Which restaurant has better food?

If you're looking for a unique dining experience, you might want to check out the Pont Dining Room. While it may not be the first restaurant that comes to mind, it's a great spot that offers a relaxed atmosphere and diverse menu options that cater to various tastes. Whether you're looking for a casual bite or a more refined meal, the choices there can fit the mood.
Thanks, where is this located?

You'll be OK at either place. The theming at Yak & Yeti really fits in with the Expedition Everest attraction, while the Skipper Canteen pays homage to the Jungle Cruise.

At Y&Y, the Fried Wontons dessert was memorable, and the Orinoco Ida's Cachapas at SC are authentic Venezuelan cuisine. Delicious!

Hi all. Which restaurant would you suggest for dinner one night - Skipper Canteen or Yak n Yeti? We have a 2 year old with us. We will be spending the day at AK and then either leaving to go to MK or staying at AK. Which of the two restaurants would you recommend? Thank you so much!

I recently had a very good burger and fries at Yak n Yeti! In the past I've had pasta and salads. I recommend it.

Never ate at Skipper's Canteen.

We enjoy both and had many good meals at both. They are very different restaurants. I would look at the menu and decide which you like better. Also, which park will you be at? I wouldn't travel to a different park for either one of the reataurants.

We will be at AK that day. The park closes early so thought about hopping to MK in evening. Its either we do Yak n Yeti lunch or Skipper dinner.

For a 2 year old I might put rainforest cafe in the mix. Yak and yeti is fine but nothing special, and personally I find it a bit salty. Food at RC is of similar quality (ie chain food and highly processed) but the kiddo would have more to look at.

No need to leave AK to go to MK just for dinner. Heck, if you were going to leave and go somewhere else I might take the opportunity to go to AKL for dinner instead because you are already on that side of the property.
I'm intrigued... is there any places you find on property that aren't highly processed? (or at least better than others)

Apparently it's not the greatest to many, but i LOVE it and can't imagine not going every single trip, you should try it, if only for the bread. lol :)

Yak & Yeti without a doubt. It’s my favorite restaurant on property!

We made a trip just so I could get dinner at Skipper Canteen for my birthday... so I have an obvious favorite.

We've done Y&Y many times and it's always been fine, but their options for our particular allergies and food restrictions aren't as great.

Honestly, I like both.

The chicken tikka masala paired with a Yak Attack at Yak&Yeti is my go-to.

The hanger steak at Skipper Canteen is darn good too.
Just had my first Chicken Tikka Masala (CTM) at Yak & Yeti, and was just a little disappointed.
I prefer saffron rice or basmati with my CTM. Also - the garlic Naan was harder and more dry than I get locally, and not as fresh/hot.
Lastly, I prefer the masala seasoning on the “Orange” side, not as “Red” - typically the balance of Ginger and the hotter spices cause this variation in color. I found Yak&Yeti a little too spicy for my liking.
Reference Point - favorite CTM ever is offered at “House of India” in Columbia MD. 😆

To be honest? My opinion is neither. Canteen does nothing for me, and Yak is okay but I have much better tasting options at home for things like curry.

If you want to stay in DAK for dinner I'd suggest Flame Tree Barbecue if you want quality food, or Rainforest Cafe if you are okay with mid food but something with a ton of spectacle for the 2 year old. I am of the opinion Flame Tree has the best non-Epcot park food on property, and while the food may be mid the Rainforest Cafe's animatronics are so much fun my wife and I find ourselves going for the awesome atmosphere despite the fact we're in our 30s.

If you end up deciding to go back to Magic Kingdom to end the night I would suggest if you want quality sit down the Grand Floridian Cafe is just a monorail ride away and has above average food at an "fair for Disney" price. If you are okay with quick service inside the park honestly I would say Pecos Bill's rice bowls are probably the best actual food at Magic Kingdom, because honestly that park does not have great options compared to the other three.

A couple of our meals at Skipper Canteen have been a bit meh. Their portion sizes have always been small. For me, they don't have enough choices on their menu.

We have never had a bad meal at Yak n Yeti. Varied/larger menu. I prefer the atmosphere there. Yak is my pick.

YMMV

I’d go for Skipper’s. Those chicken cutlets look enticing!
