Hello

Does anyone know where Aquatica is located/address? :)

Thanks in advance

This is Julie not Johnny

Right across the street from Sea World, just on the other side of International Drive!!

Thanks for all your info,

the pictures look quite good, we are going to Orlando in March 2008, so we will just have to try it out. :rolleyes1

I hope the kiddies area at the park is much improved on Disney's.

It is scheduled to open "March 2008" so I hope your dates aren't too early.

We are going to wait about a year to go... we don't like crowds!!

We are planning on going Oct 2008, I hope the crowds will die down by then ha! ha! Can't wait to see that park!

I would think the opposite in the beginning as many people won't know about the park. When Islands of Adventure first opened no one even knew about it.

I do agree that many people especially from outside Florida might not know about a new park opening as in the case of Islands of Adventure where they had to fire the marketing team that came up with the Universal Escape name for the resort as many people had no clue there was even a new park. The name then had to be changed to Universal Orlando. But believe me plenty of people knew about it,especially Floridians as the park was plenty crowded when it opened,I was there the second saturday it was opened and 2 hour lines for Spiderman and 1.5 for Dueling Dragons will give you an idea.

When Aquatica opens, sure there will be many people clueless to what it is,but there are many enthusiasts and locals that will be waiting in a line 2 hours before it opens the first day and the park will definitely be crowded through the fall months!!

I think marketing will be the key to Aquatica as well. If the perception is only that it's Wet n Wild with more colorful slides (or worse, just a new "land" in Sea World), I'm sure it will be an I-Drive mainstay but probably won't do much more than pull off afternoon visitors from SW.

However, if SW can somehow get across that this is "Discovery Cove Lite"--and if it lives up to the hype I am hearing from SW employees--I think they will have one of the top Florida destinations around for years to come. Something that may even be a bigger threat to WDW than the new Harry Potter land at IOA.

BTW, just a minor update, but the traffic light for the entrance to Aquatica has been installed along I-Drive. Just flashing yellow for now, but things are definitely rolling along.

It says March 2008 but is there any chance it may open a week or so before? :confused3 We will be there Feb17-26. We aren't doing WDW this time because wev'e been 3 times and this time can't afford it so we want to do things we've never done. We LOVE:love: water parks and SW so I'd do just about anything to go to Aquatica!
I know when we went to WDW in 2006 the new ride at AK (EE) wasn't opening till the next month but they had it open quietly before the grand opening so we got to go on.
I really hope so.:cloud9: pixiedust:

It seems like construction is on track for the March opening, however there could be soft openings in February or on the other hand there could be a delay and the park won't open until April or May,you never know!

i dont know if its just too early, but it looks like its all out in the opening and rather flat like wetNwild. I love themeing and from the looks of the concept art it looked like it was going to be themed. However from the photos it all looks flat and rather small. I hope i'm wrong but they only have about 5 months left so i dont know.

I called yesterday and they said that they are shooting for march 13th for opening day providing that they stay on track. Also I don't know if this had been mentioned but they are going to add aqutica to the orlando flex tickets of parks.

Here's the website for it.

If you go into the Hospitality Building at SeaWorld, they have the miniature model setup. This place is going to be amazing!

I don't know. I just looked at the "construction" photo in the aerial view linked by donaldduck1967. I also looked at the aerial view of Disney's Typhoon Lagoon, using the same resolution (I dragged the view over to this park). Comparing the two, considering the ground plan of the Aquatica model on their website, I think this park will be slightly larger, landwise, than TL and about the same size as Blizzard Beach, which takes some walking to get around!

The lazy rivers at the two Disney water parks are bigger but the one at Aquatica will apparently float through an aquarium tunnel and past some impressively themed areas, so it's not surprising that it's not as huge as the relatively plain concrete ditch circling Blizzard Beach.

We won't be able to visit Aquatica this year. :sad1: Hm. Maybe we'll have to plan an extra visit to the in-laws in Ocala during the warmer weather next year and day trip to Aquatica. Now there's an idea!!! :flower3: :cutie: :rotfl:

My guess is that aerial construction photo is not current. It shows no tubes built and they had quite a few tubes up in April and much more progress two weeks ago.

These are quick drive by photos from April.....
