April 26, 2013 8 night Magic out of Galveston

:smickey:Hi Everyone - Due to the itinary change my gang has picked a sailing on the Fantasy so we have transfered to another ship. Wish you all a Fantastic Cruise and have a Wonderful Time. :rolleyes1

Aww...have a great cruise! I do understand the change! Hope the Fantasy is wonderful for you!:goodvibes

Mine too. Driving me a little bit crazy, but then again, with the Hawaii cruise all of my past cruises got messed up on their site. At one point they said we had done a 15 - Night Hawaiian in 2005, 2008, and 2012! LOL! Now 2005 and 2008 say's Pacific Coast (instead of Mexican Riveria as it should). The Hawaiian say's 15SC (whatever that means). So I'm not holding my breath on a quick fix. I just hope it doesn't mess up our ability to book things.

You ARE so right!!! I don't need any more changes as dh isn't exactly 'jumping for joy' right now. He's fine if I want to stay with it, but I'm concerned if they keep making changes, we'll have to jump ship...:rotfl: Here's hoping they make all the changes, get everything in order on the DCL site, and that'll it'll be filled with pixiedust!

I wonder if we'll have an influx when they release dates on September 5th?

My DS starts kindergarten today, so pray for me cause he's up already.

Question for y'all:
Are any of you taking kids on their first trip to Disney World via this cruise?

We are and I'm a bit overwhelmed thinking and planning a first trip with a one day time limit. DH says just to focus and stay at MK. But his favorite park is EPCoT (and we haven't been in 9 years).

Sorry, I didnt' follow - an influx of what?

My kids first time to WDW also! I was there many years ago when I was pregnant with DS. But that was before DCL, before CC, before AK - so I'm as excited as if it was my first time!:cool1: I can't decide if I'm more excited for WDW or for a CC Cabana! :rotfl:

An influx of new to this cruise people. Sorry, I didn't mean to be confusing!

I'm thinking we'll spend nearly all day at Magic Kingdom what with new Fantasyland.

Oh, I see! I'm sure the confusion is ALL on my side, I didn't realize dates were being released Sept 5th. I've been so busy with work, kids, and another cruise we're getting ready for a in few weeks, that I haven't really been following things. It will be interesting to see if things pick up!

We'll probably spend the majority of our time at Animal Kingdom. Although I'm still considering whether we'll hop anywhere else.

:rotfl: Gotta love when they're excited for Kindergarten!!! Bet he'll do great!

And don't get too overwhelmed (I know, it's easier said than done), and don't try to overplan, it just makes expectations harder, I think.

Our first trip with our little two, we went to MK, Epcot, and then MGM. We didn't park hop. Knowing this is your sons first trip, and to keep that 'Magic', I think I'd do MK too. Just standing at the entrance, is so magical. And there's so much to see, characters to meet, and rides to ride. And luckily, the time of year we're going, the crowds should be really managable. Late April is a great time to go, crowds are lower and temps nice.
Depending on his size, there's just so many things he can do. Did you mention CRT for lunch? If he's a picky eater, I'd bypass this one, and maybe do a character lunch at Crystal Palace. My 9 dd did not like the food (we weren't greatly impressed either) and Cinderella came by for less than a minute. I've heard the breakfast is good, but lunch was all we could get. We've done it once, and don't have a desire to do it again. You could also do Chef Mickeys (the buffet is not the absolute BEST food in the world), but the kids, the ambience, the par-tay are soo much fun, especially for newbies! We've done CMickey's as our tradition for almost 10 years, and have the picture each year in front of the 'giant plate with Mickey' scene. It's great fun!
If you need any helps, let us know. We'd love to help!

:goodvibes What fun for your kids!! We still love WDW...my ds(25), dd(24) and 13(dd). If you need any ideas for rides, what NOT to miss, let us know. We love to help. In fact, I've met with 3 families this year and helped plan their trips, just so they DON'T miss the best things for their age groups! Meeting with a couple on Friday, and they're just like you...soooo excited!

And understand about the Cabana excitement! Our last cruise, our friends had one and LOVED it!

Thanks, we're kind of an "odd" bunch. DS(17) won't go on anything remotely like a roller coaster, while DD(10) believes the faster the better. Trying to please them both is always challenging. My sister is coming with us on this cruise, although she hasn't said whether she will go to the parks with us or not, but if she does she can sit out the ride (she doesn't like them either) with my son, while I take my little daredevil on things. ;)

I was so excited to go to DCL website and see they fixed the name of the cruise to 8-Night Bahamian Cruise on Disney Magic - but then I clicked the itinerary and it is still the old ports.

:thumbsup2You sound like us! My 25ds loves everything, while my 24dd can't ride TOT, or some of the rollercoasters, and 12dd loves everything. It really works for us though, since dh wipes out easier than any of us:rotfl:

First year Mission Space opened, ds and I rode, and talked dh into riding while the girls sat out. I turned to ds and said "BEST ride EVER", then turned to dh who was a turtle green color and said "I think I'm done for the day"...bwahahaha. Poor thing. So, yep, we're 5 of us, each with their own likes and dislikes, but we love sharing all things Disney!

:confused3 I know!!! Me too! But I did 'recheck' cruises, and our cruise had gone up from when we first booked! So :yay:, there's something positive (at least for us)!

We switched to this cruise today (from Jan 4th we were thiniking we're not going to do anyway) :) Luckily able to get the same rooms we wanted. :) Ok so now about the ONLY thing bummer about this cruise is my son won't get to ride aquaduck (since he missed our trip on Fantasy this summer) and won't get to be in the NEW fancy forward ship teen club- instead his first time will be in the stack. But oh well buddy, chin up. LOL

Oh gosh. I'll have to check again. Earlier today it showed the new ports! :worried:

:welcome: Glad to have y'all aboard! And yes, bummer your ds won't hit the Aquaduck, but think your ds will still love everything about the Magic!~

I checked my itinerary...still showing older ports. But that's ok, I still know where we're going!:rotfl:

And FYI: page 2 post 30 contains all our meets info! I'll add you to the list!:goodvibes

And.....I think if everyone is in agreement, we'll post the closing date of the FE exchange 75 days out. That way, if you're making yours, you aren't caught in a jam. Everyone ok with this? That's what our last cruise agreed too, and it worked perfectly. If ppl have to cancel, they'll usually do it before making that final payment also. Let me know your thoughts...:goodvibes
