April 29, 2012 ~ Aloha! ~ Wonder to Hawaii- who is with me?

I am trying to get my flights taken care of. I am so frustrated having to deal with a small airport and huge prices. Since SW prices seem to be going up it might not be worth it for my DH to drive 2 hours to get there.

So my question...........I found a returning flight but it's on the red eye.:scared1: For those familar with LAX do they have a day pass at a Hotel like the one at the Hyatt in Orlando ?

What if I took Disney transportation to the park ? Where would I store my luggage ? Anyone else considering this ? Wondering if I would just be to tired.:confused3

I don't want to stay overnight in LA just want to get home.

For those that live in CA........I am so jealous. I am also happy for you. ;)

Join us for a Pajama breakfast on September 18 at 10:00 AM at Lumiere's. We will meet outside Lumiere's at 9:50 AM to take group pictures. If you are interested, please PM Mandy (MandyGirl) with the number in your party.

We came to one Pajama Breakfast and we even got in the photo. Last year on the 2010 WBTA, we were left out because we have to enter Lumiere's from the back entrance and everyone else met in the front for a photo. I am going to make sure we split up this time....Chuck and I and Patrick will wait out front until everyone else is there, then go around to sit. I think that will work out better.

My DH and I will be flying out at 10pm the Monday we disembark. yeck. I ask a Disney rep how early we should be booking flights back from LAX, and she said we shouldn't book anything before 1pm. The last flight out in the am was 1105am, the earliest flight back after that one is 10pm, which will get us into Boston at 630am on Tuesday--double yeck. but what can you do. I don't think we will be heading over to Disneyland, but you never know. I'm not sure what we would do with out luggage. We might just end up wandering around LAX.

Ouch!! :sad2::headache: We have not found LAX to be like Orlando. I have not seen any nice shopping area or central restaurants. I would be very sad to spend hours and hours there! Keep looking and find something else to do for the day. Surely there are LA folks who can give some ideas for luggage storage and a nice daytrip.

it's now 102 degrees in upstate new york.

Could you take Disney transportation to the Grand Californian, Valet your luggage spend the day at DL. Then get a shuttle to the airport? I found Karmel Shuttle to be reasonable and reliable.

I am finding it is common for the late flight from West coast to East coast. That stinks !!!!:sad2: I don't feel comfortable renting and driving a car in a area I am not famliar with. At least we have the time now to try and figure it out.

So I went out to lunch today with my DH ( Chuck ). Conversation went like this.

Me: Honey what do you think I could do for those 15 hours I have to wait before catching my flight.

Chuck: Why don't you do a reenactment of the movie " The Terminal ". :rotfl2:

Driving is easy in LA. I had no problem last before the repo/Alaska cruise. I had a car for 3 days.

Those of you with long wait to catch flights home....have you asked Disney travel if there is anything set up for luggage storage at Disneyland? Now that they have cruises every week there I think they may have a place you can store. If they say no-- I have found they are not always 100% knowledgeable -- call Disneyland Hotel and ask about leaving baggage in valet for day. I found that hotel to be geared to be very customer pleasing. A shuttle from port to hotel and then shuttle to airport later in the day should be really easy from there. Just a suggestion. I an driving down from Seattle so my only issue is to find parking. I went on original west coast cruise during Disneyland's 50th and if it is out of same port we were able to park a few feet from ship:) I am hoping it is still the same.

That depends on where you are used to driving. If you aren't comfortable in heavy traffic..multiple freeway type situations it could be really stressful. You definitely need good directions and it really helps to have a passanger to read the signs way ahead while you are watching the bumpers around you:rotfl2:

Hi Gydell, It really isn't for me. It is just to stressful for me. I will figure something out.:)

Thanks I wonder if any of the Disneyland Hotels have some kind of day pass ? I probaly would be to tired for the parks but see myself just relaxing by the pool.

Do you know me ? :rotfl2: You just described me. Now if I lived there given time I would slowly get used to it. Can't do that in a day and I wouldn't attempt it by myself.

I am so excited but still need a little help.:surfweb: I found the perfect flights for me and want to book them tonight. I know somebody said that Disney says not to book a flight before 1:00 pm. I found a flight that leaves at 1:35. If it were you would you feel confident in making the flight ? I also think I might do the ground transportation one way to help get me to the airport. Does United have the transfer of luggage program with Disney ? Never used it before. Sorry for so many questions.:rolleyes1 The last time we were on a 15 day getting off the ship was soooo different from regular cruise. It took forever !! Thanks

You will be fine with that flight time. I don't know about the flight transfers in LA.

hello cruisers!

I am a silver castaway who just got back from an alaskan cruise on the wonder. WOW - best time of my life. I want to book another cruise and I am dead set on Hawaii. It is an added bonus that my 35th birthday falls during the cruise - May 10th.

Any tips on how I can best land an inside cabin? The countdown to Hawaii is on!
:cool1:

Thanks ! I am looking into Disney ground transportation one way. I am not sure if super shuttle picks up from port. Taking Disney will be perfect way to end cruise.:)

Did you book a dummy date onboard? I'd say get hooked up with a travel agent that will keep a check on it for you. That is our plan for friends that are taking their first DCL cruise to Alaska with us next week. They want to sail Hawaii with us as well. We will book a dummy day WAY out for them and then ask DU to take that booking and get an inside room for them on this cruise.

Trying to do some research on hotel room prices at Disneyland etc and they say they are doing maintenance and to call to reservations:rolleyes1
