Thanks, it looks like a one way loop. If that is the case then it will not work for us. Oh well. Maybe a city bus. I really don't want to pay for some high taxi charge.

It has been a few weeks since I looked at HOHO site but aren't there 3 different loops and isn't a "loop" a circle so how can it be one way???

So tell me then, where is the best place to shop for jewelry on the islands?

I don't know the best place - haven't looked it up, but I know last cruise there I felt like every store had a fine jewelry section and ran into a lot of jewelry stores.... They were all a little on the expensive side I thought.... I wonder where locals shop???

I also am wondering what a Puka Dog is??

I just got this in a travel newsletter:

Cruise lines agree to mandatory safety drills before departure

Cruise lines worldwide agreed on a new emergency-drill policy requiring mandatory muster for embarking passengers prior to departure from port. CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association), the European Cruise Council and the Passenger Shipping Association put forward the new policy with the support of their member cruise lines. The new policy takes effect immediately.

Puka Dog is only on Oahu (Waikiki Town Center) and Kuaui (Poipu Shopping Village)

We'll be hitting them both!! :lmao:

So they are that good huh ? :rotfl2: The pics. make my mouth water. It's ashame they don't have them at the other ports. Thanks for the info.

My excursion gets us back to the boat at 2:30pm and I was thinking about what else I could do. We are docking right next to the airport where I can rent a jeep. I'm thinking about doing that for a few hours.

Are you planning on just driving around or is there a place you plan on visiting ?

I don't know if any of you are still looking for something to do in Honolulu but I have found what looks to be a very good deal on a Submarine Scooter Tour and snorkel excursion. We have booked it for the noon cruise and they said if we got 10 more people who could have the boat to ourselves and with a discount - total $85 each. They are already giving us a good deal, $95 per person for about 2 hours, 20 min. on the scooter.

The reviews on Trip Advisor for this company are positive. I am not really offering to organize this, but we welcome company if you want to join us. We called and spoke with them for sometime so if you have any questions, we might be able to answer them. We called and confirmed the weight allowance on these scooters is 350 pounds.

Here is their web site:

The trick is getting to the harbor. We are renting a car. Their boat is right next to Hanauma Bay, where there is wonderful snorkeling.

This looks AWESOME ! We did the snuba trek in Aruba and it was so much fun.:woohoo: We wore a helmet ( keeps hair dry ) connected to a hose. I would so do this if I had been to Pearl Harbor before. Sadly I haven't though.

I'm so excited....I was just at the website and tried doing Palo dinner again and I got it. There were more openings. I checked all days and it showed me everything. I got it for 7:30pm on a sea day heading back. I'm happy now.

Our excursion takes us to Lahina so we'll get to see that. I thought we might drive in the opposite direction and take the road to Hana.

Ok, so I'm gonna ask.......what's a Puka dog? Is it like a hot dog?

Check this out : http://www.pukadog.com/waikiki Doesn't it look yummy ? :thumbsup2

I am early dining and I will just plan on going to buffet or room service that night because I want to spend every moment possible on land...after excursions I want to shop!! Or I may eat somewhere local...
My son and family went to Hawaii a few years ago and brought me back a BEAUTIFUL shopping tote -cloth exterior with birds of paradise, zipper closure and insulated. :thumbsup2 After 2 years of use it still looks brand new. All the ones I buy from grocery stores etc fall apart in less than a year if used all the time. Also want a couple of mu-mu's ...so comfortable for our few hot days here
My daughter decided to help my shopping budget for Hawaii at Christmas by giving me a beautiful pair of earring from a local Hawaiian jeweler so I don't have to worry about finding a pair :rotfl: (she thinks it will keep me out of local jewelry stores)

The tote sounds lovely. Won't your DD be surprised you are shopping. :rotfl2:
I am only looking to get a couple of things. Well at least that's what I tell myself.;)

:yay: If you have dinner on the 12th, That is a semi-formal night you can pack one less dress. :rolleyes1

Brave girl !!! I wouldn't feel comfortable driving on that road. Does sound like fun though.

Palo dinner is on day 12 but it's May 10th. Not to worry, I was going to double one dress as a Palo/semi-formal. Like you said, one less to pack.

My DH will drive. We're picking up a jeep. It'll be a blast!!!

Disney always has their muster drill before the ship leaves the dock (at least on the cruises that I have been on). I think that's always been there policy.

:rotfl2: You were confusing me with the dates. I forgot about the 2nd semi-formal. :)

Lookie what arrived. THANKS VAL - such a small number of words for such effort on your part. The material is so neat ---I cannot wait to start on my project.......

We are still crossing our fingers that we can cruise....a long story about work related issues........but meanwhile, I think everyone will be so pleased with the one of a kind pattern.......

I'll be glad to try to answer questions, not a great seamstress but I will try.

Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!

That looks fantastic. I can't wait until I will get to see the shirts.

That is great news. I will pay our cruise off tomorrow morning and hopefully we can get Palo dinner, too.

Disney always has their muster drill before the ship leaves the dock (at least on the cruises that I have been on). I think that's always been there policy.

As a rule they do the safety drill before the ship leaves the dock. I know though that they used to make an exception every now and again. Last year on Superbowl Sunday, they postponed both the safety drill and the sail away party to the first sea day on the Wonder.

They do have puka dogs at other ports. We have had them at the original shop on Kauki, it is near Poipu. YUM

Sorry you won't be joining us on the sub scooter but you won't want to miss Pearl Harbor, it is very special. The Missouri is very interesting too.

Does anybody know how many formal wear and semi-formal days we will have for a 15 night cruise. I remember my PC cruise which was as long as this one....had mexican night and tropical night in addition to pirate night. I think there were two formal and I don't remember how many semi-formal nights there were....one, maybe two. Plus Palo clothes for brunch and dinner if I get lucky. Oh, I'm Platinum so they have to give me at least one free meal there.

Since my current clothes don't seem to fit well anymore, it's time to go shopping and I need to know what I'm going to need to wear first.

I am platinum and on a previous cruise I assumed I get a dinner and waited until I was on the ship to make my reservation. I was told nothing was available as they take the paying guests first so I never did get the Palo's dinner.
