April 9th 2014 4 Wondrous nights

Welcome!! We are headed to Cairns Nov 22nd - 26th :) Then Fiji for 6 days. You have an awesome trip planned!! Are you doing Disneyland while there? I'm so glad you decided to join us on this cruise as well. There are a few of us doing both cruises thus far, Sopandbass is on both as well :)
Yep we're staying at the Camelot for 4 nights before the cruise so we'll get 3 full days in DL, that's the shortest amount of time we've ever had there, we have always previously done 5+ nights. Luckily I will be getting my Disney fix with 9 nights of cruising!!
You decided to do Cairns, that's great. I remember you said something in the other thread about really wanting to go there rather then spending all of your time in Fiji.

I have been to Sydney, but the kids have not been to Australia. I booked a lot of cultural things in Fiji. Cooking classes, a local village and school visit, Treasure House Orphanage.. and then we are going for the last two nights to Blue Lagoon on Yasawa Island. It will be good for my kids to see the culture, but we are also doing fun things like jet boats and parasailing.

Cairns should be amazing with a helicopter tour, the koala breakfast, horseback riding in the rainforest, and jet skis and tubing being pulled by a boat. (I'm not sure what that is called)

I am headed to Disneyland for 3 nights before heading to Cairns. My youngest has been to every Disney in the world, but the original. If we play all day on the 20th, by 9pm for the 10 hour flight, the kids should be exhausted and sleep. At least, that is my goal.

Your trip sounds awesome. I have stayed at the Camelot before heading to Fiji the last time. You will have to let me know what you think about it. I stayed 1 night at Disneyland Hotel, it was beautiful and so nice, but it's too expensive. I can't justify those prices.

Was doing the B2B less expensive than the April 5th 7 day?

Can you believe we've never been to Cairns but have been to Fiji and USA six times each!!! Airfares to Cairns cost nearly the same as Fiji so we've always chosen Fiji ;)
We go to Sydney a few times a year as my dh's parents live down that way.

We stayed at the Camelot in 2009 and found it good. Not a fancy hotel but it's clean and tidy with comfy beds, plenty of room in the family suite for us and a very short walk to the gates. The only downside is having just one bathroom between six of us. The other three times we stayed at Residence Inn Maingate in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite, it's about a 10 minute walk to the gates, but when we've had 6 nights or more that wasn't a problem. We would love to stay at one of the Disney resorts but Paradise Pier and the Disney Hotel don't have rooms big enough for us so we'd have to have connecting rooms which gets expensive, then the Grand Californian has suites big enough but the prices are ridiculous.

Yep the B2B is a few hundred cheaper and also they didn't have any Cat 09A rooms available on the 7 night

Has anyone sailed from Miami before? Looking for hotel with shuttle to Port. :beach:

I have not been to Miami, but I think AussieMumma asked the same question on trip advisor. Hopefully she will be on to help you :)

I found this on cruise critic http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=689995 But Trip Advisor is so much more helpful I think.

As far as the FE, I will have been on the April 4th cruise, so I probably won't be doing the FE. AussieMumma offered to help with the FE, but I can't remember which cruise she was going to organize.

I am doing 5 cruises in 2014, so I am having a hard time keeping them straight.

Me!

We're a party of six in two staterooms: Me, husband, son 17, son 15, daughter 9, son 6

Can't wait!

:welcome: mom2dzb :welcome:

It should be so much fun!!

If your kids are on the DIS, there is a kids thread Julie started so the kids could get to know each other. Feel free to have your kids join :)

Hi Mom4fun!

Just back from Disney World. My oldest son took a class on Animal Behavior at Animal Kingdom. Very cool class (he is 12 turning 13). We try to pop down there every semester for a class. We love them and where better to learn than Disney :) He is taking two more at the end of the month in Disneyland. I am hoping they will be just as amazing as the classes isn WDW.

So excited so many of you are going back to back!! It will be awesome for all the kids to hang out together for 9 days. :wizard:

Hi all, as I mentioned on the facebook page, I'm happy to organise a Fish Extender for anyone that is interested.
I think all I need is your cabin number and who is in your family (mum, dad, boys, girls, kids ages). So when you know all of those details send me a pm on here or fb and I'll make a list to send out to all involved.
We'll have a cut off date so that everyone knows how many gifts they need to organise, I was thinking around a month before the cruise.

Hello all,

Amy and I just B2B with this and the 5-night Caribbean on April 4th. We get 9-nights at a couple hundred less than a 7-night and only one airfare. So I was able to sell it to Amy as a $1000 savings on 2 cruises and we will be Gold when we finish.

So looking forward to Grand Cayman (never been), Cozumel (never been), Castaway Cay (4th time), Nassau (3rd) and Key West (2nd). Our plan is to tour Grand Cayman maybe do a port tour of the reef. On Cozumel we are going to try http://www.cozumelmycozumel.com/Pages/CozumelCookingClasses.html and maybe so off the strip shopping. Castaway Cay will be the 5K, lunch and chilling on the empty ship. Nassau is the major shopping expedition for us. Key West we hope to see some more than last time since we wasted too many of the 5 hours checking the shops (don't need if you have Nassau) so maybe the Butterfly Conservatory or Hemingway's House.

Looking forward to two FEs, two Pirate Nights, and two formal/semi-formal nights. Should be easy to spot use because I hope to be kilting it up most of the cruise. If someone could let me know how to sign up for the FB page and FE list?

Looking forward to seeing everyone out there.

As a side note Amy and I are looking to team up with another group for dinners. We are child-free by choice and enjoy sharing a table with some adults without kids for rounds of the dining rooms. We've done this before and it's always been enjoyable sharing conversations during dinner.

:welcome:Welcome Jim and Amy :welcome:

The cooking classes look amazing!! Julie (11) would really enjoy that. Good for you doing the 5k. Julie and I have talked about it, but she is really taking the lead on these cruises and telling me what excursions she is looking to do. I am not that focused on these cruises yet.

So excited that a bunch of us are going B2B. It will be great to see familiar faces:)

I hope you are able to find other dinner mates. As we get closer I am sure more people will be joining our group. ::yes::

Thanks.

If you wish to join us (or anyone else wishes) in the class let me know before we contact to set it up. The more the marrier!

Jim
