Looking for suggestions on what to do in Maui after my excursion. I get back around 1:30. I am not doing the Luau. Is there anything near the ship ? I remember a while back hearing about the puka dog ? Is there one in Maui that is nearby ? TIA :goodvibes

Wanted to share with anyone who may interested in doing the HOHO bus in Oahu. I just received an email for a Groupon deal for it. A 24 hour pass is $14. It will still be valid while we are there. The voucher expires June 13, 2012.

This just solved how I would be getting around. We collect the Hard Rock Cafe tshirts, and it looks like it's along the route.

I'm doing the HOHO bus with some friends. This is great news. Do I need to pick up a "Groupon" to get the deal? What is a Groupon anyway? Or do I need a voucher? Where would I get one? Or do I automatically get the discount when I buy my ticket?

Thanks for clearing this up for me.

Thanks for sharing. I can't decide what to do.........I am staying with the DCL excursion for Pearl Harbor but it ends around 3:15. I also have main dining and there just doesn't seem enough time to see all the things I want to.:rolleyes1

We always pack a corkscrew, just in case.

I know that lots of you bring your own corkscrews, but if you do forget it do not fret. We have twice had room steward get one for us and kept it length of cruise. :thumbsup2

You can sign up at Groupon.com You purchase the vouchers on their website. I believe the deal is going on for 2 more days. I just purchased and it says I will get an email instructing me to print out my vouchers. This is only the 2nd time I have gotten something. First was for Vancouver. I have friends who go on check out the deals almost daily. I'm currently signed up for their emails for deals in Hawaii.

Thank you. Now I know exactly what to do.

Puka Dog is only on Oahu (Waikiki Town Center) and Kuaui (Poipu Shopping Village)

We'll be hitting them both!! :lmao:

My excursion gets us back to the boat at 2:30pm and I was thinking about what else I could do. We are docking right next to the airport where I can rent a jeep. I'm thinking about doing that for a few hours.

I know after we go to Mighty Mo and the Arizonia, we plan on heading over to get a Puka Dog. Does the HOHO bus go to the Waikiki Town Center?

I don't know if any of you are still looking for something to do in Honolulu but I have found what looks to be a very good deal on a Submarine Scooter Tour and snorkel excursion. We have booked it for the noon cruise and they said if we got 10 more people who could have the boat to ourselves and with a discount - total $85 each. They are already giving us a good deal, $95 per person for about 2 hours, 20 min. on the scooter.

The reviews on Trip Advisor for this company are positive. I am not really offering to organize this, but we welcome company if you want to join us. We called and spoke with them for sometime so if you have any questions, we might be able to answer them. We called and confirmed the weight allowance on these scooters is 350 pounds.

Here is their web site:

The trick is getting to the harbor. We are renting a car. Their boat is right next to Hanauma Bay, where there is wonderful snorkeling.

Becky just e-mailed me to say she has 3 more sections of material left. Each section is about 39 inchs long and 46 inches wide, with the border of text at the bottom of the section. If anyone wants them, at the $16 each, she will send them with the shirts. Let me know if you are interested.

Alan, I was hoping someone else would answer this because I have NO idea. This will be my first time to Hawaii. It might take a little while, but someone who knows will get back to you.

Thank you for this and thanks to Deb who copied it onto Facebook where I noticed it.

I was looking to buy these tickets directly from the company which would have saved me $14, but this deal just saved me another $11. :thumbsup2

I am early dining and I will just plan on going to buffet or room service that night because I want to spend every moment possible on land...after excursions I want to shop!! Or I may eat somewhere local...
My son and family went to Hawaii a few years ago and brought me back a BEAUTIFUL shopping tote -cloth exterior with birds of paradise, zipper closure and insulated. :thumbsup2 After 2 years of use it still looks brand new. All the ones I buy from grocery stores etc fall apart in less than a year if used all the time. Also want a couple of mu-mu's ...so comfortable for our few hot days here
My daughter decided to help my shopping budget for Hawaii at Christmas by giving me a beautiful pair of earring from a local Hawaiian jeweler so I don't have to worry about finding a pair :rotfl: (she thinks it will keep me out of local jewelry stores)

So tell me then, where is the best place to shop for jewelry on the islands?
