Aquadunk vs Aquaduck

I recently went on the Aquaduck for the first time. I'll be honest. I'm not a brave person and I was scared to go on it. After the first two rides I was better. After a few more I loved it. I can't handle extreme rides. I will never ride Tower of Terror, Expidition Everest, or Summit Plummet. I actually don't think I'd ride many slides at the water parks. Even the tame rides scare me. So, what's the Aquadunk like? It looks like there's a drop that I wouldn't be able to handle. I'm bummed they didn't make the Aquadunk more like the Aquaduck.

The second dip can be a bit jerky on the human back if you are heavy and riding in the back, IMO. This is where they may take a photo too if operational. :thumbsup2 I bottomed out the first few times until I figured out a technique.

IMO much less scary than the AquaDunk. The dips are about 5-6 feet. These dips are where you move over the water jets that accelerate you. The rider in the back, if one, will get the most wet here, on these two dips.

Enjoy

ETA; I see now I read your question backwards. Oh well, I tried. lol.

Aquaduck is a pretty tame ride compared to the Aquadunk.

The actual drop/slide/trip is over so fast on the Aquadunk that you don't have too much time to be scared. It is the wait that freaks people out. You step into a chamber, a clear plastic door slowly shuts, sealing you in (the operator will open it and let you step out if ask or get upset). Then Donald's nephews count down: "Three, two, one, blast-off!" The floor drops out from under you and you are sliding down.

The initial chamber is angled, so you never free fall. Basically, you are just on the slide with a plate (the floor) keeping you from sliding. They swing that plate away, and you slide. Took my daughter 45 minutes of false starts to finally ride.

Swampers is right. It's the waiting for the floor to drop while posed like a vampire in a closed casket that's scary, not the actual "falling". You don't really fall, you just slide down. The feeling isn't bad at all, it's your head they mess with.

They have a water slide like the AquaDunk at our Six Flags water park. It is AWESOME!

The Aquaduck was made after the ride at Typhoon Lagoon even their rafts were used for awhile on the ship. The duck is pretty lame not scary or fast by any means. The problem is if you are in the back and the cold water hits you in the back.

The aquadunk was incredible, first time was a shock on the initial drop, but once you know what is happening it is great. If you can get yourself to go once you will be hooked, saw many take forever to go the first time, come back many times.

Did find out the fastest way to go, start on your tip toes, drop in cleaner, and keep your butt up off the slide and ride on your shoulder blades and heels. As the lifeguard put it the less clothes you wear the faster you go. I can attest to that as I wore a shirt the last day because I was a little beat up from riding it soo much and I was way slower.

Not sure if I will ride the aquaduck again, it may be too tame;)

While the Aquaduck is fun, I find the freezing cold water shooting over my back makes it a bit unpleasant.
And, if you have a bad back, some of those jostles can be rough.
The Aquadunk is really more about the anticipation when you are in the "tube". You hear the countdown, but aren't REALLY sure when the floor is going to go. I think it was way smoother then the Aquaduck, and also much faster, which is neither good nor bad.
I will say, I did it more to say that I did it, and it was so fast, it was over before I really processed it!
You don't really fall, just slide out fast.
I have a bad back, and the dunk was actually better on the back than the duck.
My family loved the Aquadunk, btw...2 dds, 13 & 10 (and DH, too!)

Which ride at Typhoon Lagoon was that?

What is really awesome is when the lifeguards get to know you and they mess with ya by not releasing you till some random time after the count is over, makes it a bit more exciting:)

How is the 'Dunk' for the pooh sized? Would love to try it but have slight fears of the floor sliding away and getting stuck in the tube like a cork?

We are just off the Magic and my DS (10) tried the Aquadunk and had a less than favorable experience. He listened to the cm and put his head back and crossed arms and legs but the force somehow knocked his head back and he had/has a huge knot on the back of his head and it had a little reddish blood in there. He said it hit his head and it was almost scratchy like. Our awesome stateroom host gave him an ice pack and he's pretty tough so we just watched it. He clearly didn't want to do again! Lol

He loves the aquaduck, however

I asked various CMs if they rode the AquaDunk (only one said no) and there was a CM who said the lifeguard did this to him the one time he tried it. He would be ready in his head and he wouldn't push the button, then when he wasn't, SWOOSH! lol

My DD 10 went on 37 times, but DD 15, just once to say she did it. The look on both their face sat the bottom was priceless.

And watchers beware. If you are next to it when someone comes down you may get *ahem* a "little" wet!

How much were the photos?

Odds are $19.95 each unfortunately, if available at all, unless you purchase a package.

The AD (Fantasy) photos rarely work. And if they do you must hunt them. They could be on the computer kiosks in Shutters, in the folders, or on the wall, on display for all. Hunt IMO. Good luck hunting to all. Ours were on the computer kiosks in shutters on the Fantasy fwiw. You had to tell the computer/kiosk to print them, in our experience. I suppose if you were ordering all the prints, or the disc, it may have been more seamless. ? ? ?

Ask IMO. Ask the AD operator. Ask Shutters, ask everyone if your interested. IMO.

They said these photos taken during the AD ride operated on facial recognition. They did say few females made the correct KTTW/ file. Males had a better chance. It makes sense, as they continued the explanation. The middle age men have less hair and when wet didn't look much different from their boarding pic. However, the females, generally when wet, look completely different from their boarding pic. Therefore the software struggles. Makes sense to me fwiw. Worked for me, and not my wife last year. So .....

Hope that helps some find their AD pics.

I wish they would just swipe your card as you are released down the slide.
Sounds simple, but .....

:goodvibes
