Ap's & MYW with DVC...

I hope everyone understood the Abrv... your here anyhow.

Question:

If staying on points at BW (or any DVC) I understand we are unable to purchase the Magic Your Way package (getting the free food offer). But can we add on, at the beginning of the stay, a cash room at a resort for 1 or 2 nights and then purchase a MYW package for 6 or 7 or (?) days to then cover your point stay?

Question:

Can this package then be upgrade to a Premium AP or AP at the start or during anypart of the stay with a DVC discount?

I have gone back a number of posts looking for this info, but haven't gotten to it yet. pardon if it is repeated..

Maybe I'm missing something here, but it sounds as though you want to pay for one night at BWV, and get free meals for a week?

As far as upgrading to APs, don't forget to ask for the DVC discount. They may end up paying you to take this vacation!

No. You can only get the MYW for the nights that you are paying cash.

Am I misunderstandingthe package?

I thought the MYW was a park pass package that was including meals, so I am paying for a package that does not include hotel. The hotel would then be added on accordingly based on what hotel we stay at.

Not really looking for too too much for nothing am I?

Actually, I'm not sure I understand the package either.
I was under the impression it was park addmission, hotel, and food.

I thought the only reason DVCers could not do it is because the computers can't handle it. (I know that may not be all).

The MYW tickets don't have to be LOS. Has someone confirmed that addiing teh dinig plan has to be LOS for the cash ressie?

ETA - oops! I just noticed that the free dining had to be a 3 night minimum.

If you were not doing the free dining, though, could teh above suggestion work just to get teh meal plan on the MYW (i.e., could you pay for teh dinig option and have it work.).

The MYW package is ONLY available when booked thru CRO for the room with the package included. DVC stays are not part of the program.

If you reserve a cash stay thru CRO and purchase MYW tickets and meal plan, you can upgrade the admission tickets to AP and still get the DVC discount, but there is currently no way to access the meal plan while staying on points.

The free dining is a special promotion, which I believe has a minimum stay of 3 nights and a minimum double occupancy. If you book, on that promotion, during the dates it's offered, AND you get one of the packages which includes both the hotel stay and park tickets...they give you the food deal free (a $35 per adult per day freebie).

It's all laid out in pretty understandable form on the main WDW website.

It does however give me the option to purchase the hotels for # nites and have the MYW (package) for an extended number of days, as long as used within 14 days of the original start. It did not say it was park only.

I am thinking 3 nites (min) as a cash ressie thru CR, and purchase the MYW for a total of 8 days.

does that work?

The meal plan is available ONLY for the dates of the package reservation. If you wish to purchase more days for the Theme Park admissions, you will still have 14 days to use the passes - unless you purchase the "no expire" option or upgrade to the AP. The meal plan does not have the 14 day option- it is good only for the dates of the resort stay.
