April 29, 2012 ~ Aloha! ~ Inagural Wonder to Hawaii-Part 3

I spent my 40th Birthday at the World last May. It is amazing how special the Disney family makes you feel on your day:love:

I have to wait until the 30th to sign up for excursions. Then in Honolulu we are renting a car so we can go to the Swap Meet at the stadium and see Pearl Harbor and maybe watch some surfers on Northshore, does anyone know how long we are in port on May 6th?

Thanks!:dance3:

According to the DCL website, we leave port at 7:30 p.m.

This is the one I would like to do. I hope DCL will fix it on website before the 15th.:rolleyes1 If not I am looking for something else to do.

call the number on the DCL site. When they tell you they can't book it, ask for help from a supervisor - Sue was the supervisor that helped us. Explain that you are Platinum and are supposed to be able to book now and the site will not let you, although others are booked. The supervisor should be able to get you booked on that excursion. It might take a day or so, but we ARE booked on it now with the help of Guest Services supervisor.

Darn, so much for school, I guess it will be a true vacation

Thanks!

We went to Disney over the holidays and we had family visiting from CT. Fourteen of us went to Mickey's Backyard BBQ at Fort Wilderness. I always spoke highly of Diseny quality but this event was the worse Disney thing I attended. The food was COLD. The sound system was poor and the show itself was in my opinion not up to Disney Standards. It was an expensive evening. There were some little children in our party and when it came to dancing with the characters it was pure chaos. The pushing and shoving was dangerous. My cousins little ones could not even get near the characters. This is one event that I would not recommend but if you go and it is in the winter make sure you are warmly dressed- even take a little blanket with you- it can get cold at night and remember you are outside for this event.

Is there a way to find out who the main crew will be, captain, cruise director, activities director etc? Just curious so I can picture things better in my dreams!

That cracked me up! Well, there's a reason I think our CD will be Christiaan, but I can't remember why :lmao: Anybody know someone about to take a Wonder cruise? We can have them start grilling the CMs.

Since this group are big Disney Cruise Fans I hope someone knows the answer. In Jan 1 Los Angeles Times, it mentions that the Wonder Mexico schedule for Dec 9,16,23& 30 2012 has been scrapped in favor of a new itinerary. Does this mean that the Wonder is leaving it's West Coast San Pedro Port? Whats up???
Joyce:hippie:

The latest gossip/rumors/hints I've been seeing (some from TAs) is that the Wonder will come east for a while (giving DCL a shot at a couple more Panama Canal cruises). If so, I'll be interested to see where she will be going for Christmas 2012. Also, looks like the Magic will be back in Europe the summer of 2013. Think we'll have this info this month or early February so we can stop fretting about this soon!

Checked the lanyard list, and my stuff is A-OK! :thumbsup2

Is the Maui luau still showing availability? I know folks were worried it would fill up with the Platinums.

.

I am new to the DISboards and I just wanted to say hello!!! My name is Chris, from Orlando. This will be DCL trip #4 for me, third consecutive on the Wonder. Thanks Monica for getting me set up on here. Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting a few new ones :D

Thanks Angie but that won't work for me. The person I am sharing the cabin with is Platinum. I am Gold. If I am not able to book it on the 15th then I will call DCL.

Welcome aboard! :)

I think you are correct, Erik. Funny how every cruise we get different answers every time we talk with DCL. :sad2: Wonder where they get their info. :confused3

:rotfl2: They roll dice in the break room, post it on the bulletin board and repeat at irregular intervals. :lmao:

If your roommate is platinum, then so are you for the purpose of booking excursions. I'd try it now. Tell them you are in a platinum stateroom.

The booking engine for excursions doesn't seem to be operating right now (I've been checking to see if they come up with the helicopter tours) so can't check on luau availability.

If you check and it's full - please don't tell me, I don't think I can take the disappointment.:sad::sad::sad::sad::sad::sad::sad:

I don't even have the honeymoon part to compensate like Erik does!:sad::sad::sad::sad::sad::sad::sad:

I just have the cruise to Hawaii! --- oh wait -- okay, I'm over it, I'm cruising to Hawaii!

:surfweb:

Is a anyone booking the Road to Hana Picnic? What are some of the things you are doing in Mexico- that is if you are getting off the ship

Your right ! Thank you.:) I saw your post and I was like umm no I thought I could only book if the same excursions were booked because it wouldn't let me book the Maui one. That is the only port we are doing something different.:rotfl2: What are the odds the one excursion I wanted that was different had a giltch in the system.:rolleyes1 I also keep forgetting that the reservation is through a TA ( friend ) so I just sent her a note to call DCL to book.

I checked and it is still available. :wizard: There is also availability for Palo & Spa.

No Looks really nice just takes up the whole day and lot's of time in the car for us. Haven't decided about Mexico yet. Might just get off the ship to get my vanilla then get back on.:confused3

Doing the Tequila excursion in Mexico. Not much I want to do there other than taste tequila..

Road to Hana was interesting but it didn't get back to the ship in time to go to the luau.
