Luggage is the issue. I thought of us maybe going to DL, I'm never been to Cali let alone DL...but I don't know what to do with our luggage. I guess we coulnd rent a car at the airport, leave the luggage in the car and drive over to DL, then return the car at the airport and catch our late flight. I'm concerned we'll be really tired and won't be into it...not sure what to do.

Any recommendations?

This depends, are you doing a DCL transfer to the airport? If so, then it would be a 1-2 hour trip down to disneyland and a 1-2 hours trip back and then you still need to get to the airport 2 hours before your flight left.
A better idea might be to go to the airport and then rent a car, see beverly hills and hollywood and then get on the plane.
Otherwise, it's a good idea to just spend the night somewhere and go the next morning.
As far as how tired you are going to be, on the last cruise we were on, I didn't find it to be an issue, but that's a personal thing.

Guess there are a couple choices.

1- get a van to take you to a resort at DL, check in, leave the luggage, go to Disneyland - two day pass, spend the night at the resort, have them hold the luggage, do dl the second day, have the van collect you and catch the late flight home.

2. rent a car at port, leave luggage in the car, sightsee for the day/ go to the beach/ whatever, get something to eat, drive to airport, dump car. Fly home on that night flight.

3. Check the luggage through Disney to the plane. continue with #2.

Either way, if there's kids involved, you've practically guaranteed they're going to sleep on the flight home - and that's a good thing!

Just booked this cruise, taking my 3 year old twin boys (they will be 4 by the time we cruise next year). Can't wait!!!!

Welcome Aboard !

Has everyone checked in yet from the wrath of Irene? I hope you are all okay!:goodvibes

My DD6 has just started asking for a sarong, so I guess I better order that fabric!

Just checking, but has anyone else noticed that our Ensanada day is Mother's Day!?! :cool1:
I wonder if Disney's gonna do something special for that...

I noticed, wish we were there for Cinco De Mayo instead of Maui. It would be nice if DCL did something.

I was on Alaska cruise for Mothers Day and no mention was made about it anywhere we went on board that day. I was very disappointed :sad2: Also ignored Cinco de Mayo - but some of us decorated doors and brought some decorations to dinner

All I can say is :sad2:

DH and I would love to go on this cruise using our DVC points, but all the DVC rooms are spoken for. I'll be checking back regularly for cancellations.

Good luck ! Hope something opens up for you.

DCL stopped on-board luggage check-in for flights from the west coast. I really wish they would re-instate that policy.

I forgot we were going to be there for Cinco de Mayo! Party!:woohoo:

I forgot to mention that I got some of my FE gifts this past weekend. I was in vegas, and there's a disney store outlet there, and there were tons of $1 to $2 items.
I got loads of stuff!

We were on the Inaugural Alaskan Cruise, and DCL did nothing, I mention it on the boards and lot of the Cruise didn't seem to intrested... alot of people did know what Cinco DE Mayo was....

Oh we are in if anybody wants to get something going....

5 days & still no power @ home :sad2: ...nice to be @ work where the a/c feels great!

Maybe you have done this: Call MS and ask to be put on a call list for this cruise. we are on one for a January cruise. There is no "wait list" as such just this call list. That being said we do call every so often just to check. good luck.

Wondering, since it looks like the alcohol policy is in fact true, if we will be having the Champagne Girls night?

I have a group that is on the cruise in November (paid in full date was yesterday), one of the couples are getting married and they were hoping to bring on a few bottles of $$$ champagne....Just sent them an email and I can't see them being too happy!

We will definitely be having the Champagne Girls Tasting because I buy the champagne directly from DCL.....they love me!!!

Perfect, I wasn't sure how it worked and am really looking forward to participating in my first Champagne Girls event!!!

I for one, am looking forward to getting a nice bottle of moet at duty free (coming from Canada) and enjoying it as we set sail, so fingers crossed the policy will not go back!

Not to worry....we already have our leis and our hair flowers will be ordered soon. We're ready! They won't assign me a room until 2 weeks before sailing, so we have to wait for that. Great choice on that Moet. White Star is my all time favorite. At the tasting, we start with the sweeter champagnes and finish with the dryer ones. I only like the dry ones. You may like those as well.

No matter what.....get your pink on and we'll have some fun!!!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: Champagne Girls rock! And Deb totally rocks!

Someone had previously mentioned that there is an October sailing of Hawaii listed on the reservations page of DCL, so I decided to check. It is currently listed as "sold out," and I also noticed that there is a Transatlantic listing available for the Fantasy in Feb! Which of course is currently "sold out." There is also a Sept Bahamas sailing for the Magic that is "sold out." I'm curious...what do you guys think?

I think the Fantasy Transatlantic sailing will be when she will be brought over from Germany. The Dream didn't have passengers so most probably it would be the same with the Fantasy.

No idea about the others.

My guess for those sold out cruises would be they are chartered by a company or something to that effect, just a guess

It does make you wonder why they'd have these sailings listed on the web, though, doesn't it? :confused3:confused3
