Hello, :mickeyjum
We have booked a trip to bring our children to Disney for a week starting three days from now. We are very excited as parents as this will be our childrens first visit. We however have an infant with us along with our 7 yr old and our four year old. Any suggestions on rides that we might be able to bring the infant on ...Jungle Cruise small world etc???? :confused3 Any advice would be helpful :hourglass Thanks Yall

How small an infant? Newborn or able to sit up? I'm not an expert, but there are several rides that they can just sit on your lap. Many rides are not fast or wild at all. Small World should be fine. Hopefully someone else can add to the list.

Hi John Paul, we took DD when she was 4 months old and to be honest I was dealing with some post partum and didn't take her on anything! BAD MOM! There were 10 of us so we all sort of switched off on what rides we wanted or didn't want to go on. I am of no help :) But I hope you have a great trip.

I think the pooh ride in Fantasy Land at the Magic Kingdom should be okay. Haven't been on it for a while , but if my memory serves right, I recall it being very mild! Have a great time!!! :thumbsup2

Your baby can participate in any rides/shows/attractions that do not have a height requirement. I took my ds the first time when he was 6 months old and he did really well. He was a bit frightened in the Honey I Shrunk the Audience show and the Tough To Be A Bug show but I believe he was feeding off the screams of the children/adults in the audience. He sat happily on our laps for every ride that didn't have a requirement and we did the baby swap on those so we could still experience them. My dd will be just short of 3 this November when we go and I'm more afraid on her being frightened on rides/shows than I was him at 6 months - at that age he didn't know TO BE afraid.

Our DS was 8.5 months last fall when we took him. As posted b4, he can pretty much ride everything without a height restriction. We found that DS didn't do too well on alot of the bigger stuff (The Great Movie Ride, Imagination etc.). The rides are often dark and very very loud. DS did great on stuff like It's a Small World and so-so on the Snow White stuff. We will spend alot more time on these types of attractions on our coming trip.

Good luck and have a great time!

When our DD was 4 months old, she pretty much went on anything without a height restriction. The only time she didn't go on a ride with us was when she was hanging out with Grandma or Grandpa when she was asleep in her stroller.

At 14 months, she was much more sensitive to the "dark rides." She didn't like Peter Pan or POTC on our first day at the parks so we took turns on the rides that we thought might scare her even if she could technically ride along. She also didn't like the 3-D movies on this trip.

John Paul,

We went last September with our 3 kids. Youngest DD was turning 3 mo. during the trip. She rode everything that did not have a height restriction. She spent most of the trip in her Baby Bjorn and we just got on the ride with her in her carrier. She rode: (@ Magic Kingdom) Small World, Pirates of the Carribean (small drop in the ride but didn't bother her), Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion, Buzz Lightyear, Winnie the Pooh, Snow White, Jungle Cruise. At Epcot, Mexico & Norway, a ride in The Land. MGM - Great Movie Ride. We had no trouble whatsoever.

Is your wife breastfeeding? I nursed DD during some of the rides and shows. DH would ask for the back row of rides and I had a nursing cover that I bought at Target. She was nursed on Small World, Pirates, The Transit thing that goes around Tomorrowland, Great Movie Ride, the ride at "The Land" in EPC is long and perfect for nursing. Also, the Baby Care Centers are great!!! Have a great trip!!! I hope this helps.
