My $100,000 initial Aulani DVC investment and many $1000’s in annual dues say otherwise.

Next time you’re there, read the sign for the cups:

REFILLABLE MUGS TO BE USED AT RESORT REFILLABLE MUG STATIONS FOR UNLIMITED SOFT DRINHS, TEA, & COFFEE

The sign would say something like during your current stay or similar, or they would chip them like other resorts if they wanted to limit them. Also ask the workers in Ulu Café and they will say the same. We asked again once they started selling the more expensive stainless ones and got the same answer as always; ok to bring back next time.

If you're so rich you can probably afford to pay for your Diet Coke.

Well. Most of us are wrong. Here is the current signage and I spoke with 2 separate cast members that confirmed you can bring back your Aulani resort mug on any trip and use it. No extra charge necessary.

That sounds nice for the locals who stay there. I couldn't imagine packing a cup to save a few bucks, but I don't drink a lot of soda and I like espresso type coffees. So, the value isn't there for me, but woot for those who drink a lot of that stuff.

Thanks for posting. This is more than what I paid. Maybe so many abused the system they decided to just charge more up front and let it go.

That’s literally the price of TWO mugs at Walt Disney World!

The stainless steel souvenir mugs are MUCH nicer than the crappy plastic ones and easily worth $20 extra.

(Aulani also sells the crappy plastic ones, and yes those too are more expensive than WDW.)

But the sign is. You notice it doesn’t say for the duration of your stay any longer. Choose to believe and do what you would like. I’m just showing you what is posted and what I’m told.
