I am leaving Wednesday. I just packed my carry-on bag and there are a couple of items I am questioning so I just wanted to get some opinions. They are:

sunscreen
chapstick
eye drops
liquid eye shadow
mascara

Thanks for any input!

Your mascara, liquid eye shawdow, eyedrops and sunscreen must EACH be under 3 oz (bet the sunscreen's more then 3 oz) and be contained with all other liquids under 3 oz in ONE one quart ziptop baggie.

Failure to put them in the baggie probably will result in them being thrown away. Anything that is not medicine or baby food over 3 oz will probably be thrown away.

Thank you! I will probaby forego the makeup, I think I'll survive! :teeth: Then I'll just put the sunscreen into a smaller bottle. The eyedrops are a tiny bottle so they will be fine. I didn't know that I had to put them in a zip-lock, that's good to know. :thumbsup2

In the eyes of the TSA the ziplock in VITAL and it must be a QUART size. (I have no idea what magical properties that has, but...)

Why forego the makeup? Each item you listed is probably only 3/10 fl. oz., if that - so no problem. It'll all fit comfortably in the quart-isze ZipLoc. Naturally, CarolA's most likely right about the sunscreen. Try to get a trial size, or a stick (check sporting goods stores). It sounds like you're taking Magical Express? Otherwise you'd have your checked luggage with you when you get to the the hotel, and there's no limit on the size of checked liquids. Or you can buy one of the small sunscreen bottles on a keychain at your (Disney) resort's gift shop.

I am just paranoid. I would hate to have my makeup get confiscated and get down there and have none. Now that would be a disaster!

Yes, I am taking Magical Express.

The sunscreen bottle I am bringing is actually one of the little ones on a chain from the lobby gift shop at the Beach Club! I am not sure how many ounces it is but I will check before leaving.

Okay, I just want to do a final confirmation that I know what I'm doing with Magical Express as well. I've always done ME with my sister and without her I'm afraid I'm going to get lost!

So, Is this correct? I get off the plane and check to see if I am on the A side or the B side. If I am on the A side I take a tram to the B side. Then, once I am on the B side I go down to the first floor. There I will find the ME check-in desk where I will give my reservation number and they will take it from there. Am I missing anything?

Nope, you take the tram to the main area, overhead you will see BIG signs with A OR B on them. Follow the B sign and go all the way downstairs to the rental car area. ME will be there. It is the first floor.

THANK YOU!!!! When I am driving if I get lost if it is my instict to turn right I turn left and it always gets me where I'm going. That shows you how bad I am with directions. Okay, I will take a tram and then find my way to the B side and the first floor. Is there anyone I can ask if I get lost? I thought I read that the ME people weren't allowed walking around the airport anymore, but I guess I could try to find a security guared to ask? Hopefully I won't still be wondering around the Orlando airport next week at this time. :rotfl: I just copied down everything you wrote onto a post-it note that is going in my wallet.

What makes it through and what doesn't is still very, very random. If it's in the quart size baggie and over 3 oz. they will take it away, even if it's toothpaste in a 4 oz. container with almost nothing left (doesn't make much sense, but rules are rules). If you have the same almost empty toothpaste inside your travel kit and have deodorant and Q-tips in the mix they won't even take a second look at it. Given the numbers of Walgreen's, Eckerd's, etc. near Disney, I'd just plan to buy there for most items.

You are totally welcome. I am also directionally impared, BUT, I do know Orlando airport. :) There is NO possible way you can get lost there, but, should that impossibility happen there are information kiosks and really nice people that will help you.
You won't be wandering around the airport, I promise. Just look up and look for the BIG B, and follow the signs (they really do a great job with signs) for rental cars and ta da, there you are.
Have a wonderful trip. We are having some really delightful weather right now.
:)

You must keep the liquids in the original packaging. It must be labeled with the size of the container. If there is no ounce marking, it will be thrown away. The sizes of all containers are handwritten on your boarding pass (at least in Philly and MCO). Not terribly efficient of you ask me, but that is what they do.

Ohhh...I think you underestimate me! Trust me, I could get lost! :teeth: Glad to hear about the good weather. My sister lives in Orlando and she says it's still really, really hot which I was not looking forward to.

Sizes were not written on my boarding pass at MCO last Friday.

(ANd WHAT DOES THIS ACCOMPLISH??? You take the boarding pass with you so the TSA doesn't have any record or anything... :rotfl2: I think it proves the TSA can write!)

And here's the flyertalk way around the "original packaging" ..... Your bottle of "hotel" brand shampoo has been emptied and refilled with your perferred brand.....

Also SOME TSA agents will allow 'rebottled' stuff in those travel bottles. Someone on this board actually went to the trouble to call the TSA who said that was allowed. (Of course each TSA agent gets to change the rules daily so who knows???)

We flew Friday (10/6) too. Maybe it depends on how busy security is. Since it was only 1 guy at a table, I couldn't imagine what would happen with security lines that went back to the arrival/departures board. Perhaps a course in shorthand (another lost art). We had a 7:45 pm flight, so there were no security lines. I don't know what it accomplishes either, but they did it at both Philly and MCO. :confused3
In Philly, they spent a good five minutes examining my DH's rx for toenail fungus (hope no one was eating) It was in the original packaging with his name.

I made it, I made it! We were in our room at Pop Century just one hour after landing. Everything went perfectly. :thumbsup2
