April 5-10 how busy is it really?

I've always gone to Disney during off season and now I'm starting to panic hearing that this is a busy time of year. Is it really that bad? Also as far as the EE days what time does it usually start getting packed? I mean is it worth it to get up extra early only for an hour in the park? I know the EE is great but those also end up the busiest days for the park!
