April 6, 2008 - 4-night Spring Break Cruise - Anyone else going?

Movies playing during our cruise:
College Road Trip
Enchanted
National Treasure 2
Ratatouille
Steppin' Up to the Streets
Game Plan

Anyone know what the adult oriented movies are on board? Last time we went on the cruise (granted it was four years ago) there were PG-13 and R rated movies that played in the evenings.

oops.. just realized there are some PG-13 movies on the list. We went for 7 days last time, so I am sure there were more choices on the longer cruise. Thanks for getting the info!!

Also, on the water thing.. I just called the cruise line to make sure that soft side coolers are ok- and they confirmed that they were fine to bring aboard as long as there are no perishable "home baked goods"- whatever that might be- and no ice. Water, alcohol, etc. is fine to bring on board with your carry on bags. :goodvibes

Thanks for calling on the water issue. DH wants to bring Diet Dr Pepper on board. That's his favorite wake up drink. We had finally decided to bring it anyway since the worst they could do is take it away from us.

On those "Home Baked" perishables, does that mean that Uncle Bob's special Brownies are not allowed? :rotfl:

I just went to check in online and noticed that it must be done at least 48 hours in advance of the trip (April 4th). I just wanted to let everyone know- in case you tend to procrastinate like me...

You can check the kids in (but will need to pick up the pager and arm bands, etc. at the port) ahead of time as well.

It seems this is the one part of the Disney web site that works pretty well..

I have not. What exactly are the travel documents I would be looking for?
I've done the online check-in and have all that printed out.
My WDW room & tickets are separate from the cruise.

Hey Kyirish,

I have close to the same setup as you (in terms of documents.) I received an envelope that included:
- a "Check list" brochure. This has some very short "to-do" style items that you should consider before leaving. It also has a nice map of the airport and how to get to the Disney Welcome Center (which you may use if you are using Magical Express to get to your resort.) On the back it also has some info about the number to call to learn where and when to meet for the DCL bus (also look for the DCL desk at the resort.)

-a smaller "stylized" envelope that includes a "Your Travel Booklet" for each guest on the cruise. This booklet includes pull-out pages (similar to some airline boarding passes). Some of the pages just have policy info, but the first page has all of your mailing info and reservation number, et cetera. Ground transfers are in there too.

-DCL luggage tags to be used to get your bags to the ship.

I am not sure if there was anything else; I have taken this all apart and put in the binder I am using to carry all of our travel docs and Passports, et cetera.

My suggestion would be to call DCL directly at this point, even if you used a travel agent. I would think they would be able to determine if your documents were shipped to you yet or not, as well as help determine next steps if there is not enough time to get them to you before you head south.

Good luck! See you soon!

Brian

Hi everyone,

I've been following an interesting thread about getting your passports stamped at each port of call. I didn't realize you could do this. Just take your passports to Guest Services the night before arriving at a port. They will give you a receipt for your passport, then have the passports stamped by an official from the port.

I'm trying to convince my husband to go another 4 day DCL and I"m not having much luck. Was wondering if someone would send me a postcard from CC.? I'll reimburse, of course.

Maybe if I get a postcard or two, he'll get the message! LOL

Just PM and I'l send you my address. I know this its last minute because your all getting ready for this week!

May you all have Magical Memories on your vacation!

Thanks!

:welcome: I've added you to the list. In case you missed the info, there are a few of us meeting at the pool at the Radisson on Saturday night at 7:00, and everyone who can is meeting at the Goofy Pool at 3:00 on Sunday.

I have a question about dress.

I know that we are supposed to dress differently for dinner than the rest of the day, but what exactly does that mean. And what is expected on formal night.

One of you may already have mentioned this, but I am now in organizational mode.

No shorts at dinner. What formal night? Except maybe the night at Triton's.

I was under the impression that the dinners were "cruise casual" aside from 1 "dress-up" night. To me cruise casual is sorta a anything goes besides bathing suits, tank tops, etc. For dress-up night I figured it would be equal to business casual with khakis, polos, dress pants, etc. Then there is pirate night where I know some go all out with pirate costumes and such.

I've packed black skirt, black slacks and several dressy tops to match with those. For DH he has khaki pants and polo shirts and then a button down dress top for the dressy night. I'll let DS wear shorts and polos aside from dressy night where I'll make him put on pants. For pirate night we each have a pirate t-shirt and I'm wearing mine with a pair of capris.

Of course this is my 1st Disney cruise so I may be way off.

As far as I know there is not a full on "Formal" night on the 4 day.

They do "suggest" a dress up night IDK how that is decided anymore. DH will probably ignore it and go with Polo and Docker's everynight.

I have linen skirts and casual tops for dinner.

DD has two dressier things planned, more like coctail dresses for the teen crowd. Keep in mind that she does this for herself and not for any dress code.

Pirate night you can dress like a pirate or "tropical" dress. You will get a pirate bandana to complete your outfit at dinner.

DH has some totally wild pants for pirate night

Just wear what you would to a casual restaurant. Lots of ladies wear capris and matching tops. Some ladies wear pants. Some ladies wear very nice upscale outfits.

The only real dressy place is Palos where they want at least a dress shirt on the men. I think they prefer a coat and tie. We are skipping that.

All in all you are right, just keep the swimsuits at the pool. Jeans and Shorts are for the kiddos just like when you visit Grandma.

Sunny? Have you checked the weather? Yikes!

Oh well, a rainy day on vacation is better than a sunny day at home!:beach:

Cruise documents are still MIA

I've talked with my travel agent and she is trying to track them down. However, is there anything in there that I MUST have to board? I have done the online check-in and have all that paperwork. According to that checklist the only things I'm missing is the Bahama Immigration form and the luggage tags. Both of which I believe you can get at the port. Is there something else?

IDK from personal experience but I have HEARD that you will be just fine.
The online check in took care of all the paperwork. Anything else you can do at the desk. The only other thing missing is luggage tags and they are supposed to have extras at the port that you can use.

I don't remember off the top of my head but I think you are driving right?
