I've got a 7 night CR MK view pkg w/dining and air (2 adults, 1 junior and 2 kids) for 4/29-5/6 thru AAA for $6312. Surely I can do better than that. If a code does become available, will I be able to use it if it's better than what I have now?

A code would help. Did you consider booking your package components separately yourself? I'll bet that you can bring the air portion of your package down a lot from AAA rates if you book it yourself. $6312 does seem very high to me especially since it I think it is value season for your dates.

Hey everyone. A friend and I are giong in April. We are Canadians and the dollar is really good right now. I'm considering buying our tickets (via ticketmania via mousesavers) now while the dollar is so good. My only fear is that any special that comes out for April will be a package and that we'll already have our tickets so we can't get in on this. So here is my question, would you

A) Go ahead and buy the tickets and book the hotel now. Hope for a room only rate to come up and change your reservation to that. (I can use the deposit I pay for the room now to the room only discount if I change it in a few months time right?)

or

B) Hold out and hope for a package (Canadian or otherwise) and change the money up now and leave it in the bank? And send any type of deposit by other means than a credit card?

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

I believe you can buy a package with only a 1 day hopper. So say if you bought a 4 day pass, then a package came out. You can get the package as long as you buy a 1 day pass.

The AAA air is about $210 pp. I can't find prices cheaper than $360 right now on my own (Springfield, MO to Orlando).

That is an excellent price on the air. I once booked a AAA package and the air was around $500 per person and I was kicking myself that I didn't just try to do the air myself.

What is causing your package to be so high then?

I don't have the actual AAA breakdown yet, but it's about $250 off the WDW website rate, which breaks down as follows for the 5 of us:

CR MK view 7 nights: $3385
7 day PH tickets: $1041
Dining plan: $951
Air: $1170
Insurance: $120

I think we're going to switch to POR. There's just no way I can justify $484/night at the CR Tower even though I keep trying. Now that I look at that $484 number, I can't believe I was actually considering it. Just thought it would be soooo cool for the kids, ya know.

I hear you! I've gone from the Poly to CR to WL and now to CSR for our April trip. I just can't justify the huge cost of a room that we won't be in much.

As much as I love the Contemp & the Poly, I also can't bring myself to pay the high rates for this trip. So it's CSR for me too. (unless a great deal comes out) I would change for WL or AK if the rates were around $159 to $179 per night. Come on codes!!!!

I'm waiting and hoping for May codes as well. I was fortunate enough to get a postcard for last May and recieved WL for $180/night courtyard view. Im crossing my fingers that I'll get another May post card, if not a general public paclage or code would be amazing. I was also lucky enough to get the Fairytale Package in Aug 2003, $1900 for 7 nights CSR Waterview for 2 adults and 2 juniors with Unlimited Park Hopper Passes. AND we ended up getting bumped up to the Yacht Club where we got upgraded to concierge. I kid you not! So we paid $1900 for 6 nights in concierge waterview at Yacht Club

I know I'll NEVER get that good a deal again LOL It was a string of good luck.

Anyways, my best friend and I are heading down to WDW in May 2006. We haven't booked anything yet, though im getting anxious lol. She wants to wait until Jan to book, though I've told her if any discounts for Apr/May come out before then I'll be booking. *crosses fingers* Lets all hope that this Oct-Dec package and code release is a good discount omen

We will be at the Polynesian (GV) from Apr 9th to the 14th and we currently have AAA rate room only of $435.97 but I am hoping to get a bit cheaper with AP discount if it comes out via the Best Rate Program. I wonder whether they will announce extended dates for booking when the new Mickey Monitor comes out in Nov?? Anyone else got any guesses as to when we will be able to book??

(including tax)....and we are in reg. season then..If Im not mistaken ...Your dates are in Value season???.....I dont know why your rate is so much higher then mine???? ...Maybe Im missing something???

My sister and I are going May 19-23. Have AAA package booked right now, but would love to upgrade to WL if some codes come out. Does anyone know what the penalty of canceling AAA reservation is if I'm still outside the 45 day range?

You can cancel up to 5 days from check in with no penalty...that is for room only...Im not sure about pkgs.

I recieved my postcard right at the end of January. I can't remember the exact time period it was for but I know it covered most of april and may. We went May 12th - 21st and got WL Courtyard for a great deal $180/night (was actually $155, but we were three adults in a room, so they add $25/night for that)

Im really hoping they send out more postcards or even better release general discounts for apr/may 2006 by the end og January. I didhear some people getting the same post card as me as early as December though! So you never know, what a great Christmas gift that would be!

I got an email pin code just for values yesterday good through December 25th, just for the heck of it I called to see what the moderate rate was with the pin and she quoted me $114. I would be SO happy to get that for early May!

I was bummed to get the email though, because it seems once I get one, I don't get another one for a loooooooonnnggg time.

I was just going to post this info too. Folks should remember that most of April is in PEAK season, so even with a discount, the rates will be high. I just booked my DVC reservation for April 23-May 5 (BWV), but will be watching for a room for April 22 for one night, so will be paying peak prices for that one night. (I think rack rate at a value is $119 a night during peak.)

I got the same email.

Since they are offering discounts for Christmas ($99.00 per night for POR), I hope they'll offer them during Easter. The peak rates are $9.00 less per night than the Holiday rates. IF a discount comes out I MIGHT be able to get our room for $90.00 per night.
