April/May 2006 Code Watch

Local TA (non-AAA) left me a message yesterday about the "hot new WDW package"....it's POP for 3 nights w/base tix for approx. $650 (WOW) and the best part is they throw in 2 pair of 50th anniv. mouse ears:rolleyes: .

Only mention it because it runs to 2/28...hope WDW doesn't sit on the fence until then for new rates.:Pinkbounc

There is a different number to call on the passholder site. 407-560-7277. I had planned on calling this number if and when the new rates are released.

come on already!

Do most people have the reservations already made or are you waiting for the codes?

I finally called yesterday (1/30) after waiting for codes for our visit 4/18 - 25. I know that it is right around Easter and I started to think that Disney wouldn't be having any codes. We wanted CR 14th floor but there was only one room left with a king bed and there are 4 of us. So we will be trying one of the wings for the first 3 nights. The last 4 nights I did manage to get YC concierge garden view. No codes so $$$$$! :(

If by any chance they do get codes out I can still apply them to our reservations. I also made reservations for august and will apply codes if they come out for then. AND we may go in December for a couple of nights to do the holidays around EPCOT so I may book for then soon too - airfare is also good for that time if I buy NOW.

Only had to put one night deposit for each resort - the rest payable at check-in. I am still HOPING for some codes!!!

I have reservations made already with AAA discount at BW but rack at WL. If the codes don't come out soon I'm seriously considering switching my entire stay at BW. It works out to only $66 more per night & will have concierge for the entire week.

Last year the codes didn't come out until 3/9 so we may have a long wait.

I think I may go ahead and make our reservations with AAA discount and they apply the AP rate.

I called this morning and no AP discount codes yet. I have made our reservation and will apply the code if one comes out. Keeping fingers crossed!! :teeth:

I already made my reservations.

Jill-- if codes do come out, you should be able to apply them to your reservation. It is not a guarantee, though-- if there are no more code rooms available for your dates and resorts, they may not be able to apply. My advice is to call as early as possible on the day the codes come out, to see if you can apply them. If not, then try calling every day because there may be cancellations (I remember lots of situations where someone called the first day and couldn't get a code applied, and then a week or two later, someone else called and was able to get the same dates/ rooms and resort!!)

it also helps to be flexible-- if you are willing to stay at a different resort, there may be codes available somewhere else if not at the actual resort you are staying at!

Waiting for the codes. In my own little way, I'm sending Disney a message that their rooms aren't all sold out at rack rate (or AAA). :thumbsup2

If everyone books waiting for codes to come out, what incentive would Disney have of actually discounting anything?

I mean they may pick up a few extra guests by discounting, but they know a lot of the people like us will call back and rebook which will cost them money.

It is simple supply and demand. So I would figure the less that book now the better the chance we have of getting a discount. I am going to wait until the beginning of March to see what comes out and then book. If my hotel I want is not availabe I will just pick another.

Anyone know how busy Disney is during Apr 23 thru May 1st? Easter is the 15th so we are going a full week after, just was wondering if we should wait until May 1st to go? Any thoughts?

We are going same time, the problem is the 29th and 30th are grad nights and the park closes early those nights so you may miss out. Same price either week but if you go on the 22nd watch out it goes up a lot!! See you there

anything yet this am? i figured since it's the start of a new month that maybe...

Hello all, we're getting excited for what we expect will be a trip in May. Would like the first week but want to miss the grad nights which I think wrap up on the 6th.

Anyway, thanks all for responses to my last post. New questions;

What is the number for reservations? It's surprisingly hard to find on the website. Also, what's the difference between CRO and the other group (I forget what it's called).

Looking forward to booking soon.

J.

The number for CRO (Disney direct booking) is 407-w-disney. There is an 800 number but, I've never used it or even know what it is. I think it's really for ap holders?
I usually book directly with CRO. If you have AAA they can also apply room discount. If you want a package (room, tkts, & dining) using AAA discount then you have to book directly with AAA.
Some use travel agents to get discounts if Disney is offering any. Right now we're all waiting for and May/June discounts to come out.

The 800 number is 1-800-828-0228. I have no idea who that number is actually for (the number on the AP is a different 407 number if I recall). Anyways, it takes you to the same prompts/ recordings/ people as 407-w-disney.

I can't even remember where I got the 800 number (probably on here somewhere), and it certainly is not advertised anywhere, but it works!!
