Hi Everyone!!!!!
So, I've been away from the boards for a while, I had my baby boy Orlando on the 1st August, he is perfect in everyway.:love::love:
We sold our house and bought another and are moving in a month, so between looking after a newborn and packing to move house I haven't had much spare time!
Can someone please let me know if there is anything major I've missed?
Has anything been finalised with the FE's?
Thanks guys :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes
Hayley

Congratulations on the new baby, Hayley! There's nothing quite like a new baby in the family (my newest DGD Mia will be one month old on Thursday and she, DD, and DGD Riley are still staying with us).

My son just booked me a flight to San Francisco the first week of December! He's moving to Palo Alto for his job the middle of October, but he has no apartment, he has to buy a car, and the first week of November he's going to New York City for his job.

So......he's leaving the cat with us (our grandcat) and I am taking her out to him in December. I have never flown with an animal (only Chuck and Patrick) anybody got any advice?

This is probably not the right thread to ask this, but you all seemto know everything!

Connie

I have never taken a cat on a plane but have sat next to someone who had one in a carry-on that slipped under the seat in front of them. The poor thing was worse then a crying baby, but at least it wasn't in the luggage area. I would visit your vet and see if they can suggest something you can give it. Then I would call the airline and see if you can carry it on. I hope it isn't a siamese, like my poor baby was, they talk alot.

I found this article on air travel with a pet
http://www.petfriendlytravel.com/airtravel

Pet Air Travel & Airline Pet Travel Policies
The Humane Society of the United States recommends that you do not transport your pet by air unless absolutely necessary. If you must transport your pet by air, your first decision is whether you can take your pet in the aircraft cabin with you, which is your best option. If your pet is a cat or small dog, some airlines will allow you to take the animal on board for an additional fee.
The article goes on to say you should never sedate your animal inorder to travel with them. Also, there is a list of airlines that allow you to travel with a cat in the passenger area of the plane at the bottom of the article. It looks like most domestic airlines do allow you to bring them on.

Please Post on PAGE ONE. Thanks.

Congratulations and good luck on the move.

We have booked this cruise along with a MR cruise Jan 29 - Feb 5 and a Aulani stay Feb 5 -18, I need some advice from the experts.

We are able to start booking excursions for the Hawaii cruise on January 30, 2012 but we will be on the MR cruise at that time. The cruise ends on Feb 5 and we will be heading to Aulani that day. By the time we get back I am afraid everything will be booked solid.

I am trying to figure out how I will be able to book our Hawaii cruise excursions etc on January 30. Does anyone know if GS onboard will be able to help with this. Buying internet minutes won't be an option (we had minutes on our Alaskan cruise this year and it was almost impossible to log on, and we finally gave up trying):confused3

Any advice would be greatly appreciated....guess I shouldn't have booked so many things all together, do you think we are turning into Disney fanatics:rotfl2:

I would give a friend back home your DCL log in in the hopes they could do it for you. Or get linked to a Platinum member, that would work as well.

Hayley congrats. Glad to see you and the baby are doing well.

Seriously? You can get linked to platinum member?!? Who wants to link me?!?:rotfl2:

I talked to DCL today and got confirmation that they have been told they cannot have a wait list for accessible cabins. But the agent I talked to did not know about it and went to check with a supervisor. She was really surprised it was stopped. Then my travel agent called to tell me she is transferring from Washington AAA to Hawaii in a week so I am moving to a new agent. Hope she can stay on top of calling daily to watch for a room. Only good news is my moving agent will be there to greet us at one of the ports of call :)

Once you get to Hawaii you should have decent internet, maybe you could book then. What a fun and awesome time you are going to have, even if you are Disney fanatics. ;)

Pick me, pick me too!!!!

I'm not sure the linking will allow you to book earlier. Although I thought it would also, but on our Alaska cruise we had 2 platinum rooms and one first time cruiser room all linked. In the platinum rooms there was one platinum member and one silver member in each. I was able to book for the all the people in the platinum rooms at the platinum date, but could not book the first time cruisers until 45 days out. Nothing in Palo left at that time, of course, so I had to go to the Palo booking in Studio Sea first day and get that couple hooked up with us for dinner and brunch.

Oh.. We aren't cancelling!.. I just booked a 10B instead. Something a bit bigger and with the split bathrooms. There are 4 of us, 2 of which are almost 5yr old, and a 2 yr old boy, so a bit bigger is a bit better!

I've been trying anywhere from 5-10 times a day to downgrade 1 of the cabins I'm a TA for & can't seem to get lucky!

I have done it in the past, most recently for the Panana Canal cruise. I have been told by several people at DCL incuding my friend in Shoreside Conceargie that is the way to do it. You just can't have more than 4 rooms and no more than 10 people linked together.

Thanks, we are going to take her to the vet for advice before I bring her. I am flying Virgin American, and they do allow small aniimals in the passenger compartment for a $100 fee. I don't really want to "put her to sleep" but I know she's not a good traveller in the car, so I would at least like her to be drowsy. I am going to get the pet carrier now and put her favorite play mat in it so it won't smell new to her. That should help!
