Three Things...Gratitude Thread

1. My grandma S- she drank coffee all day and her house always smelled like hot coffee. Any time I smell coffee I think of her.
2. Mocha- DH and I enjoy Mocha- there was a little place a couple miles down the road that had delicious mocha. It always helped get rid of my migraines there was so much caffeine. BUT I can't have dairy anymore and they went out of business.
3. DS- my son enjoys a cup of coffee often.
My fathers family lived on perked coffee. No other type would do. When I visited my grandparents for a few day each summer, my bed was on the second floor and the smell of perked coffee permeated the whole house. Funny thing though, as much as I loved the smell I never latched onto coffee as a beverage. My father always had a cup of coffee close at hand and I honestly never noticed if my Mom did or not. The rest of the family though lived on black coffee and cigarettes. I guess it's not surprising that none of them lived past their 60's. I like subtle coffee flavors, like Coffee Ice Cream and Tiramisu, I can't remember when the last time was that I drank a cup of coffee. Both of my children are just casual coffee drinkers socially. I have one grandson that is heavy into French Press, but he is the only one out of four.

I don't drink coffee either! It's too bitter, but I LOVE the smell of it. My grandma lived to be 95 and her coffee was perked too. She always had a cup of coffee in her hand and her house smelled of coffee.

Good Tuesday Morning!

I’m going with sticky food items today….

#1 - PEANUT BUTTER - One of my most favorite food items. I love love love my Jif peanut butter. I’m grateful for it about 5 times a week :goodvibes

#2 - HONEY - I really like putting honey in my chamomile tea during the cold weather months. I also like putting it on my oatmeal.

#3 - SYRUP - I love maple syrup and also blueberry syrup. If I could eat pancakes with syrup every day, I would -LOL! But since it’s nothing but a plate full of carbs, I don’t eat pancakes with syrup that often - booooo :sad1:

Sticky things . . .

Cinnamon honey - there is a local store that sells the best cinnamon honey. Could just eat it from the jar with a spoon. When I bake the Pillsbury cinnamon rolls I put a little dab of the cinnamon honey on before placing them in the oven. Boy does that boost the cinnamon flavor!

Hair spray. If it isn’t sticky, it doesn’t work.

Rubber soled shoes. If they didn’t have some stick to the soles, I would spend a lot more time sitting on the floor than walking on it.

Actually I have ran into a lot of people lately that just don’t drink coffee and quite frankly I don’t understand that but good for you that you can function without coffee because I can’t comprehend that🤣🤣🤣 but I am quite amazed and impressed that you can do that because when I have had to go without coffee I cannot function🤣🤣🤣🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ but I am not a happy person to be around!!’ Tea is OK but I just prefer coffee I think it smells amazing I wish it taste as greatest as it smells don’t get me wrong I love the taste of coffee but it smells a lot better than it taste and I do drink my coffee black no sugar no cream nothing in it just straight up coffee

If they're like me, they just caffeinate/energize in other ways. I am currently drinking a protein shake mixed with caffeinated lemonade and creatine. So, I'm getting liquid power...just not through the standard coffee route.

Sticky things:

Maple syrup. LOVE maple syrup, lose my mind when people let it drip down the side of the bottle and don't wipe it up!

Toasted marshmallows- or marshmallow fluff!

For a different type of sticky, I'll go with velcro!

Vinyl Tiling - Trying to save some $ and didn't feel like calling the handyman just yet to patch something, but I found some large vinyl tiles with adhesive backing. They match the marble counter, so I just stuck it over the hole. It makes it look far less unsightly and all for about $5. It's a good temp fix that's sticky.

Water brushed fondant - If you've ever wondered how all of those decorations stay on cakes, all it takes is a little bit of water to allow the sugar to become sticky and eventually form a bond between the two pieces.

Pecan sticky buns - It's hard to find good gooey ones. Most are overbaked and too bready, but a good one will be so sticky that your hands and face will require excessive washing.
