May I beg a favor from a very kind Platinum? Would someone please look up the times for me for the following 2 excursions. I'm trying to figure out if they can both be done on Oahu.
  • Arizona Memorial & City Tour
  • Kualoa Experience: Movie Sites, Ranch Tour & Jungle Expedition
My hope is we can do the Arizona Memorial first thing in the morning, and then the Kualoa Experience later.

These are both morning tours.

So now I have changed my mind ;):rolleyes1

In Maui we are not doing Hana Picnic and would like to to the Iao Valley and Plantation Tour. So I sure hope DCL gets the computer fixed so we can book it!

If not, I would go with the Ocean Center one, but would prefer the Iao Valley. This way we can go to the Luau.

I am sure I will change my mind again :)

Debbie

Debbie....I know what you mean....it took me so long to figure out what excursions we wanted....in Maui we too wanted the Iao Valley & Plantation but when we couldn't book it on opening day, I decided to go with the Maui Ocean Centre and Plantation....then I researched the Maui Ocean Centre and I'm glad there was a glitch in the system because now I'm excited to be seeing the Ocean Centre. We are booked on the Luau as well....although it was expensive, I said to Mom...if we're going to Hawaii....we're going to a Luau....

We set sail in 16 weeks! That's 112 days!

Thanks Janis!!!!!! I can't wait for this cruise!!!!!

I haven't been on the boards recently. Hope all of you had a good holiday season.

Want to give you an update on the shirt process.

I sent Becky our 50% down payment and closed the orders. I received a number of requests for shirts and have had to advise these individuals I would put them on a waiting list.

I received copies of the design film from the factory asking for final approval. The artwork the artists sent was beautiful, and I posted the images. I was not pleased with the film: The resolution was poor on the pictures in the lei and I didn't like some of the color saturation. After multiple exchanges, I spoke with the owner of the company. He assured me the film was not of good quality only because it had been copied numerous times before I received it. He assures me he is confident the quality will be good and will refund us 100% if we are not satisfied. I was satisfied with this agreement -- and don't know whether there is anything more we can do at this time.

They are hoping to have the fabric to me by end of month.

Then I received a notice that the company would only be sending shirts that passed 100% inspection, and that due to the quality control issues they may have up to 10% of the orders they cannot fill. After a heated exchange on this issue, the bottom line is we will get our full order, at 100% quality, or we can cancel all of it with a full refund due. They have agreed and will make sure they have enough over-runs to get 100% filled. I have advised them that if they have over-runs that are beyond our current paid total, we have a waiting list that could buy some or all of them.

I plan to use the US Postal Service to get the shirts to you. I have set up an account and have input the mailing addresses into their automated system. The USPS rejected or changed several to meet their standardized format. I will be sending out e-mails to everyone with a copy of the USPS label and your order info for you to review. You only need to respond if there is a problem so PLEASE read it carefully and let me know if I need to override anything. I'll also let you know when the packages are mailed and how you can track the delivery.

This all has been an enormous challenge for someone who does not work in sales, marketing, or art. I hope and believe that everything has been anticipated and dealt with.

With the workshops split, is it possible for me to do a workshop with DD9?

I would rather keep the kids and the adults separate. When I first offered this, I had mixed workshops and this did not really work out for me. On the Panama Canal cruise I did separate adult and kids workshops and this worked much better. You are of course welcome to keep your daughter company if she is attending a kids workshop. I had a bunch of mums coming along to the kids' workshop with their kids to watch.

These are both so beautiful Corinna. Please sign me up. But I can't decide.....I want to do one of each. Is that possible. I would be happy to pay for both. YEAH!!! Thank you so much for putting this together.

That is most certainly possible.

Corinna

Thank you for the emails that I received. I saw many tried to send me a PM but my box was full. I emptied my PM box so whoever needs to PM me can. Since the majority of people want to stay at the DoubleTree in San Pedro, we decided to stay there too.

Who's interested in doing a "Minnie" :rotfl2: Dis Meet on the 28th? Let me know and I'll see what can be arranged. I'm so excited that I don't want to wait until I get on the cruise to meet everyone when we can meet whomever the night before.:woohoo::yay:

I am sorry that you had such a nightmare with this. Thanks so much for sorting this out for us.

Corinna

Val...THANK YOU for all you have done for us! You did a splendid job :)

Scavenger Hunt

There has been a little change of plan due to the sheer number of people signing up for this. Rather that me printing all the Scavenger Hunt packs, which would take up a significant part of my luggage allowance, I will email this as a PDF file to everybody signed up. Then you can print your own and bring it on the cruise.

Please fill out the below form:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dG5vWFAtd21XVE9rNnBSMDg1RkN2ZEE6MQ

I will then email the file to everybody who has filled out the form at the beginning of April.

Secret Mickey

If you have ever participated in Secret Santa, then you have a good idea what this is about. You will be allocated a family or an individual and it is then your task to spoil them rotten during the cruise. The budget for this is $25 to $30. This does not have to be anything faqncy. During the cruise, you should drop a little something off for your Secret Mickey 2 or 3 times. This can be a note, some candy, a souvenir, a magnet, etc. On the last sea day there will be a reveal session and during this, you should give your Secret Mickey a slightly bigger present.

You can sign up for Secret Mickey through the following links:

Invidual

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...V3JZMFRqSlE6MQ

Groups, couples, families (up to 4 people)

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...MzM1OW53alE6MQ

Even if you had already filled out the spreadsheet, can you please fill out the form as I will delete the Secret Mickey tab on the spreadsheet shortly. A big thank you goes to Stephanie (Brooklyn for pointing me in the right direction)

Val...THANK YOU for all you have done for us! You did a splendid job :)

It is very kind of both of you to say but not necessary. The reason I wanted to share the update with everyone is to let you know the risk we have. I have been assured we will "love the shirts" but was VERY unhappy when asked to approve the film and when I was told there was a slight possibility I wouldn't get 100% of our order. I have tried to mitigate these problems as much as I could but what will be will be.

I have learnt alot, with help from all of you with your advise and input, as I went along on this process. Hopefully it will all work out in the end.

Each group will have a maximum of 6 participants, but I am happy to offer each workshop more than once if the demand is there. All workshops are suitable for beginners. Adult workshops will take place in the Outlook Cafe and Kids/ Tweens and Teens workshops will take place in the Promenade Lounge.

If you are interested in any of the workshops please send me a PM with the workshop or workshops you are interested in and for the Kids/ Tweens and Teens workshops the name and the age of the participant. Also, now that you have had the chance to see the prototypes, could you let me know which theme you would like to do for the bracelet.

At this stage this is just an informal sign up and I will take sign ups until 6 weeks ahead of the cruise.

Sounds good, I'll chat with DD and let you know soon.

I promised that I would post some photos of the prototypes of the charm bracelets that we will be making in some of the jewellery workshops on this cruise. I have finished the first two and thought I would share the photos:

They are likely to evolve a bit depending on what is available when I place the order for the materials, but they should give you a good idea of what to expect. I am hoping to do the Pirate and Princess versions tomorrow.

Corinna

Oh my goodness!!! VERY beautiful, Corinna. :worship: I'd like to make these two - especially as the Champagne Girls one would be such a lovely gift for Mandy (UK Angel) who can't make the cruise... :goodvibes
