And so...called DVC member services this morning to see if a studio was available on April 28th.....not available....but they checked the regular hotel and they had availability....only 54 points for a hotel room for 1 night....so we will be staying at the Marriott which we have booked for a reasonable $99 for the night....if we get in earlier maybe get some transportation over to Disneyland for the day.....well see.
I want to play some poker please!!!

Tom:cool1:& Marilou:cheer2:

OMG, 58 points :sad2: they must have quoted you points for a 1 or 2 bedroom, because I booked a studio and it was 28 points, if you log on to DVC, you can look up the chart with the points charge per seasonal dates.

. . . .
So
I figure, this is vacation. I will pack for a couple fancy dinners and will wear what I like.

If the fancy dinner is a different night it makes no difference, the outfit is in the closet. :)

That makes a lot of good sense to me! I haven't worn a true formal gown (& long white gloves with buttons at the wrist) in decades. :rotfl2: If I wear a skirt, THAT's formal (or a funeral)

HI and Welcome! :woohoo::cheer2:pixiedust:

Welcome back, yourself! How's the man doing? Check your pm box!

ONE LAST TIME!! This is your last chance for getting your info included in the mini-navigator that Corinna is putting together!

Hi Everyone,

If you have previously responded to me, you can totally ignore the following message. Please be aware that my list only includes those who have contacted me via FB or DISboard, since there were so many changes to the original spreadsheet.

To help Corinna put the mini-Navigator together, I volunteered to help gather information for a couple of sections:

1) Celebrations during the cruise. For this we would need DIS Name, first name(s), date and what is being celebrated.

2) Pages with pre- and post-cruise stays. For this we would need DIS name, first name(s), dates, and where people are staying.

I know there is some information on the DIS spreadsheet, but at this point I don't know how accurate that is, considering all the changes that have been made so I have not used it.

So please contact me if you would like your information to be included in the Hawaiian mini-Navigator. Thank you! (You can PM me if you are more comfortable with that.)

Ok, now I am concerned! I put in all my info on the spreadsheet, a very long time with all the celebrations. Do you have mine? Do I need to send you the info? MERMAIDLOVING, celebrating ~ DD, 9th birthday, Our 15 yr Wedding anniversary (18 yrs Together), DH ~ Master Degree and Just added most important one of all The Gift Of Life Celebration after the husband heart attack and heart issue discovered. Please, let me know if I am missing, so I can PM you immediately.

Sorry and thanks, Cindy

Checking, now

We thought about sending the box to the hotel but if it got lost I would be very upset after all the work I did so we are putting it in an suitcase- and paying the extra. I know that can get lost too.

Val - John would also be up for some guy thing too. Let us know.

Here's the info for Medallion members. http://www.delta.com/traveling_checkin/baggage/checked/index.jsp#medallions There's a difference between Skymiles members and Medallion members . You have to have so many Medallion miles to be a Silver member, but anyone can have a Skymiles number. I usually travel with my husband who is a frequent flyer, so we get the 70lb. limit for our bags. What really aggravates me is that we have a Delta Amex card, but I don't get the bag benefit when I travel alone because he is the primary cardholder and I'm the secondary. This is one thing I wish Delta would change.

If he's a diamond he can gift you gold status. Then it'll be no worries!

Nope not a fan of Pirate night. It is boring and old and needs to be changed. After 10 cruises the only thing I enjoy about it is the 10:30 fireworks (which I watch from deck 4) and the buffet. The dining info I have comes straight from someone who works in celebration and sends me the info straight from their computer. Last update I got was Friday.

These are the parts of Pirates Night that I enjoy also, as well as all the Pirate costumes and the Pirate menu!

I apologize if this question has already been asked, but does anyone know what time the ship is scheduled to leave on the 29th?Amy

All aboard at 4 PM, usually sail away is 5 PM.

I

:yay: GOOD FOR YOU!! It's your vacation--do it your way :thumbsup2

We wear the same stuff for formal and semi-formal. I might wear different jewelry and DH might wear a different tie but he takes a dark sports coat and dark slacks to wear with a button down shirt. I keep thinking that a solid or two-tone Aloha shirt (Hawaiian shirt's name on the islands according to a website I read today) is considered business or dressy attire on the islands so why not on our ship. :confused3

On this sailing, my formal/semi-formal dress will be Hawaiian sundresses and silk Aloha shirts, so it doesn't matter to me if nights are formal or semi-formal, Scott will have a jacket, 1 tie, and a couple of dress shirts. We are trying to pack lighter on this trip and will be in the laundry room frequently.

Also looking for link to updated FE list.

Also wanted to mention, on the Fantasy Maiden Voyage, several folks were able to get Palo reservations once on the ship, so, those who were unable to secure a reservation early should try to get one once on the ship.

Hi Linda, thanks for asking!
I sent you and Val, the same message via a private PM. I don't want to bring down the mood here at the board, since we are so close to the trip, the energy of excitement of the members is building and don't want to be a downer, :)

But, overall he is OK and we are very lucky. pixiedust:

BTW, did I say 2 weeks, for this trip, OMG ~ I guess it's time to pack! :rotfl:

I always take the "schedules" for formal nights with a grain of salt...

not only do they change a lot before we leave, but on the last 3 long cruises I've been on, the '2 formals' got "down graded" to semi's, en route!! :cool1:

Doesn't really matter what they tell us ahead of time -only thing for sure is that the 1st sea day is formal & all the rest are always "captain's discretion." This is the party line across most cruise lines, so I've learned to plan for 1 formal & just call semi-formal formal..if a 2nd one is even held. :rotfl2:

The Hawaiian formal sounds lovely...I may do that for one of them with a vintage dress I found... especially since it will most likely end up being 2 semi's...!

Cruise formal is more forgiving too. For DH, packing has "evolved" to one black suit, stopped doing the tux, so formal means pair it with a white shirt, black tie... Easy peasy...and adaptable! For me, jewelry, lace top & heels can dress up velvet pants to semi-formal (cruise ship style)!

:grouphug: If DIS friends are not here for the "real" stuff of life, what good are we? We share ups and downs. Glad "overall DH is OK". But is that the real answer? A lot of us have cardiac experiences and have learned that talkinggran be good therapy, so feel free to unload as you wish. :grouphug:

I am a knitter but have never brought a project on a cruise. Maybe this time if there is space in the luggage
but
we are flying Delta with frequent flier miles and have to pay for our luggage unlike when we fly SouthWest.

Jan/ Kana

Yes, I'm flying SouthWest so I'm able to be a little more generous with what I bring. With all those days at sea, I'm excited to think how much time I'll have to work on things. Although, there's never a lack of things to do during sea days is there? :)

Amy

A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who paid for the Aulani Transportation so quickly! We are all set to go! My contact information along with the meet times/places will be in the mini-navigator, or you are welcome to send me a PM if you have any questions. See you in Hawaii!!
