Aquaduck question

Our girls will be 6 and almost 4 at the time of our cruise. My wife will be busy watching our 10 months old.

If I want to take them on aquaduck, what’s the best option? I guess our 6 year old can ride it with an older kid but she might be too scared the first time to ride it with a stranger.

Can I leave my 4 year old in line, ride it with my 6 year old and then go back and ride it with my younger one? Any suggestions? Thanks!

From Disney's website:

Riders should note that:

  • AquaDuck is designed for Guests 42" or taller
  • Single riders must be 54" or taller
  • Children under 7 must ride with someone 14 years of age or older, provided the child is at least 42" tall
  • No snorkel equipment or swim masks are permitted
As operating hours may vary, please check the Personal Navigator newsletter or Disney Cruise Line Navigator mobile app once onboard the ship for the most up-to-date information.

Keep one child sitting with mom while you take the other. The line is too long for you to run back up and do it with the second child (leaving her up there to wait for you to finish with the first child is not a good idea).

What we have done is have one child in kids club so the parent who is not watching baby does the ride with one child. Then you swap at a different time so other child gets to do the ride. OR whoever is sitting next to mom and baby enjoys an ice cream cone as a waiting reward

It isn't like a roller coaster where you end the ride the same place that you start; you end up a level lower and then they haul the raft up on a conveyor belt. So you couldn't leave one kid at the start. Leave one with the other parent and then get back in line.

Just got off the Fantasy this morning.
Our DS7 was not tall enough to ride by himself. He was allowed to ride with another 7 year that was taller than 42 inches. Under 6 but taller than 42 inches have to ride with someone 54 inches tall and 14 years old.

Trust me you'll want to ride it twice, its that fun....but yes take one at a time, the lifeguard wont let one on solo under 54", they will make you stand in front of the ruler before getting in line.

Make sure to measure your 4yo carefully to avoid any disappointment. My 4yo (who was nearly 5) was JUST barely tall enough to go.

We did the switching off too, which was great for the adult who rode twice, but it's also a lot of stairs lol.

My daughter is currently 39 inches tall and our cruise isn’t until next May. I’m hoping she’ll grow 3 more inches by then. I’m giving her lots of milk .

This will be our first Disney cruise! We’re super excited. I’m so glad I found disboards and thanks everyone for great suggestions!

Yes! So much yes. we thought we had measured well at home, and man o man, the one on the boat must err on the side of caution. My 4 1/2 year old just BARELY made it after multiple measures because the guy measing it wasn't good at explaining how to stand and then measuring. When another lifeguard shows up and used the simple trick of trying to the armband between the head and the measuring stick, it was fine. We made sure to impress that the armband had to stay on at all times! We would do a lot of riding during the first dinner/show time as most people did those activities. That might help the original poster get more rides, especially if his kids really like it. We seemed to average about 10 rides an hour at night.

We had three kids 6, 6, and 2. While DH rode the slide with twin #1, I stayed with the toddler at the Nemo's Reef splash zone while twin #2 rode the yellow slide (not sure what it is called) over an over (the line for the yellow slide moves pretty quick, so he probably got about 10 slides in by the time his twin was done on the aquaduck. I stayed in the corner of the splash zone nearest to the yellow slide so I could see him go up the steps and get off the slide and know he was okay while the little one splashed away. Then DH and I swapped places and I rode the aquaduck with twin 2.
