April 6, 2008 - 4-night Spring Break Cruise - Anyone else going?

Oh well.:sad1: I guess we'll see you at 3:00 on Sunday instead.:thumbsup2

Yeah we could never figure out the best place to stop in Georgia if we left after school on Friday so we are just going to pull him out of school for the day and fly down Friday morning. Plus we were able to get an AP rate for both before and after the cruise :cool1:

I can't wait to meet everyone!!!

Hi everyone!

I have my computer setup to have different desktops from a couple of photo feeds online. One of those feeds has photos from someone's Disney Cruise Line vacation, and I noticed a photo that looked like the people were standing on a balcony right next to the ship. In looking at some more photos of the DCL Terminal (taken from wither the Magic or Wonder), I can now see this balcony, and it appears that there are doors that lead to the balcony from inside the terminal near the Mickey tunnel to the ship.

Somehow in our 2001 cruise and in all the research I've done about DCL, I never knew this was there. I am hoping to take my family out on the balcony and get a few photos of us in front of the ship. It looks like it may be possible to get an angle where the "Wonder" name on the side of the ship will be in the background.

Here's an example from a Flickr pool of DCL photos: http://flickr.com/photos/22726831@N00/391666282/in/pool-disneycruise

Just thought I would share! We got our ticket books and our Magical Express luggage tags (for going to Port Orleans Riverside) all on the same day last week. Lots of Pixie Dust all in one day!

Take care,

Brian

Hey Brian,

We have been out on that balcony and I think DH has taken pics of the ship. Somehow we didn't think to take pics with one of us in it. The area's always been too windy for my taste. Curly hair ya'know.@:)

That is so cool! I can't wait 2.5 more weeks.

I have another question I was hoping someone could answer for me...I booked the REAS package, and get the Palo dining one night as part of that. I asked my TA to book a time around 7 pm for the last night, but she booked it for 7 pm for the first night. So my question is, is there anything going on the first night, either before or after that I might miss with a 7 PM dinner? I'm thinking the last night might not be a good night anyway, as I will want to pack up, and spend time with my kids. The Sail Away deck party is at 4:15 isn't it?

Also, does anyone know what time we will be on board if we take the ME from WDW? I thought I saw somewhere in another thread that these people were some of the last to board, which makes me think I won't be able to get in lineup to change my reservation anyways...any thoughts? My mother will be on early, so can I get her to change the ressie if she has the number?

OK, it was more than one question. Sorry.

Just thought I'd throw our hat in the ring.
Residence Inn before / home after.
First time cruise for all: myself, DH, DS 5, DS 3.
Likely plan to stay on board in Nassau.

Will try to meet up with y'all at the pool at 3p on Sun.

See you soon, Elizabeth

Hi Joanie!

If you have your Disney Cruise Line reservation number from your travel agent, you should be able to login to the My Cruise section at http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/ and see the details of your reservation. I am not sure if you can modify the time for your Palo reservation or not. I created my reservation online and was able to get the time I wanted; however I have not tried to modify it so I am not sure if this will help you or not.

The obvious thing you may be pressed for time on Sunday night would be the stage show. Do you know if you have early or late dining for the regular restaurants?

The Sail Away deck party is at 4:15 isn't it?

Correct. Mandatory Safety Drill is around 4:00 and then Sail Away starts after the drill concludes.

Also, does anyone know what time we will be on board if we take the ME from WDW?

Everything I have seen indicates that those of us at the WDW resorts will meet near a DCL desk at our resorts between 10:00 am and 11:00 am, with the buses leaving between 11:00 and noon. I believe it takes just a bit more than an hour to get from WDW to the Terminal.

I thought I saw somewhere in another thread that these people were some of the last to board, which makes me think I won't be able to get in lineup to change my reservation anyways...any thoughts?

I think you will be in good shape based on the times above (which come from the latest Passporter's Guide to Disney Cruise Line.

My mother will be on early, so can I get her to change the ressie if she has the number?

I am not sure of this, but would think that with the reservation number she could switch it if that is what you decide to do.

Good luck!

Brian

Hi everybody,
And an extra special howdy to Elizabeth and crew. I look forward to seeing you there.

I finally caught DD counting down the days to the trip today. It looks like I'm not the only one that's excited.

My son is gonna have so much fun! All these 5 and 6 year old boys!

Okay, so I can't wait to get focussed on this trip! Next weekend, however, I am taking my Girl Scout Troop camping. It's all I think about if I'm gonna be ready for it. I love Girl Scout Camping trips, but I can't believe I asked for the weekend before the cruise! What was I thinking? :confused3 I don't even know if I have clothes that fit me for the cruise!

Anyway, I just had to let that bit of stress out of my system. And as my DH could (and probably will) confirm, I really am doing NOTHING but Girl Scout stuff lately. First the Cookies, now this! Poor guy!:flower3:

Hello to all. Are you ready yet? I am getting there. Just read the boards and found out that we are not able to bring water or beer on board. That is a bummer, but one less thing to worry about. Jenny, I am in the same boat as you. I will be out of town next weekend due to my DS8 making the all-star baseball team. So I will have to try to get packed and ready during the week. I am beyond excited and actually getting nervous. I have a lot to still do before we set sail. Hope all is well with you all. Take care, Tania

Can't you pack water bottles in the suitcase with the softside cooler? We plan on it.

There was a very long thread on the dis board forum that I was reading yesterday. It seems that the Coast Guard is the one who is not allowing the liquids to be brought on board. Also as far as shipping boxes ahead of time is not allowed anymore. That is what I am understanding. Let me know if you hear anything different. Thanks, Tania

Thanks, Brian, you are a wonderful source of information! :)

Counting down the days, now. We leave on April 3 for Disney! I can't believe I have kept the cruise from my kids for so long, I never thought I would be able to! Now I have to figure out a clever way to tell them.

See you all real soon!

Has everyone gotten their travel documents? Just wondering if I should start worrying yet or not.

Has everyone gotten their travel documents? Just wondering if I should start worrying yet or not.

About a week ago I received my documents from the Disney Cruise Line and our Magical Express stuff for getting to Port Orleans from the airport the day before the cruise.

From what I have read DCL usually sends documents about a week before the cruise. However, in more busy season (read: NOW) they try to get them out sooner. I would suggest calling your travel agent (if you used one) and or Disney Cruise Line directly and inquiring. It can't hurt!

Take care,

Brian
