Are AP room discounts ever available on summer weekends?

I do not currently have an AP, so can't check, but am trying to do Disney math to see if APs make sense for our family this year. They are coming out break even without considering a possible summer room discount. Clearly this is a last minute idea, as I am looking at July. Passholder discounts are the only thing still available, and it got me thinking! I would be looking at a value, mod. Or (cheap) deluxe, as my whole family would not be staying. Dates are 7/24-7/27 if that helps. Thank you!

Ran your dates and an imaginary family of four, two adults, two kids age 11 and 7 and the foloowing resorts had availability (I won't include the really expensive theme park view deluxe rooms):

value resorts: all of them except All Star Music and Little Mermaid rooms at AoA
moderate resorts: all of them except the cabins at FW and POR.
deluxe resorts: GF, YC, AKL, studios at SSR, OKW, AKV-Kidani, Poly, Bay Lake and VGF
so it is a good selection for annual passholders or your dates
