Don't want to put a name or anything on it...just a logo ....something so they know their secret Mickey is thinking of them that day

You posted here what logo you want to use - anyone seeing that logo who is reading the thread will know it's you. That's what I think was meant by it's not so secret now. So to keep the surprise...maybe think of a new logo... don't post the description of it.

Brought my shirt to the seamstress today. It had to be shortened. To keep the border on the bottom I will have to have a seam around the shirt where it was cut and then the border put back. I hope it will look all right. I really did not have a choice.

Anyone doing the dinner package at the Italian Resturant for WOC We are doing it for 4:00 on the 27th - anyone want to join my husband and myself?

Good ones Bev! I SHOULD budget for a spa day! We do have reservations at Palos too, so I should go ahead and add those as well!
You are right gifts are a tough one! I know if I budget a certain amount, I'm going to spend it too!!

Oh, and i forgot one.........coffee!!! :sad2:
I am a coffee drinker & the coffee on board is that reconstituted nescafe stuff....yuk...even in Palo! The Cove has Americano & espresso, which are close enough to what I like, so I end up getting those every other day, at least. There is a punch card you can ask for & after 6 (I think) you get one free. I bring the starbucks instant coffees too, but for coffee lovers, it can get more pricey than a bar bill! Thought about bringing a press but haven't gone that far yet. They do say 'no' coffee makers in your room, or I might be more tempted to bring that!!

Bev, since you a bingo player, how does the Disney bingo work? What does it cost to play?

Honestly, it's very pricey!! It will be offered a LOT so if you want, you can play every sea day, sometimes twice a day. The minimum buy-in is around $30, as I recall, & that is for a very small package.....there are lots of options & they go up from there. As someone had mentioned, they have punch cards as well as electronic devices so they handle a zillion games at once! It is easy to spend $70 for a round, unfortunately! :scared1:

They mostly give cash prizes, try to make it silly & fun with lots of joking & silly chanting, lol, and there is a progressive pot that builds up over the whole cruise that will be in the 1,000's by the end. Some days they will have spa gifts or other little Disney trinkets as prizes and they also keep a random name drawing going to award the little stuff. The money prizes for each game (usually FOUR in a round) get progressively higher too - and it is shared with all who have bingo at the time. .....hope this helps!! It really is fun, but I usually can't afford to play too many times....:rotfl:

I really need a logo for my secret Mickey gifts. Has anyone seen or can you create a question mark with Mickey on top??? Head or body...doesn't matter. I want to print some stickers and/or labels with a logo like that so I can put one on each little gift I want to leave for secret Mickey so they know when it is from me and not a FE.

Would any of these work?

Val, is there a way to get the graphic for the kids shirt you designed yesterday? I would like to order a couple, so the kids match us!.. :yay:

I finally got through on the phone to Zazzle. They most likely would not print the images because of the Mickey heads. I didn't look that hard, but they were the only company I found that had blue tee's for kids.

But you can have access to any of the images on my Flicker file http://www.flickr.com/photos/rmvandy/

One thing you can try for getting kids shirts is a local company. I found Big Frong Custom shirts about 15 minutes from my house and they did a great job on getting us long-sleeve shirts for our PC cruise for my son and me. I just sent them the graphics I wanted on the front and back and then picked out the shirt. They came out awesome!

I think Vistaprint is the only company who print whatever you give them, but they don't have colored or any kind of kids t-shirts. Last year I tried many other companies I found on the internet, but NONE of them wanted to print anything related to Disney.....

Somewhere on our thread, someone recommend Jif Shirts and Amy's transfers so I just made my own shirts for my DS, the shirts arrived quickly and Amy's have worked great, easy to use and great service.

And since Val is so willing to share her designs there is another option for kid's shirts.

That helps alot.. My Mom is actually more the Bingo player.. So I was asking for her. I think locally she spends about $40 to play.. And that is 2 packs of cards, plus some extra progressive pot papers. Thanks for you help!

Hello to All Participating in the Alternate Luau:

We have 66 confirmed folks (52 adults and 14 kids). So, it is time to make payment so I can secure our venue and motorcoachs. We'll do this just like Val did for shirts through PayPal.

  1. First, please go to www.paypal.com and enter your account info (or set one up)
  2. Then, click on the "Send Money" tab
  3. In the "To" box enter "SanDiegoSteph-dcl@yahoo.com"
  4. Enter the amount you owe per the list below
  5. Then, click on the "Personal" tab
  6. Select "GIFT" to answer the question "This money is being sent as a:" - this is CRITICAL so that neither you nor I get charged a service fee
  7. Hit the "Confirm" button
  8. At the review page, please put "Alternate Luau" in the Subject Line and your DisName and real name in the mesage box so I know who the money is coming from.

Sounds like everyone will be wearing their shirts for embarkation and there may be a group photo day! I can't wait!!

If anyone needs a Cruise shirt in a Medium, let me know!! I found my size small already!

Hooray!!

I sent you a PM but failed to mention if anyone else wants it for sure let them buy it. I snooze, I lose at that point.

When we want a tee shirt with a Disney graphic my DH John just creates the graphic and prints it on iron on paper. We buy any kind or color plain tee shirt and then just iron on the graphic. It always comes out great and we can do whatever we want on whatever kind of tee shirt we like.....just another option.

That's what I did. Jiffy Shirts has really great prices for t-shirts and all kinds of colors...and Amy's transfers are fantastic and you don't need to print them in mirror.

Michael's also sells nice cheap t-shirts in kids' sizes in lots of colors (at least they do here in San Diego). They are all short-sleeved though. I go to Jiffy Shirts for my long-sleeved shirts too.

I am not very paypal savvy.. And, I apparently have to link my checking account or something crazy like that to send money without a fee. Not sure how I managed to send it to Val for no fee, but it is different now than it was then. Anyway, it is going to take 2-3 days for PayPal to do their verification thing. It migh be quicker for me to send a check!.. Gees.. Nothing is easy..

Oh, so sorry to have it be difficult - I was trying to make it easy!!

I think when you link a credit card, it is immediate and has no fee attached. Linking the checking account instead might be the issue.

However, I would be FINE with receiving a check instead if that is easier for anyone - just PM me and I'll send you my mailing address.

Thanks!
Stephanie

Your not making it difficult.. PayPal is..lol.. I tried to find a way to link it different, but it seems like I can't find out how to do it. I used PayPal to pay for some sheets I orderd (for the characters to sign on the ship) and it said that I had issues with some bank account or something crazy like that. So maybe that has something to do with why it is difficult. I had no problems paying Val. So, between Val and my sheets and now, I have managed to un-manage my PayPal account! :confused3
