EE standby. After that we will head to DinoLand. I and DW will have four boys with us (16, 14, 11, 10). Say hello if you are not too out of breath!

If you get your EE FP near opening, it should still be morning when it's window opens.

Fastpasses were gone around noon on Saturday, May 13. 11:30 return time was 4:00 - 4:55.

We were at AK the Sunday before Memorial Day. We got there about 30 minutes before opening, and there was already a pretty long line at each turnstile. Anyway, after we got in we went straight to EE and only waited about 5 minutes. Later in the afternoon, around 2 or 3 o'clock, we tried to get a FP so we could ride again, but the return was 7:30 to 8:00. So I imagine they were about to be out of FP's. Why not ride first thing and then pick up a FP right after? By the way, we didn't pick up the FP. It was HOT and were outta there by 3:30! What is it about AK that makes it so hot? I've read about how it's the hottest park, but it seems like there is more shade there. :confused3

I know fastpasses aren't dispursed during the EMH hour, but I plan on going to AK on Mon, 10/2 when they are having EMH from 8-9. I'm wondering if I will have any luck riding EE at that time.

Great plan - but may I suggest you get straight in the standby line and get a FP for another ride when you come off? That is what we did and it was great, as we walked straight through the line and onto one of the first few trains of the day. Our return time for the FP was 10.45 which meant we could go on Kilimajaro Safaris and do the Pangani Forest Trail and Maharajah Jungle Trek before going back on Everest :)

Just seen that was suggested above as well - sorry!

Arrive at the gates by at least by 7:30am and be a part of the earliest to enter. You will be able to ride EE during AM EMH, probably more than once.

In line with what Robo said in the earlier post:
Funny about EE--we got there at about 10:00 AM on a Thursday morning (in May) and found only a 15 minute wait IN THE REGULAR LINE!! And it was a walking wait at that--just moved right on thru with nary a chance to read and see all the great stuff on display. We could have easily gotten on a second time--except the backward part of the ride had given me a big headache so I wanted no part of a second trip.

Is there still a single riders line for Everest? My wife and step-son won't go on it, so that would be perfect for me.

Yes there is, it is not marked like Test Track's though. You have to go up to where the fastpass entrance is and ask the CM for a single rider pass. :thumbsup2

During the morning EMH you can get a FP it just won't have a return time until after the park opens for everyone. So you could go in and grab a FP and then ride EE standyby, then just go do other things until between 9:30 and 10 when the FP will probably be available.

We will also be there on Sun. 8:30. Heading straight for EE to get in line then grab FPs. for a later ride. We have never stayed in AK past 3:00 I think we will leave a little earlier this time and return to see what its like in the evening.

That would work except we want to get a Safari FastPass at 10AM or so. We need to get the EE FP right away so that we can get Safari earlier. Thanks.
