April 6, 2008 - 4-night Spring Break Cruise - Anyone else going?

Looks like good news/bad news. Hercules was my favorite.

I guess I'll just have to see them all on the ship and pick a new fav.

It looks like we are going to be the last sailing of soft openings for Toy Story, acoording to the Passporter newsletter:

Disney Cruise Line has announced a new theater production joining the entertainment line-up onboard the Disney Wonder. "Toy Story - The Musical" will have soft openings in March prior to it's official debut on April 10, 2008. Eight new songs have been created to join the perennial Toy Story anthem, "You've Got A Friend In Me." The new show will be replacing "Hercules - The Muse-ical."

[Note from Jennifer & Dave: "Hercules, the Muse-ical" has been running for as far back as we can remember. While we didn't know it would be our last chance to see the show, we still made a point of seeing it on the MouseFest cruise this past December -- it's just that entertaining, even after all the times we've seen it! If you'll be cruising on the Disney Wonder during the next couple of months, make sure it's part of your plans.]

Have a great day!

Disney Cruise Line News:

Toy Story - The Musical

The long anticipated Pixar stage show is about to become a reality on the Disney Wonder. Starting in March "Toy Story - The Musical" will be performed in the Walt Disney Theater.

The show features six new songs and and what is described as some of the most complex costumes ever developed for Disney Cruise Line. Among the characters is a 9 foot Rex the Dinosaur, a 4 foot round Hamm piggybank and you can expect to see Mr. Potato Head's parts fall off at the most inopportune time.

A rear projection screen is used as Buzz and Woody begin their adventure from Andy's Room to Pizza Planet and onto the infamous Sid's house.

Toy Story will join the two other productions "The Golden Mickeys" and DCL's award winning "Disney Dreams." That means that Hercules (which was replaced on the Magic awhile ago) will be ending.

Good morning fknaut! I see your green light on!

I have booked the gardens tour for Nassau. One spa "event". I've never been to a spa in my life so I'm looking forward to it. And Palos for the last night out.

I'm trying to think of something new for the characters to sign. DD is past pillowcases. Last time I found a backpack at Target for $3.00 and used that. It turned out great. I may go to JoAnn Etc and get some kind of blank bag and just use that.

See ya real soon!

Atlanta weather forecasters do not know anything. In November they said we would have a warmer and drier winter. Tonight we have received 1 1/2" of snow and now we are getting sleet with a Winter Storm Warning until 3PM tomorrow.

Hi guys!
I've been thinking about you and online shopping for shorts today. I finally decided to give up dieting and just buy bigger pants.:lmao:
I'm looking forward to being "snowed in" this weekend. Pore Ole' DD hasn't seen a decent snowfall for most of her life.

Doing a :cool1:

It feels so real now that we are paid in full and I was able to reserve my excursion! Also went ahead and did the online check-in. On that it says to have Bahama immigration papers completed but I couldn't find those. Can someone direct me to them or is that something I have to pickup in the terminal?

Howdy!

On a recent DIS Unplugged podcast (I think it was from last week) John Magi and the team discussed DCL Trip Planning 101. They mentioned the immigration papers briefly and it sounded like this form was available to complete at the Terminal.

We finally got my wife's passport (there was a printing issue and had to be replaced) so I was able to enter it this evening and then print our contract and signature sheet. ALL SET!

Have a great weekend!

Brian

Thanks, I will be lurking on this board! I have no idea what to expect on the cruise - have cruised with RCCL before, but not with kids...Does anyone here have kids ages 7-10 going with them? Brian, I see your oldest is 9? Can't remember if you said S or D...?

My 8 and 10 year olds are both girls. They are all going to have a lot of fun.

Okay, I'm now caught up on our very small list. :cheer2:

So we should plan a DISmeet first thing, so that all our kids can meet right away:hug: :flower3: pirate: (oh, yeah...we count too). Let's do some research and find out the best way to do this. Are we gonna put LGMH's on our doors? or wear them?

Seeing as I only started posting for this topic, what is an LGMH? :-)

Thanks!

LGMH=Lime Green Mickey Head

If you go to Home Depot's paint section, they carry Disney Paint. The paint chips are shaped like Mickey heads. The color is actually Alien Green. Often at WDW you will see someone wearing laminated LGMHs. I had them attached to my lanyard last year, as did DH. It's a way for DISers to recognize eachother. :thumbsup2

Ah! Interesting!

Which I guess leads to a new question. Is anyone planning to decorate their door? I've seen a number of threads about this, but am unsure if we will decorate or not (or at what level.)

60 days to go!!

That's why I like using the Mickey Heads. It's small and simple, and we don't have to think. Can you tell I don't like decorating?

Hey, I have been catching up with all of your posts...LGMH - I am glad someone else asked, cause I had no idea! LOL! I will definitely put one on our door. We are on deck 8 about mid ship. How about everyone else? My DD9 is very excited, so she would love to meet all the other kids. My DS7 - well, I am sure he will get excited at some point!

Hey, on another note - I just won a trip to Mexico this week! I am very excited, because DH and I weren't going to be able to go away alone anytime soon. The resort is a 5 star all inclusive! I never win anything! Of course, it won't be as good as Disney...

It will seem almost as good as Disney. I mean, no kids....:thumbsup2

OK, being new to DCL, I have been lurking on the boards and reading about fish extenders. Yah, I had no idea what they were, but my question was answered when another newbie asked. So, are we on the April 6th cruise going to do fish extenders? And if so, how many of you are, and what sorts of things do you leave for others? I had been planning to bring a few items anyways, and have already started planning our family's pirate costumes...so, are you up for it?

58 days and counting down...anybody else leaving from Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, or other Disney Resort? Maybe we will see you on the bus? Or is it called Magical Express? I hope they are the new Disney Cruise Line buses!

Hey, I see RoE is at POR before. Maybe we will see you on the bus!

Are there only a handful of us DISers so far?
