April 6th dcl announcement

I hope this means that the Magic will be coming to Galveston! :yay:

I second that!!! I have so many friends that are just waiting on pins and needles. I will tell you that I will be at work, but :surfweb: on my phone for the announcement to keep posted.

of course it's a boycott - if they were worried about unrest they would never have had ABD to egypt or cruises to tunisia.....
call a spade a spade....

as for not worrying about unrest in turkey vs israel - that's pretty amusing...and shows your lack of knowledge of the area...

I'm going to just figure you've had a bad day, and didn't intend to be insulting. When Disney was doing their stops in Tunisia, the country was stable, without reports of attacks or even issues, there may have been incidents, but they weren't widespread or well publicised. As for Egypt, up until this year, it's been incredibly careful about protecting their major tourism industry, and while there have been more reports of protests, for the most part, there haven't been major issues. As of now, ABD isn't going to ether Tunisia or Egypt.

As for Turkey vs. Israel, Israel is under a constant state of attack, politics aside, they've done really well as a country to have the normal lives they do. Turkey hasn't had the same external pressures, and even now, with their secular gov't., the widespread protests haven't spread to their country.

I'll agree to disagree, but I still don't see a Holy Land itinerary appealing to families with children, and by extension Disney, because of that risk. I also don't see them returning to Tunisia or Egypt any time soon, which is why I'm glad we did the Med cruise last year and got to see it.

Anticipating a telephone and internet meltdown on Thursday! :lmao:

Most of the TA facebook pages I've seen over the last day or so are anticipating Platinum bookings opening up the very next day, with Gold right behind them (if not the same day). With possibly Hawaii, NY and Galveston cruises opening the same day, what a nightmare.

Have a friend getting on the Wonder today and he will immediately book a dummy cruise for our two families, which we can then go in and change once the announcement is made, and booking for our CC level opens. Can't imagin what the booking desks on the ships will be like this coming week! :scared1:

Do they have more than one booking desk on the Dream? I mean the desk on the Magic always had a wait I can't imagine if they have only one desk what the wait is on the Dream

In Feb the booking agents used the DVC desk next to them when it got busy.

A friend and I were just speculating about the southbound repo cruise when the ship is done in NY. Would it go straight to Galveston? How long would it be? Any interesting ports on the way?

I hadn't even been thinking about the repositioning possibilities for the NY/Galveston adventures.:goodvibes

Interesting, but if it's when the kids are in school that could be a tough one

oooh, never thought of this, do you know what "time" they open bookings? Can I stay up and book at 12:01 am on April 7th? hmmm?

Is it possible to book one of these upcoming cruises now, then send it over to my TA in August when I can get the discounted promos while on board the Magic? Or does the actual booking need to take place while on the ship? Really did'nt want to wait until August to book but I also want the discounts.

Technically you could do this BUT with the pace the prices have been increasing for the Dream and Fantasy the price in August will probably more than exceed the 10% discount you would receive onboard, which would make switching it to an onboard booking a bad idea.

Ditto! Except we are cruising in June where I wanted to be able to book, because of the awesome incentives.
:confused3

We do you think Silver can book. I am waiting for this Hawaii before I make any decesions about Hawaii. I have a Carnival cruise I am looking at and will make decesions after that. Do you think Silver will have to wait till Monday?
