April 6th dcl announcement

Okay, I'm taking a stab at a great option for the Magic from NYC. Just got this out of a brochure for Princess Cruises and I think the itinerary is fantastic!

9-night Eastern Caribbean Islander:
New York City
West End
San Juan
St. Thomas
Grand Turk
New York City

DCL could do a 10-nighter and stop at CC. This goes to show that there are more options from NYC than just Bermuda or PC and Nassau and CC. :thumbsup2:cool1:

1. depart from LA

20. Vancouver

I will take a stab at the Wonder Repo.

LA - Honolulu - Hilo - Skagway - Juneau - Tracey Arm - Ketchikan and ending in Vancouver.

My estimate is 4 days to HWI, 2 days in the islands, 4 days to Alaska plus 5 more days in Alaska ending in Vancouver for a total of 15 days.

Then you would reverse in Sept.

My estimate was 20 days, based on 4 sea days from LA to Hawaii, 2 days in Hawaii (although apparently DCL will overnight in Honolulu), 5 sea days to Vancouver, and a full 7-night Alaska cruise.

I wouldn't rule out HAL, especially on the Zuiderdam out of Vancouver.

I do. We have family who sail HAL lots from Vancouver and other ports. I've had so many people tell us not to sail HAL that I've lost count for our age bracket and the kids.

I just do not think Disney is going to do a 20 night cruise. I am think it is going to be a R/t Hawaii with a 5-7 night special Voyage to and From Canada. If the ship is only going to Oahu, and Hilo then it does not do it for me. I would love to do Hawaii on Disney but with Disney Prices and only 2 Hawaii ports is it cost effective 5 more days till we find out.

We're sailing on HAL next May on the Zaandam out of Vancouver. Read lots of good reports and not worried at all about the references often made that it is a "geriatric cruise" :rotfl:

I apologize, first of all, because I just saw this thread and honestly haven't had time to read all of it... Buuuuut- I'm gonna post a thought or two anyway :goodvibes Sorry if I'm repeating!

Kind of hoping that the Magic doesn't travel the East Coast. It was pretty rocky going down the east coast of Florida out of Canaveral b/c the stabilizers don't seem to be all that strong. Galveston would be a great option as, once the Magic is in "protected" waters where it's not so much "open sea," it was a MUCH more enjoyable ride...

As far as other cruises, my family of 4 (Me, my DH, and 2 DS's-- 6 and 8) just returned from a 9 night out of Baltimore on RCI Enchantment of the Seas. While I am 150% all for DCL and find it second to none (especially with the kids!), this was a wonderful trip to tide us over until our next DCL cruise... For those of us in the NE, it's wonderful b/c we drove to the port. Best part? Cost! For 9 nights, for the 4 of us in an inside room (we always get inside and low b/c our oldest has epilepsy and nausea/motion issues can sometimes set off seizures) it cost us under $1,900! Not bad :) The only down side? It wasn't Disney :) Other than that, for the value, it's one I'd recommend :)

Great article. The cruise world really has been rocked just over the last three months. So much has happened!

This type of itinerary interests us more than a couple of ports in Hawaii -- and would save a ton on airfare :goodvibes

MJ...I want to do the Carnival out of NY itinerary that has Turks & Caicos and Half Moon Cay, can't do it this year because DD picked the Dream for her Sweet 16. I also liked Carnival, we did the 4 night to Canada for a long weekend and loved it and will be doing it again this year. Come join us :thumbsup2

This is the Intinerary we are doing on Princess next month. :thumbsup2 I am sure I am going to love that cruise because Princess is discontinuing their Caribbean cruises out of NYC during the Spring/Summer of 2012 so I won't get to do it again. That leaves a nice slot for Disney to fill. Here's hoping!

Here are a few hints I thought I heard while on the DREAM last week...

During a tour, a cruise staff person told us that the three stars on the carpets marked the home ports of the ships.....LA, PC and Barcelona. His words were "these are the home ports for the Disney Cruise Line for the foreseeable future".

During the CC reception two different officers mentioned Hawaii and while they didn't say the WONDER would be there they certainly hinted on it for quite a while.

Then, during Captain Henry's speech he told us he couldn't tell us about the new itineraries. But then he gave quite a long explanation of how the ships are tied to Disney land locations. He said "the WONDER is right next to Disney Land, the MAGIC is right next to Disney World. Maybe we could do something with Aluani in Hawaii? Or DL Paris?" He really pushed the tie in concept so it had me wondering if there is more Europe ahead than we think???

It all may mean nothing at all! But I thought I would report in!! :goodvibes

Lornak, I truly hope that is true. We really want do another European cruise with DCL!

See to me this makes sense...yet if the Wonder summer 2012 goes to Alaska this will not work for me because me and my family really want to see DL

I also looked at the europe cruise hoping it was near DL Paris yet, it was not again I was bummed.

My family loves Disney parks and we want to add a DCL cruise. Since we have done DW 3 times, would like to do some other Disney parks but due to school we have to do this in the summer. C'mon Disney take my money on a cruise and a park combo= double the profit!
I will not take a flight- Park- FLIGHT - cruise and then yet another flight...

I need a cruise leaving the port near a park in the summer...C'mon work with me...:rotfl2:

yeah, like they give a fig about lil'ole me and our parks obsession, I am sure I could get with a DCL obsession if given a chance:rolleyes1
