I need to know what everyone uses. Has anyone used the sleeves or the instant arches in the parks ? I have some sandals with arch support, but they won't match all my outfits and it is usually not a problem except when my feet are really tired from all the walking a few days in.

I always think comfort before fashion when it comes to walking a lot. No one will be looking at your feet and judge you.

No but I will. I don't understand why people think that it is about what other people would think it is not about other people at all.

I buy sandals with arches, Vionic is great and has cute styles. I've tried the clear arches mentioned above in flats and my arches are too high so they don't help. They also didn't seem sticky enough and I would worry that they would come loose and fall off the sandal. I think it will depend on how high your arches are.

I have a pair of vionic the problem is that it took me a while to break those in and we leave in one week. I actually end up contacting a friend that is a podiatrist and a shoe lover. For anyone that might be interested in this thread in the future. She said to try the gel arches mention above but use really strong double side tape she also said I should carry the sleeves in case those end up falling then I can just put those on. She said to get nude color so no one will notice. Of course as long as I don't use those everyday she said my feet should be just fine.

Chacos! There are some less clunky versions that I find cute. Try Chaco Z/Cloud 2 or Chaco Z/Volv (they fit differently, so I would try both).

I use the gel arches in my fashion sandals, too, but I don't find that they give enough support for multiple days in a theme park. For shopping all day, they are fine.

And I agree with your friend - bring the roll of double sided tape for the gel arch supports! Also, a good tip is to wash them in soap and water before reapplying the tape. The adhesive on the gel arch support seems to "wake up" after you wash them.

I wear Birkenstock flip-flops all the time, but when I have to wear regular shoes ....I put Birkenstock arch supports inside them.

Perfect thank you for your answer! I am not planning on using them all day. We take mid day breaks so it will be nice to be able to change to some nicer clothes in the afternoon a couple of days. I am usually able to use my sandals all day but when my feet are tired after multiple days in the park my feet just can't pull it off.

I have very high arches and get PF flare ups if I don't have enough support.

I wear Vionic flip flops a lot, but I still couldn't do the parks in them. The only sandals that have made the cut are Teva tirras (the less cute version with the ankle strap). The slides are cuter and fine for work or shopping, but not quite enough support for a whole day at the parks. I was just happy to find ANY sandal that would work on rainy days, but I still alternate with my Asics.

I just got some Vionic sandals and the arch support is fantastic. And they are cute. I would steer clear of flip flops or slides and make sure you have adequate closures to keep the shoes on. I also have some Abeo that are pretty decent. I agree that for 10 miles of walking, I'd probably want a shoe change somewhere along there.

I am still recovering from a year of Plantar Fasciitis ! I made it worse by not taking recommendations to wear supportive shoes right off the bat because I thought they looked clunky... big mistake. Anyway for me Vionics are too wide but they do have some cute fashion sandals. What worked best for me initially was to go strictly into Brooke's Ariel athletic shoes, what a relief. Then in the summer I transitioned into Teva Tirras (got the beige, they go with everything), Spenco flip flops for around the house/pool, Naot strap sandals in black and bronze (so comfy and supportive) and Haflinger sandals that were in some close out colors so cheap. The Naots were my stalwarts along with the Teva Tirras. But for a full day in at WDW I would go with athletic shoes hands down. I also use Power Step arch support inserts as recommended by my podiatrist in all my other shoes. Good Luck!!:sunny:
