Val,

:worship:Thank you for all your help/ HARD work on getting this done for us....
I see a lot of concern with ordering/price.... :scared1: :lmao:
I think we order first to see the volume/ a mount of shirts that we as a group need/want to see the cost....the more on order the less the cost....
is this correct?

Looking :surfweb: forward to you responce, I think others are as well

Thanks again

I know this is somewhat of a loaded question, but how much is everyone budgeting for excursions?

Also, I remember reading somewhere the least expensive car rental company in hawaii, but can't seem to find it now!

The sea condition on our past cruise to Hawaii was rocky the first 2 out. The solarium pool on Radiance looked like a wave pool. They had to close it. As we got closer to Hawaii it was warmer and smoother. Going back it was much rougher they had bags on the stair wells. We love it rocky!
Oh wow, when did you take your cruise? Excuse my ignorance but what were the bags on the stairwells for?
Hopefully there won't be too many rocky days.
We love sea days but I get a little motion sick if it's really rough. Will have to stock up on Ginger tablets.

We have also heard that sailing the Atlantic during hurricane season can be pretty rough, but the TA last fall was smooth as glass. Just can't tell, so we will be prepared with bonine and hope we don't need it. :)
We did the WBTA in 2007 and the Atlantic was literally as smooth as a mirror, wonderfully calm! That was in contrast to the EBTA earlier that year who said they had an awful trip across.

Which month was your cruise to Hawaii? As I heard April/May should be the calmest time going to Hawaii....but i'm not the expert :)
Hope that will be the case. We're at sea for so many days I'd hate to spend them in my stateroom.

A number of you have asked about the sizes of the shirts. Here is a table Becky sent me.
Thank you for the info Val.

Right now I am just trying to get a firm count of the number of shirts people are confident they are going to pay for a shirt. We need this to determine the individual cost as it will be based on the volume ordered. I don't plan to start accepting payment until November.
Speaking of accepting payment, I went to Bank of America and opened a separate checking account just for the ordering of shirts, today. I asked the manager if she knew of any way, other then Pay Pal, for depositing money into the account. She suggested you ask your bank if they have a Bill Pay process that can be used if I gave you the account info. She cautioned to ask about any charges associated with transactions. The other suggestion was money order or cashier's check. Some credit unions and banks will provide them at no cost, to their customers.
I will establish a Pay Pal account with the Valbob89@aol.com. I am only using that e-mail address for the shirts and will close it and the Pay Pal account once this adventure is over.
I am sorry but I feel I just can't accept personal checks. As I am not a merchant I don't have any way to accept credit or debt card payments.
Maybe someone knows of another way payment can be made that would work for everyone. Pixiegran has offered to help me with the ordering process. I am going to send her a copy of your order forms so someone else has a record of your requests - a backup copy. Although I do have a service that provides off-site backup for my computer I think it is a great idea (and generous of her) to have someone other then just me know what you have sent me. She indicated she has handled a lot of uniform orders so maybe she has an idea what, other then Pay Pal, can be used to make payment.
We can pay via either PayPal or Bank of America transfer. I think if it's from a personal Bank of America account to another personal bank of America account the transfer is free. Will check with our DD who has some experience with transfers.

Just saying hello. Off to Disneyland today.
Enjoy!!! We're planning on going this evening.

OH NO....Michael and I booked two cabins - one in my name and one in his...since neither of us has found roommates we are once again traveling together (we get along so well it is really a joy to travel with him)...so I am releasing the cabin in my name.

The stateroom number is 5644 cat 6A Verandah room....If anyone is interested in this cabin, please contact me via PM, I would like to make sure my TA keeps the room if at all possible.

Cayla

That's good....glad we will be cruisin' to Hawaii together!!!!!

Just checking in on the new thread.

