rain seriously picked up about 5 am - it comes in intervals. Wind began about 6 - it was pretty steady at 15 mph and now it's gusting to 45 - we've already had quite a bit of small stuff fall, power is out in part of the county.

It looks like the storm is over for us here in VA. We've been very fortunate...a lot of wind and rain, but no damage that I can tell. There were a lot of downed trees in the area, but again, not in our immediate vicinity. I hope all north of us are as lucky!

Glad you are safe and all is well there. Hope we hear the same from others as the day goes by.

Made it through the storm with no damage. Power stayed on the whole time. Hoping that everyone else is as lucky.

It is 1:00 pm and I think the worse is over. We had tons of heavy rain and winds but so far we are pretty lucky. We have some tree branches down etc, but we are one of the few streets in the area that still has power. My daughter and her three children have been here since yesterday. She only lives a couple miles away but in an very old house with lots of trees. Her area got hit harder and they are without power over there. Hope everyone is safe.

Well, just got power back on, it was out for about 5 hours. And a huge branch from a maple tree in our yard took out the end of our dog kennel. DH is not happy. Oh well...what are you going to do? It's still fairly windy but I think that the worst is over. We'll see. Hope everyone else is safe and dry.

We were on the generator for about 5 hours, but it's back on now. Unfortunately, there are still high winds, out of the west now) and some pretty heavy flooding.

Well it looks like I am not going anywhere. In a way that makes me happy because that means my fellow SWA family members are alright and can come into work. Still I was happy to to step up and when it is time to sign up again I will be droping my name on that list again.

Hey Gang....Just wanted to check with everyone from WIlliamsburg, VA...Still no power(have Generator) cable/net/phone/ kinda nice to be @ work with a/c, & the net and just good to be out of the house. 3 trees down, but not on the house. We are the lucky ones in the neighborhood, lots of trees on houses in the area....with team work/ good neighbors, clean up is on going.

Hope all is well where you are.

Robin & Angel "D" :thumbsup2

SO glad we aren't trying to get anywhere this week. Not much damage at my house but OH MY the flooding around here is awful. check wten.com and wnyt.com for videos.

Can you get out at all Linda? Well without hitting water that is. Glad you didn't suffer much damage. Take care.

Probably won't sleep tonight worrying about the storm. Here by myself but have done everything I could to minimize damage. We should get the worst of it in Philly by 4 AM. Praying that it will not be too, too bad. In '99 we had four trees down and water in the basement from Floyd. Now I have a battery backup for the sump pump along with a small generator. So since I am so prepared maybe I won't need them (fingers crossed!).

Made it through the storm with no damage. Power stayed on the whole time. Hoping that everyone else is as lucky.

Janis - glad to hear no damage for you and you are OK!

Hope all our East Coast friends are OK and have survived the hurricane and flooding!

Well, DH got sent home from work in Woonsocket, RI, because his building did not have power. I'm going in at 3, I work in a hospital so I'm sure we have at least emergency power. The power was back on at my home yesterday, so no worries there. We didn't seem to get all of the really heavy rain that you folks in NY seem to have gotten. Hope every one else is OK.

Glad to hear all of you came through Irene safe.

I was reading on the DISboard forum a report that DCL is changing their policy on bringing alcohol onboard. Can anyone confirm this? I called DCL and they said they didn't know anything about it.

I don't know Val, I read it and it sounds very vague. Excess will be take out of carry on? Well what is excess?

I called DCL to ask...have a group sailing out in early oct and they may have a mild-heart attack if this is true.

The CM had no idea of any changes in the policy and I would HOPE that Disney would give people some notice on this change.
