Hi everyone,
Just a quick reminder that I'm still looking for volunteers to offer their stateroom for the Stateroom tour. If you are interested please PM me with your Category and Stateroom number/Guarantee is no problem we can always update the number later. Also if you are hoping to upgrade and would like to offer your stateroom that is also okay we can also update the info later. There is often a change of staterooms and also cancellations so all stateroom contributions are appreciated.
As to the Meet & Greet. From all the previous responses it looks like most would prefer a quick Meet and Greet embarkation day probably in the Promenade lounge.
Will keep reposting info between now and the cruise.

The sea condition on our past cruise to Hawaii was rocky the first 2 out. The solarium pool on Radiance looked like a wave pool. They had to close it. As we got closer to Hawaii it was warmer and smoother. Going back it was much rougher they had bags on the stair wells. We love it rocky!

.

Was wondering the same thing. Has anyone done a similar cruise? I've read somewhere on the DisBoards that the Pacific can be pretty rough!

We have also heard that sailing the Atlantic during hurricane season can be pretty rough, but the TA last fall was smooth as glass. Just can't tell, so we will be prepared with bonine and hope we don't need it. :)

Val,

It would be a big help if we could get some measurements to go with the other sizes. For example, your 32.5 inch length of the the sample shirt... I am short and that would fall below my knee! Yet, I am big-busted and would probably need a fairly large men's shirt to accomodate that! Any help would be appreciated and then I'll be emailing my form. Thanks for all your efforts!!
Debbie

Val great info thanks a lot. I am happy to see the 12/1 payment date. I should know in Nov. if I get the vacation needed to take this trip. Now I hope this is not taken the wrong way, but it always amazes me when I see people worry/complain about rough waters. I just assume since oceans are so big and vast that rocking, even really bad rocking should happen. It is mother nature at her best. I just assume it because I am on a ship. For this cruise since we will be crossing the biggest, most active ocean in the world, I have not even thought of smooth sailing. I don't know, maybe it is just the way my crazy head thinks. I mean my first thought when I read about people saying stuff like man those seas were rough or something like that, I just want to say duh you are on a ship in the middle of the ocean.

Cat 9C GTY available at 5:35 am (EST) this morning...price for 2 adults, with insurance is $5,867.02.

I grabbed it ...:)..Elaine I thought I would go squirrely in a inside cabin. Only ever had a balcony..Pls tell me its not tons more then opening day

Really debating if we will add new magnets since we had one stolen from our door on inaugural Alaska cruise...and it was one my daughter designed for us that was a replica Disney name badge shape, with her name on it but also her two favorite characters Goofy and Alien from Toy Story. They left the one with my name and Tinkerbll on it. She worked hard on that magnet, it made me mad......I went walking on some of the decks checking to see if it showed up on another cabin door.

I just don't understand that kind of behavior. If kids are doing it, where are their parents? If adults are doing it, ?????

Hi all! Me and my wild crew will be joining you all next year. I've been neglecting this thread because of my other Disney trips that are coming up. But i'm here now! I love the fabric. It would be awesome to make sarongs out of it, too.

Welcome to the gang!

Oh, yeah! We sailed once a few years ago during a period when 3 hurricanes and/or tropical storms were wandering around the Caribbean. We did hit swells of around 40' or so one night; we'd been awakened by the sound of stuff sliding off our tables. Since we were taking Bonine daily, it didn't bother us at all (outside of not being able to stand upright without staggering). I will definitely be taking Bonine for the entire cruise!

I remember that cruise. This was the 5 night special cruise on the Magic in 2008, which was our very first cruise. As neither of us got seasick, we knew that we would be fine with cruising.

Thanks so much for all your hard work to make this happen! :worship: These shirts are going to be awesome!! :cool1::cool1:

I would also like to ask if it would be possible to get measurements for other sizes, particularly the XL and the L? :flower3:

Thanks again!!

Which month was your cruise to Hawaii? As I heard April/May should be the calmest time going to Hawaii....but i'm not the expert :)

Stay safe! And the same to anyone else affected by the violence!