Roll Call: (list only includes those who have signed up on spreadsheet- see link above to sign up... and if you put your real name on the spreadsheet- you may want to correct that with DIS name and let me know so I can update this list accordingly? This way people can get to know you on DIS and will know who you are here)

I thought we did the sign up on the spreadsheet. No?
Name seems to be there. Or am I looking at the wrong sheet.

I just wanted to say, that your Eddie is really cute!! I love beagles. That is my Shelby below my Dis Name. We have 1 and then 2 beagle mix dogs. We also have a terrier mix.

The bags that were out were barf bags. Hubby and I love it rocky! For most of the shore excursions we do on our own. I have USAA so I have booked the rentals with them. Some as low as $35 some mid $50. I am hoping to book with DCL for Molikini and Arizona. The rest on our own.

I have been on the spreadsheet since early on with both Disboard and real names, but I am not on the list in the first post - not sure why not.

However - I suggest checking your info on the spreadsheet - mine was wrong - it said I was from Orange County CA - and I have now corrected it. edited to say - IF your information is wrong or missing, scroll all the way to the bottom of the spreadsheet -there are rows of information down there with no names, and that's where I found mine!

A few weeks ago there was a sorting/formatting issue with the spreadsheet. Everything went kerflooie (technical term for it ;) ).

So please everyone check their listing.

I love the shirts and will put in the order form soon!

Thanks

Debbie

I just checked the list on the first page and we're not on it either, but we are on the spreadsheet correctly. The only thing that I'm confused about is that most people have a number at the left of their line, but ours is blank. I'm guessing it's nothing important?

Does anyone have the names of the ports we will be docking at in Hawaii? I thought I would start looking at rental cars.

Sure - on Oahu - Honolulu, on Hawaii - Hilo, on Kaui - Nawiliwili and on Maui - Kahului

I was just reading on the DCL website about the Hawaii cruise and they made a comment under shopping - "Lahaina on Maui is home to a charming strip of seaside shops and restaurants." BUT we don't dock there...we dock on the other side of the island in Kahului. So far I am not too impressed with their Hawaii part of the website and I don't like that they won't have "adventures" posted until right after we are due to pay for cruise. This is starting to seem very last minute decision and a lot of unknowns so far. Someone needs to get their act together at DCL. :confused3

as of now....4:10pm EST....the cat are open....
9C/ ocean view & 10A inside cabin....

good luck

I see there are questions and concerns regarding dates for ordering shirts, specifically when I need your completed order form and later, your full payment. Regarding the order form -- the price of the shirts is dependent on the number we order. Therefore, before I can tell you how much they cost, I need to know how many we will be ordering.

If, at this time, you have every intention of going on the cruise and every intention of ordering a shirt, please put in your order form now. If life throws you a curve and you have to cancel the cruise before you pay for the shirt, I think we will understand you need to cancel the shirt order too. Hopefully, the number of people who cancel the shirts won't effect the estimated cost of the shirts if we build in a little error factor.

I understand the concern about paying for the shirts before the paid in full date for the cruise. Here is how I came up with the 12-1-11 date. I would like to hear your recommendation:

The company needs 8 weeks to produce the shirts (print fabric, cut patterns, assemble, inspect, package) -- 56 days

They close the factory the first 2 weeks in January - 14 days

I wanted some time for unknown problems - production or shipping delays - minimum 2 weeks - 14 days

USPS says they take 2-9 business days to deliver a 1st class package in the US - 14 days

I built in time to get the shirts to you 2 weeks before the cruise, thinking many of you like to pack and arrive before the cruise date - 14 days

Also built in time for me to package and mail the shirts - 7 days

That is 119 days prior to the cruise - 17 weeks. That brings us to January 8, 2012.

Because I believe this is still prior to the paid in full date, I went ahead and made the PIF date 12-1-11. I was more comfortable building in more time if something went wrong and the fact everyone would be busy with the holidays.

As of 2:09 Pacific, the 9C was gone, but the 10A is still there. 6000 for two adults. Wow. My 11B is still a lot less.
