Thanks! I just have a bit of a credit on Amazon and would like to use it, but because I am in Canada, it makes more sense to have it delivered to one of our destinations. I've always had good luck with sending to hotels, so I will just do that if it's easier!

Hi All,

Back from the Fantasy MV and trying to catch up at work as well as prepare for Hawaii!! (oh and doing extra work in preparation for being away for 2 weeks).

So, can someone please post a link to the final FE list or PM it to me (can't seem to find it now).

Thanks, Bob

I would be very upset if they did!.. We paid the price for them to be able to enjoy EVERYTHING!.. Not our kids' fault that the cruise has very few kids. There is no reason they should do with out the activities.. IMO....:scratchin

We are on the Baltic cruise two summers ago and there was only about 300 kids. By the third or fourth day the CMs in the clubs knew the kids by name. There certainly was no lack of activities on that cruise.

I noticed there were a few postings in the last day or two about formal, semi-formal, and pirate nights. Unless something has changed since March 25...

Formal night is Sunday, April 30
Semi-formal night #1 is Wednesday, May 9
Pirate night is Friday, May 11
Semi-formal night #2 is Saturday, May 12

So one formal and two semi-formal nights.

We are Delta as well. we are supposed to have 2 free luggage but...

suffice to say "but". i will let you know when we board......

We're on Delta (I'm always on Delta).

Are you a Medallion member? Gold Medallions in coach (and their companions traveling in the same record) and higher can have 2 70-lb bags for free. Silver Medallions only get 1 bag. First/business class can have 3 70-lb bags.

We're doing a trial pack to see how much space we need. Traveling to HI is a lot easier than traveling to AK. No bulky and heavy clothes. We'll probably fly out with 2 bags each and return with 3.

I wonder why Disney doesn't post the formal/semi-formal dates? Everyone seems to be getting contradictory information. Would be great for knowing what to pack.

If you go on line to MY CRUISE ACTIVITIES on the DCL site
And log in to your ACTIVITY PLANNER
you can see dates for these events.

But some people on our cruise have friends who are "in the know" because of their jobs and have shared updates with us before the website was changed (if it ever is....)

And
Dates of such events can be changed due to weather if the Captain determine it is wise.

So
I figure, this is vacation. I will pack for a couple fancy dinners and will wear what I like.

If the fancy dinner is a different night it makes no difference, the outfit is in the closet. :)

I would have no idea where on the cruise website to find that info. I can't stand the DCL website...like trying to find out how much an excursion is after you booked it...so not logical.

My info is from the same place the DCL folks' info is. :) I just haven't checked it in a couple of weeks. I'm taking a holiday from the formal night on this cruise but we'll do the semi-formals. One less thing to pack.

:yay: GOOD FOR YOU!! It's your vacation--do it your way :thumbsup2

We wear the same stuff for formal and semi-formal. I might wear different jewelry and DH might wear a different tie but he takes a dark sports coat and dark slacks to wear with a button down shirt. I keep thinking that a solid or two-tone Aloha shirt (Hawaiian shirt's name on the islands according to a website I read today) is considered business or dressy attire on the islands so why not on our ship. :confused3

(I am not a big fan of websites that change frequently so do understand. I went to the site just now to be sure I wrote down the right titles.)

.

Thank you so much! Wondering then if I should have it delivered to the ship or to the hotel pre-stay because we are having it delivered from Amazon.

I would think it would be safer and easier to track going to hotel where your name would already be on record with reservation.

I am not sure how to manage to find these things but I followed your directions exactly and all it shows me are sail away party and pirates night...nothing about formal or semi formal nights.

Yes things have changed since 3/25. What I posted was given to me by someone who works for DCL in FL. Not from the 800 number.

70 lbs???? we were told 50 lbs!!!!!!

We are doing a test pack as well. My goal is the same as yours, but we are taking the wetsuits and mask/fins/snorkels so that adds some weight and bulk. We always carry a duffel to pack coming home - great for dirty clothes and freeing up space in the cases. I am not going to fret over extra baggage this trip. Oh yes, and dive jacket,,,,plus gown, plus tux....now if only I remember where I left the elephants.:rotfl2:

I just checked the Delta site. I see, I was mixing up Skymiles and the Gold credit skymiles card from American Express. It is 50 lbs for couch. Only First and Business get 70 lbs. But then there is another allowance for SkyMiles members with different levels, but the icon next to the baggage is different. What is the lowest level of skymiles can you have?

Here's the info for Medallion members. http://www.delta.com/traveling_checkin/baggage/checked/index.jsp#medallions There's a difference between Skymiles members and Medallion members . You have to have so many Medallion miles to be a Silver member, but anyone can have a Skymiles number. I usually travel with my husband who is a frequent flyer, so we get the 70lb. limit for our bags. What really aggravates me is that we have a Delta Amex card, but I don't get the bag benefit when I travel alone because he is the primary cardholder and I'm the secondary. This is one thing I wish Delta would change.

I am sorry
I was wrong
I thought formal and semi formal would be listed there too

Bob asked me about the guys getting together too. Is the card game off? Is there interest in the guys getting together at the same time? Would they want a private tasting? Maybe the Cadallac is available at the same time. Don't have much time, but if there is interest, I could call. How about an optional Hawaiian Shirt Contest and tasting? Perhaps at the end we could all meet in the lobby for pictures - Both groups separate and together? Don't know if there is any interest but willing to see.

Val & Bob

Val, DH would like to know as well. He did not sign up for Poker game, because he is not good playing it. But, if other meets are put together, like to watch the game, please do tell. Thanks, Cindy

Hi Cindy (and anyone else still interested!)

The Alternate Luau in Maui is still available in terms of discounted tickets to the dinner/show. However, I have no more room on the motorcoaches as I had to reserve those by April 5th.

If you are already renting a car or would like to just arrange your own transportation and join us, you may by sending me a PM here on the DISBoards.

It is the Drums of the Pacific show at the Hyatt Maui. Adults are $85; kids 6-12 are $50 and kids 5 and under are $30.

There are 72 of us DISers participating - wahoo!!

We have a single confirmation # on tickets that I will deliver to all the participants' staterooms along with directions and details during our trip over to the islands.

Can't wait to see you all in LESS THAN 3 WEEKS!!! :cool1:

Stephanie

I just read this message, I will run in to my husband, this evening. We will have a rental car in Maui, so transportation will not be an issue. I will report back to you, tomorrow and thank you, so very much for the info.

Cindy

Hello everyone! Just wanted to let everyone know that I am currently on our 2 week ride to Hawaii and she is just as beautiful as ever! Of course I have the kids with me and I can't help but think what a different type of vacation it will be for me having 2 weeks without the kids! How can you not have fun on DCL, kids or no kids??

For those of you wanting to use the internet, I am surprised how good the connection has been so far. We are so lucky to be traveling in the Roy Suite this trip and having free internet has been nice! If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. Ds9 has reports to work on this week so while he does that, I can sit out on the balcony and report back to all of you!

Enjoy, Relax, Have Fun, you owe it to yourself

Hello everyone. I'm a last min addition and am very excited for this cruise. If you don't know already eeyorelover10 is my mom (who, by the way, commandeered my original disname :rotfl:) and some of you have prob seen me around the design thread. Well I just wanted to say hi and "show my face" so to speak :)

HI and Welcome! :woohoo::cheer2:pixiedust:
