I had two yards and was able to make the skirt....I had one piece of 14 inches left - no border was left, along with several scrap pieces.

I originally planned a tiered skirt but after making the pattern with cotton I abandoned the idea for this fabric. Fair warning, it frays, so I ended up with lining it as well as finishing the seams. It is much better for straight stitching and not gathering....But I am not a regular seamstress.

Enjoy whatever you decide.

I have no border left either. For two kids vests it was just enough border to go around. There is plenty of non-border fabric left.

Has it been decided that we will wear our shirts when we get on the ship?
I think it would look great and wear them to dinner that night. Will go along with whatever is decided.

oh, wow, that is beautiful! I am leaning toward a skirt. I can wear it with a cami and the Hawaiian shirt we bought from Val and Bob. But I might be able to make a dress, after all. My problem is I like to cover up my legs as much as possible!:laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:

Have a few questions for everyone:
As a group are we all panning to wear our shirts for embarkation?
Does anyone know when a group photo is planned?
Do we have a time and place for our Champagne Girl event?
Have the lists for the candy exchange been posted yet?
I have to focus on some school work for the next several days and may not be on line for awhile. Just trying to update my itinerary.

SCRAPBOOK UPDATE:

I am still awaiting payment from the following for the scrapbook class:

Yukongirl123 (2 books)

Hi disneygal....as far as the champagne girls tasting goes....I have submitted my request date and time to DCL two weeks ago. I have not heard back yet. That is not unusual. They won't assign this early out. We have to wait. Also, they may change it along the way. That's why I need your stateroom numbers. If they change it while we're onboard, I will leave you a message letting you know.

Sounds like everyone will be wearing their shirts for embarkation and there may be a group photo day! I can't wait!!

If anyone needs a Cruise shirt in a Medium, let me know!! I found my size small already!

Hooray!!

Trying to "budget" for all of the extra stuff on my cruise today. I have the cruise paid for and have my budget for excursions, internet fees and tips. What else are you guys budgeting for??

The other things that I figure I will end up adding (since I do half of the time) is one salon visit, Palo, an occasional drink -or three- that I actually pay for ;), maybe bingo once or twice since it's a long journey...and maybe a couple items from the gift shops. But assigning a monetary value to that is tough!! :confused3

We do get one Palo visit free, but on such a long cruise, will probably do brunch again. We're staying on board for the 7-night to vancouver, so I'm trying to be "good" with finances, but we will see.....!! :woohoo:

:surfweb: I was just wondering; How many of us were on the Alaska Inagural Trip Last May? I have a very specail DVD from a Seattle TV Station that was on the trip with us I would like to give copies to those who would like one.
If you would like one,, Please PM me with your Name & Cabin number and sometime during the cruise, you will get the disc in your FE....:)

Six weeks from today, we will be on a Plane heading to LA/ DL/ and the GC for two days, then to the Wonder........:cool1:

Hope all are pakced....WE'RE DONE!!!! kidding..... or are we......? :lmao:

Robin & Angel "D" :thumbsup2

Good ones Bev! I SHOULD budget for a spa day! We do have reservations at Palos too, so I should go ahead and add those as well!

You are right gifts are a tough one! I know if I budget a certain amount, I'm going to spend it too!!

Then a longer skirt.....It is the tropics, bare legs are fine.

If you have two yards you will have enough material for a longer skirt....you will have to join it and cut the border off :scared1:
