Trying to "budget" for all of the extra stuff on my cruise today. I have the cruise paid for and have my budget for excursions, internet fees and tips. What else are you guys budgeting for??

Don't forget water. I think it is something like $9 for a 6-pack (less if you buy a case). We also budget for the wine packages - they are $189 for 7 bottles, so it looks like we will be doing 2 of those this trip (one for each dinner). Also need cash for room service tips, tour guide tips, and laundry.

I think the smallest water package is 12 bottles for about $35. You might want to hit WalMart before you get on the ship.

Please check your PM in box for instructions on payment.

Thanks!

Yukongirl123 jumped ship as soon as the October Hawaii cruise was announced as our cruise clashed with her son's High School graduation.

Hi Cayla,

I was just going to post if anyone had a single page list. Glad I checked. Also, FYI, I got upgraded but for some reason I didn't get upgraded on all the lists, my new cabin is 6152. I'm under 5636 which is no longer me .. Sorry about that. It's is now: 6152. Anyway I can ask you to update your record in case others like me print yours out? That you. :flower3:

I had you down for the right stateroom on the individual groups, but had the wrong stateroom numbers for the master lists. Anyway, it is all fixed now.

I had two yards and was able to make the skirt....I had one piece of 14 inches left - no border was left, along with several scrap pieces.

I originally planned a tiered skirt but after making the pattern with cotton I abandoned the idea for this fabric. Fair warning, it frays, so I ended up with lining it as well as finishing the seams. It is much better for straight stitching and not gathering....But I am not a regular seamstress.

Enjoy whatever you decide.

I love this skirt.

Has it been decided that we will wear our shirts when we get on the ship?
I think it would look great and wear them to dinner that night. Will go along with whatever is decided.

I don't think an official decision has been made, but I think quite a few people are planning to wear the shirts on embarkation day.

Does anyone know if there is a Wal-Mart near the ship? Maybe where we could drop our luggage at the ship, and grab a cab to a Walmart to do some "beverage" shopping?:rotfl:

Group Picture(s)
Who is organizing the Meet & Greet? Do you think you would mind if we did a group picture at that time? Also, Do you want to use the banners and posters I had made at the M & G? If not, no problem or hurt feelings, just thought I'd offer.

Maybe we want another time too? How about between main and late dining, after the first show, in the lobby? I think there is usually about 1/2 hour, when they have pin trading, drinks, and character pictures?

I am open to whenever works for everyone.

Who is doing the white board on their door for updates? Did anyone take that on?

Corinna, could you note in our Navigator that the Book Exchange bag is outside my cabin, 6606? Thanks.

Val

The closest store would be at Long Beach and is 7.63 miles away:

Long Beach Walmart Store #2949
151 E 5Th St
Long Beach, CA 90802

The meet and greet is organized by ibouncetoo.

Personally, I would prefer to do the photo at another time. By the time people had a chance to say "hi" to each other and stuff like the lanyards are given out, I always feel it is a bit stressful if you try to do a group photo.

I have added the Book Exchange to my notes for the Navigator.

I checked the Disney Cruise site and they say it is $9 for a six pack or $35 for 24. Still expensive but I don't feel like hauling a case of water onto the ship. We will probably just get a case for the two of us. I think they provide water for the excursions.

Someone had posted that if we had a Shutters photograper take our group pix there would be a $75.00 "sitting fee". Well, I was talking to my DH about this and he said he would pay the fee so we all could have a nice picture taken by a professional and we wouldn't have to worry about being kicked out of some area for blocking stairs or whatever. And we wouldn't have to worry about someone with a bunch our camaras that all seem to look alike getting mixed up.

So, once we settle on when and where to have our group picture, I will call DCL and make sure they can accoumadate us.

Okay, I'm going to try this but since I've never done it before, you'll have to forgive me if I mess it up a bit. ;)

I'm going to try and arrange a second group Brunch at Palo, but I'm only going to accept private messages from the DIS board. Sorry, no Facebook or board replies. I want to try and be fair and it is going to be a first come. . . you know the rest.

I believe the only things I will need are: (I'll message back if I need anything else)
1. Primary Name (first and last) of the reservation.
2. How many on the reservation.
3. Reservation Number
4. Room Number
5. Special Event and preference of before Hawaii or after Hawaii for the Brunch (though me may not have much of an option)

From what little I know, they will tell us 30 days out from the cruise if they accept our reservation or not.

Thank you for everyone's understanding and I'll keep you updated. I'll be accepting another 12 reservation since my husband and I already make 2.

Good Evening All....absent a medical issue, I'd skip the bottled water and drink the ship's water. We carry a water bottle with us and it works fine. The ship's R/O is more advanced than some of the bottle water processors....Just our way....and we have no infants that might need special care with bottles.

Lissa - what a wonderful offer from your hubby...Thank him from us....

Brought my shirt to the seamstress today. It had to be shortened. To keep the border on the bottom I will have to have a seam around the shirt where it was cut and then the border put back. I hope it will look all right. I really did not have a choice.

Anyone doing the dinner package at the Italian Resturant for WOC We are doing it for 4:00 on the 27th - anyone want to join my husband and myself?

I think your shirt will look fine....it makes sense to seam the shirt at the border.....great idea.

I finally got through on the phone to Zazzle. They most likely would not print the images because of the Mickey heads. I didn't look that hard, but they were the only company I found that had blue tee's for kids.

But you can have access to any of the images on my Flicker file http://www.flickr.com/photos/rmvandy/

Val - Zazzle would not print my DREAM bags because of the same reason AND I was using design from their site!!!!! They apologized but it is a Disney issue and I think they print licensed Disney merchandise.

Paula, sorry to hear about your loss. Our thoughts are with you and your family.

Steph,

Thank you VERY much for setting this up. Great job putting it together and we really appreciate the hard work and time put into searching out this awesome venue. Looking forward to the PARTY!

we drink the ships water, too, but mostly at the restaurants and from the drink station......we are weird that way. Connie

That is our plan. :cool1:
Good ones Bev! I SHOULD budget for a spa day! We do have reservations at Palos too, so I should go ahead and add those as well!

You are right gifts are a tough one! I know if I budget a certain amount, I'm going to spend it too!!

Photos.

That is very sweet of your DH. :goodvibes The staircase in the atrium works well with the photographer up on deck 4 looking down to get the entire group. It has to be a time when there are no characters out in the atium, so we have found that Shutters usually tells US when. You might call them and chat about it and get their input.

We too take a bottle and fill it at the drink station. Would rather spend the $ on DOD. :woohoo:
