I am rewarding myself for my first 5K finish.
I ordered a Garmin 305 today. HOORAY!
You will love it! I don't know how I lived without mine.

I ran my first 5K! It went very well. I ran the whole way (my only goal), and I finished in 33:29. My best training time for 3 miles had been about 34:55, so I was very pleased with my pace. The last stretch was tough, and there were a few more hills than I was used to, but I was very happy at the end.
My husband runs, but he has never entered a race. He decided to go with me to show support, but I talked him into doing the 10K instead of the 5K with me. He finished 3rd! I had to give him a hard time about going to support me and then upstaging me.
Thanks to all of you for your support!

I almost didn't go out and run because it was cold and drizzly, but I thought to myself, that this is how it starts, the decline, I skip one workout, then another, and before I know it, I'm not exercising at all. I've been that route before, and I will not do it again. So I went out in the rain and ran my 2 miles, in 32 minutes this time!! I felt so good after, and today I got up and did 45 min of wii fit. I want to run the princess half, I got to stay focused.

Hi everyone! Thanks for all the birthday and baptism wishes!Birthday was uneventful... went into the running store and not even three minutes after walking in, my son threw up in front of the gels and chews. I was so embarrassed! I cleaned it up for them and told them I would be back without the kids!!! The baptism was absolutely wonderful. I was in heels from 11:30am until 11 at night so by the end of the night I felt like I had run three marathons. But it was great.
This morning I ran 5.5 miles in 1:03 in 37 degree weather. I don't know if 1:03 is a good time but I had never done 5.5 miles in my life and I'm over the moon about it. I'm feeling very confident I can do a 10K come June 5th with a kick booty time at that!
Today's still kinda hectic but I'll be back on the thread in full swing probably tomorrow!
Oh yea, my birthday is 4/16 and I'll be doing the Princess Half in March!
Question for everyone: I have been only running (of course, I haven't gone farther than 3 miles yet), but I was talking to a friend about Jeff Galloway-style training. She loves it because she feels she recovers faster, can finish more strongly (which results in faster times), and is less prone to injury. I think she uses 3:1 intervals (3min run/1 min walk), but others do 1:1, 2:1, 4:1, 5:1, whatever works for them.
Just curious to see what everyone here is doing. I would love to know!

I have run the last two weeks alone and have had really great runs. I am less stressed during and after and I am running better. There is something to be said about running with a partner or a group, but until I find the right person or people, I am going to go solo. And while I am alone physically, I know I have good WISHer friends who tag along, if only in my mind!!
Today's lesson: do not stop at Chipotle less than an hour before you run.
Patsy, what's a pacer?
