Ok, makes sense...I was trying to die it to DL -hotel reservation discussions- and could not figure it out :-)

Can someone explain what all the acronyms mean you have been using in the last few posts about booking rooms...can't understand you at all :)

I know someone posted the acronyms so that should make it easier. I sometimes forget that not everyone has been on the boards forever. Sorry about that :)

Thanks!!! Yep, we called each day as each date became available & booked 2 nights pre & 2 nts post....4 times...lol But so happy to get it because we like to take the train down to Anaheim from the central coast where we are. I do hope you have good results & it may be fine - it really is early in the season for things to get toooo busy there, so I'm hopeful you guys will have success!

Good luck to you too! Maybe we will have a chance to meet a few of you before the cruise. :hippie:

.
Keep your fingers crossed for all of us...and maybe a bucket load of pixie dust is called for as well! :rotfl:

And it would be great to meet up with everyone pre-sail at VCG! :yay::yay:

Good luck and pixie dust to all of you trying for VGC at the 7 month window!

We are in the same boat (haha). We own at BCV,SSR and now AKV so cannot book until 7 months out. We don't care where we stay as long as it is at DL. In '07 we stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and loved it.

We own at Old Key West. So far we have been lucky and always got what we wanted when we wanted. Long may it continue. If we can't get Grand Californian then I think Disneyland Hotel would be our second choice.

For our canal cruise this year I did snag a studio on the 7 month mark. Being the weekend it was prime points. I am also waiting on SW to come out with flights. Currenly we have Candy Cane for 2 nights but now we might come in Saturday and stay over on Monday. Will just have to wait and see as it looks like most of the flights back to florida we will not make on Monday. We have stayed at all 3 places and loved GCV.

Yeah, before the LA repo, we (with a friend) were able to get a Studio and an adjoining 1 bedroom at the 7 month mark, too....for a Friday through Wed. reservation...yes it was expensive for points but it was worth it. We LOVED the resort and the villas.

I concur with what some others have said....if we can't get a Grand Californian rservation we'll probably trade out points for a room at either DL hotel or Paradise Pier.

All this talk reminded me that I was in the window to call for VGC!! Called today and got a studio for the night before we leave on the cruise. Thanks for the reminder folks!! :thumbsup2Was going to stay at the port.. but since I've got to pay transportation anyway, might as well stay at VGC and get a mini DL fix. ;) Signed up for the charter bus!

Sorry to get of the topic of rooms but I have a question for you all, especially since a lot of you have taken longer cruises. I was wondering if anyone had a extra set of '08 eastbound PC pins they would be willing to trade for a westbound set? I know it is a long shot, but I have to ask.

We are also hoping for a 1 bedroom at VGC before the cruise. We also have to wait until the 7 month window as we own at OKW and HH. It sounds like there are going o be a lot of us at VGC before the cruise (Hopefully). Maybe we can all meet up for dinner somewhere.

That would be so great! Even if many of us end up at the other DL area hotels (and not VGC ) , we could still plan to meet up somewhere at least for a drink or two the night before! :woohoo: party:

Jason and I will almost certainly be doing a World of Color dinner package on Saturday (hopefully at Ariel's Grotto)...but if there was another meet of some sort, count us in! :)

A bit off topic..... but I keep wondering how to best do that show. It's a long time to stand there imo...lol Just curious how the WOC dinner worked for you, if you did it before? We could see the show from our room there a few times, & did the standing thing once, but when I looked into doing the dinner show for some comfy seats, a CM told me they close the park down before the show (including the restaurant), so you really have to move away from the seating anyway...?

It is a cool show though & nice to have something at DCA for a change - for a while we were getting the boot at 6 pm in that park. :lmao:

Not off topic at all, really! :) We did the dinner package this past April before the LA repo and Alaskan cruise. It works actually just like the Fantasmic packages for dinner do at Hollywood Studios in Florida. You have to make a special reservation for the dinner package and they're only available at certain restaurants (I know that the Italian one and Ariel's are two of them...there might be a 3rd, can't remember). There is a set fee for your meal and I think you order off a more limited menu. Your dinner is actually well before the show but your server gives you a ticket that tells the number of guests in your dining party. They tell you a meeting place to be at and a time to be there. The time is a little while before your scheduled show is due to start but it is WAY after that huge heinous line of people starts. You show up at the meeting place and when they're ready, they take all the dinner package folks to a special roped off area to watch the show. There is no seating in this area (just like I dont think there's really seating anywhere for the show) but you are DEAD CENTER and close to the front/water and it's a lot less congested (our experience is that they had a MUCH bigger area reserved for dinner package folks than was necessary to fit us all-----so unlike the general masses, we were packed in shoulder to shoulder like sardines). It was really the BEST way to see this show....because we got a nice dinner, we didn't wast oodles of time in line, we were comfortable while watching the show and we had amazing viewing area. We will definitely be doing this dining package anytime we go and want to see World of Color in the future!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We LOVED dinner at Ariel's grotto!

There is no seating - but you will be glad you did the dinner package. Lines of hordes of people are staged all over the park for hours before the show. We were in the handicap area - and while the view wasn't the best for those of us on ecv's and wheel chairs because of the people standing in the next area forward, it was MUCH more pleasant than it would have been had we not had the dinner package. You can't - like at EPCOT - pick a spot and hang out for hours beforehand.
