Those are great photos!
How are the crowds?
Do you do the rides, too?
Love the pics! Post more anytime!

Thank you! =)

To answer your questions... I got there at about 9:45am. The park was listed as opening at 10am, but they were letting people in when I got there and I just breezed right in.

It was pretty mild as far as crowds go in the morning. However, we had one of those Florida rainstorms at around 9am that morning, the kind where it rains like all hell for about an hour, then stops and clears up. So I think the rain initially kept people away. By the time I left at around 2pm, they were turning cars away from the gate again.

It didn't feel exceptionally crowded, though. However, this trip was really just a photo excursion for me this time, so I wasn't waiting in any lines for slides. I just floated around the lazy river an hour or so, laid on the beach for a while and read my book, and took some photos of the Commerson's dolphins. That's why I love having an annual pass... I can go without having to feel rushed to hit all the rides. ;)

=)

Those are beautiful photos of the Commersom dolphins! Thanks for sharing - I'm glad so many people are enjoying Aquatica. DixieDolphin - what did you think of the food? I like the idea of the all-day food pass, I think it makes it easier for the family to eat what they want, when they want. Did you use the all-day dining option?

I'm going to be honest, I did not like the food at the all-you-can-eat buffet (Banana Beach Cookout) at all. It might be okay for feeding a whole bunch of hungry kids, but personally I thought it was rather sub-par all around.

On the other hand, I had lunch on another visit at the Waterstone Grill. The cheesesteak I ordered was pretty good and the other food there looked fairly tasty, too. Much better than the Banana Beach Cookout. But since I have an annual pass, I'm more inclined to go across the street to Sea World itself for lunch instead, as they have a nicer variety of food.

Just my opinion, though. =)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I think you're right - the all you can eat pass is meant to be family friendly and make life easier, but I certainly hope there are more, better food options as time goes on.

What food options do you like better at SeaWorld? I'm doing some work with Aquatica and I'd be glad to let them know which food options are preferred.

Thanks for the feedback and the photos - I shared them with my co-workers!

Hmm, well.. personally, I think Aquatica needs an option like the Smokehouse at Sea World (or whatever that barbecue place is called now)... still keeps the food kinda 'all-American generic'... but tastes a little better than the stuff there. After all these years, the Smokehouse is still my favorite spot at Sea World. Mmm... beef brisket. ;)

Sea Fire Inn and Spice Mill are great additions to the park, though... massive kudos to SeaWorld for adding that stuff in! :D

Glad ya like the photos! Those Commerson's dolphins are awesome to photograph... so much contrast to work with! Beautiful animals.

You work with the parks? Sweet!

=)

Thanks again for the 411 on food options, I'll definitely pass this along to Aquatica people.

Yes, I've been enjoying my time working with Aquatica a lot and getting to know the members of DisBoards - you all are a great resource for feedback and information. I hope that I can work with more theme parks in the future - it has been really fun!

Here are a few photos from our visit to Aquatica today.... I posted some pictures of the cabanas earlier in a different thread.

About what time did the park get really crowded? About how long did you have to wait for slides? Did you notice what time in the am the park was closed?

Thanks very much!:goodvibes

Thanks for posting them bucsfan! My kids were drooling over them, especially since we have had spring SNOW flurries here in PA the last two mornings!!

No problem! We arrived at the park around 9:30 AM and were immediately able to get on a lot of the slides with very little line. We had expected the park to open at 10AM, but they opened an hour early. By Noon, the park had gotten fairly busy but I'm not sure that it was ever closed. Fortunately we had a cabana, as I noticed that most of the lounge chair areas were packed.

I agree with some of the other posters on the boards....eventhough the park was busy, it still wasn't too bad. We waited about 20 minutes on Dolphin Plunge and Tassie's Twisters, but all of the other slides had just a few minute wait. I'd recommend going on those 2 slides first...they seemed to always have the longest lines throughout the day.
