April 29, 2012 ~ Aloha! ~ Wonder to Hawaii- who is with me?

Wow...I would have taken the $200 per night rate, I was quoted $275.

I was just coming back on to post that I called again and the CM I got this time was more knowledgeable and while I did get a different price quoted for Paradise Pier (this time $266/night), I asked about CAA/AAA or Senior Rates (traveling with my Mom and this year got a great rate at DLH). He told me that the "discounts" for 2012 won't be out until August or September. He told me right now all the bookings are at Rack Rates. He said I could book now and try in August to see if a discount is available....I decided I'm going to wait until August and try again then.
Thanks for the heads up . We booked online last evening for 6 nights after at Paradise Pier. First 4 nights ( mon - thurs @ 293) ( fri - sat @ 340).... Alot more expensive then rate last sept!!!! We will watch for special rates then flip it. ...sharon

I've been to Hawaii a few times now and while I love it, the main attraction is a long cruise out of LA - we prefer the 14/15 day cruises and love DCL, but more importantly, enjoy the onboard activities with Disfriends - old and new.

I agree!

IM ENGAGED!!!! :lovestruc

I got engaged last week while i was in disney world at epcot during illuminations.

Congratulations!

A guest shut down my computer and I cannot find the link for one of the disboard windows I had open. I wanted to show a friend the pictures taken on the LA-Vancouver repo cruise when you went under the Golden Gate Bridge that a few posted and one that was posted my a member that took one of the deck of the Wonder from the Golden Gate Bridge. I thought it was one of the Alaska cruise windows, but none of the ones I have checked have had them. I thought maybe they were on this link but can't find them. Does anyone know which thread they were on - I am obviously lost.....

I took some photos of the Wonder from the Lion's Gate bridge. But they are not posted on the Dis, they are available on my facebook page. I have opened that album up so anyone can see them...

I can't add a link right now, but I will edit this post later with the link to the photos.

You can get Duffy both places. At least he was on the MR cruise. You can get a Duffy Bear at CA adventures just as you are passing into the Paradise Pier area or at Enginears Toys on the right as you come into the park. Duffy loves cruising so get him before you come on board.

Plus there are lots of cruise line specific clothing for him. Unfortunately, it all says "Duffy" on it, otherwise, my teddies would be all over the new duds.

We just booked 2 nights at the Grand Cal for after the cruise! So excited that we are getting closer to the sail date!

We did too!! Did you use points? We did & it's the first day we could book it.

...which worked perfectly & gave us a grand total of zero 2012 points left!! :lmao:

Love the GCV!!!!

I'm so jealous! We don't own at GCV.....we have Saratoga and Animal Kingdom...so we have to wait until the 7 month window...and we're very afraid we won't be able to get a reservation! And to make matters stickier....we would easily do a studio or 1 BR by ourselves....but we're also dreaming of combining points with a couple other DVC friends who are on this cruise to try to get a 3 BR, a 2BR or a 2BR lock off (a 1 BR with an attached Studio)!!

Aloha fellow cruisers! :wizard:
Wow... only 320 more days to go!
I just discovered all the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet!!:scared1: I think we're good to go now.. but I guess I've got to keep better track of what's going on!! Sheesh you guys are busy!!

I am sooooo very envious...but very happy for you indeed! I will also have to wait until the 7 month mark to book my one night before AND my one night after...DRAT! I wanted to use up my remaining 2011 and 2012 points as well. What are the chances of a 1 BR (or even a studio) at 7 months if I book the exact day the window opens? :confused3

And it is yet again another rainy and cool day in Massachusetts...:sad2: ...But it beats having a tornado touching down only a quarter mile away! :scared1::scared1:

I really can't wait for our DCL cruise to Hawaii! :dance3:

Wow seeing what some are paying for rooms and such before or after the cruise makes me really happy I live in Los Angeles about 20 min north of the port.

I just priced out the Paradise Pier & Disneyland hotel....$290 & $385 for the night of the 28th only. GC doesn't even come up available. :scared1:

I am keeping my fingers crossed for VGC at 7 months as well. I think if we can't get this, we will research a plan B while we are at Disneyland this year.

Wow - that may be a little tricky going for the 3 br!!! But wishing you good luck!!! :cheer2: We are just 2 this time, so a studio works for us. The 1 bedrooms are wonderful there though & I believe there are just 2 of the biggies which are amazing. BTW We own at the same ones as you - Saratoga & AK, but we live in CA, so it was important to us to snag some GCV pts!!

Thanks!!! Yep, we called each day as each date became available & booked 2 nights pre & 2 nts post....4 times...lol But so happy to get it because we like to take the train down to Anaheim from the central coast where we are. I do hope you have good results & it may be fine - it really is early in the season for things to get toooo busy there, so I'm hopeful you guys will have success!

Good luck to you too! Maybe we will have a chance to meet a few of you before the cruise. :hippie:

We are in the same boat (haha). We own at BCV,SSR and now AKV so cannot book until 7 months out. We don't care where we stay as long as it is at DL. In '07 we stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and loved it.

Yes they are busy. Reminds me of the good ole days when some of us posted 10 times a day. :goodvibes
Gonna have to make more of an effort to keep up.

Can someone explain what all the acronyms mean you have been using in the last few posts about booking rooms...can't understand you at all :)