We will put the magnets that are really special on the inside of the door instead of the outside, we have also been lucky putting the more elaborate ones higher on the door - I cannot help thinking it is mostly kids that snag magnets off doors, and I try to keep them above the level of at least the younger ones.

Actually was on upper left corner, over my head, so had to be adult or teenager:confused3

I'm a little concerned lately about what the sea conditions might be like on our cruise. Any comments?

We sailed to Hawaii and back a few years ago from Seattle and the was beautiful and smooth 90% of the time. The ONLY rough water we had was first day and that was getting out of the Seattle water inlet, Puget Sound, into the Pacific Ocean itself. My daughter uses her wheel chair on cruise ships because she is too unsteady with just her cane, but was actually very comfortable in the cabin and in the dining room for buffet eating using her cane some days it was so smooth :cool1:...

What month did you sail? I sailed in late April / early May for our 15 day cruise. Size and stability of ship are a factor also.

Although early interest infers moderate sales numbers and shirts selling for $33.50 or less, prices could range as low as $26 or as high as $45.75 (see table). This price includes the manufacturer’s bulk shipping and handling charges but not the cost to mail them to the individual group members. Bob & I will handle that mailing and advise you of the pass-through charge from the USPS. Regardless of when you order, every shirt will be sold at the same price. However, we cannot confirm the cost until the order deadline. If you’re confident you’ll buy a certain number of shirts even if we haven’t reached a discounted price, please place your order immediately. I will update the thread weekly with the number ordered by that date, and resultant unit pricing.
The manufacturer requires the total order for our group reflect at least 10 shirts in each size requested, i.e. if we order 100 shirts, 89 adult size large 10 size medium and 1 size small, they cannot fill the size small order. The group must order a minimum of 5 yards of material in order to include any material. (If we do not receive ample orders, you will not be charged and your yardage order canceled.)
They have not offered child size shirts before. Therefore, based on your feedback, they will determine the sizes they are able to offer.
We received a sample adult 2XL shirt for review. It has five buttons, including the one at the collar, which closes to about 19 inches. The camp-cut shirt was true to size with the following measurements: from bottom of collar to bottom of back of shirt is 32.5 inches, back of shirt width at bottom of sleeve and waist is 28 inches and length of shirt sleeves is 12 inches at the shoulder seam. With front panels of 14.5 inches, the 2XL is roomy at 56 inches. The 100% polyester shirts were selected due to the fact they do not shrink, will wrinkle much less than other material and dry quickly – all factors when considering travel wear. Additionally, this lightweight, breathable polyester is the best medium for color transfer, and with the complexity of our design this was a factor.
Although Bob really would love to have a pocket on the shirt, he agrees that the busy design would not lend itself to adding a pocket unless it is matched up to the shirt print. Even Tommy Bahama's, that he pays over $150 for do not have matched pockets any more. So, no pocket will be on the shirt.
Payment will be required by Dec. 1, 2011 via PayPal, utilizing an account established for this event only. Further information forthcoming.
Current schedule has the shirts being received from the manufacturers by March 1, 2012 for distribution to you by March 15, 2012.

Congrats!!!!!

Well...the price is about $300 more than we paid for our 9B on opening day.....so not bad.....I think you'll enjoy the Oceanview Room...we love ours.

I just want to say duh you are on a ship in the middle of the ocean.
This made me laugh out loud, I have these types of moments also. My sister, whom I love very much seems to struggle with distance and time zones. On our cruise to Hawaii on our very first full sea day she said, "So we'll be in Hawaii tomorrow right?" :lmao: She also complained about each of the time zone changes. I kept thinking - "Do you really not realize how large this ocean is?" Which apparently she doesn't because she also thought we could take a round trip cruise to Australia from LA in 14 days :scared1:

BTW - the "So we'll be in Hawaii tomorrow right?" question turned into a daily event- made me feel like the kids were in the back of the car saying, "Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" :lmao:

A number of you have asked about the sizes of the shirts. Here is a table Becky sent me.
