Are all Disney resort perks fair?

Why so unwelcoming to a new poster? :confused3
IMO, all viewpoints are valid here, even if they happen to be critical of Disney, and even if it's from someone new to the boards. Interestingly, the primary posters over the last few pages of this thread have been with the DIS for many years and have anywhere from a couple hundred to well over 40,000 posts.
I've seen troll accounts that attempt to look like real, new posters, and then start insulting others for being on a "PR" team. So I can see where someone might be mistrusting of a new poster. However no one said they were unwelcoming to all new posters, but I understand why you're saying that. ;)

I've also been called out for being too new to have an opinion so I get that side of it too. I'm sure all people in this thread are considerate to new and old posters though. Yep.

Agreed, but no one is talking about being unwelcoming to new posters who happen to have a differing opinion. This is about new posters who are targeting and harassing certain individuals by creating derogatory screen names and posting maliciously. That shouldn't be accepted and/or tolerated by anyone here on the Dis.

You mean like by following a bunch of "new" posters to try and "find out" if they are "malicious" or not, and then report them. Screening them to make sure they are inline with what we think they should post ??? You are right, that shouldn't be accepted or tolerated at all.

Wow- the perfect timing of your posts is just uncanny! ;)

It's not hard to know if someone is malicious when they're directly insulting you lol.

That's quite the accusation. You are WAY off.

I haven't reported a thing and those "new" posters aren't new, which a WM pretty much confirmed already.

P.s. Did you forget that you're following me? What was your motive behind that?

You guys are on a roll...pretty funny! :rotfl2:

That's all? That's boring.

What exactly are you looking for? :confused3

Did I accuse anyone of anything ? I didn't think I did, just noted that welcoming new members wouldn't include following them and screening their posts.

As I already pointed out... these aren't new members. This is maybe 2 or 3 individuals masquerading as almost 3 dozen new posters! On top of that, a large number of them have been harassing others.

If you condone this behavoir then that's fine, but don't try to paint me as the bad guy.

Those are some tall accusations. Can you back that up with some proof?

Some of the proof has been completely erased from the boards, but Ambear has already backed up this claim.

The other proof is in a post by a webmaster in the FP+ poll thread. I'd link it but the thread is now locked. I'd recommend searching for it, it's a very enlightening read.

Great points. Prior to moving to SoCal last year, I refused to stay at onsite Disney hotels at Disneyland because they are too overpriced, without any real benefits, and they lack the Disney Bubble. But I only stay onsite at WDW, and usually at Deluxe resorts. I just prefer being immersed in the WDW experience. You simply can't get that at Disneyland.
I so strongly disagree with this. We had a lovely 2BR villa on the 5th floor of the Grand Californian last summer, with a view of the ferris wheel and CA park. We never had to leave the Disney bubble to go anywhere in DL, CA, or Downtown Disney.

Staying at the Grand Californian is close, especially with an inside courtyard view.
This, though I prefer a theme park view. :)

I did see the webmaster post in the FP poll thread; however, I'm wondering how it can be ascertained for certain that all of these new posters are just one or two people. Surely there are some random new posters that are getting caught in the cross hairs as well?

They have access to a posters IP address. They know which IPs are causing trouble. They are not going to delete any new account by accident.

How do they find out who is causing trouble? Are they being reported?

I have a ton of trouble staying in the Disney bubble in California. There is so much to do and see there!
