April 26, 2013 8 night Magic out of Galveston

:goodvibes Bless her little heart! Just tell her Mickey and Minnie are waiting back on the ship, and she'll be so tired, she'll want to go back! I can't EVEN imagine her little excitement! Hope y'all can get on the early bus out so that she can see MK when it opens, all the Magic, Music and Wonder in her little eyes will be worth it! She'll love the new Fantasyland for sure! Now if you can just get her to NOT have nightmares!:scared1:

My ds had night terrors/walked in his sleep until he was 8, thought we might have to do something medically after the last time, because he walked OUT of the house, but thankfully, we learned what triggered his and they finally stopped! Hope your baby doll doesn't have them often and the only dreams she has will be how wonderful WDW and DCL is! pixiedust:

She doesn't know we're going yet. We just watched one of those travel Disney specials.

Oh!!! Have you asked DCL to send you a DVD? That one is great! We loved just the anticipation! You are going to have fun days ahead with this surprise!:)

We've got the DVD, but I prefer the old travel channel specials

Especially the cruise one as it predates the Dream class so we don't have to do the whole "that's not on our ship" thing.
DS loves the WDW free planning DVD, though. Ive tried to explain we won't be hitting all four parks but just MK.

Wow - that seems closer than I thought! :thumbsup2 We are going down to Galveston tonight :drive: to be there to see her arrive tomorrow - at least, that's the plan, if she arrives uber early - then I'll probably still be in bed! :faint: At least we'll be there for the sail away. :lmao:

Cool! Wish we could go, but I think the kids would want to go now...

:woohoo:How fun is that?!!!!! I would soooo be doing that if we lived close! But hopefully, we'll just have to listen (and maybe see?) someones Magic viewing report !!!!

Hello fellow cruisers. We just booked this cruise and cannot wait. Coming from Dallas and this will be DCL trip #7. We were married on the Wonder in Jan '09 and have been hooked ever since. We were just on the Magic in May on the last cruise before it went to NYC for a 5 day cruise which included Key West

My friend in NYC did the 8 day from there and said the WDW day was the best day of the trip. While I am looking forward to the WDW day, all the sea days are appealing too!

We are going to be brave and bring our 6 month old (at time of cruise) on his first cruise. He has some catching up to do. A little strange booking a cruise for our son who hasn't even been born yet.

When we were on the Magic in May, they did rehearsals for an added show to accommodate the 8 day itineraries. It is a musical tribute to Walt Disney. It was very cool. Has a number with a montage of theme park attractions like the Tiki Room. I recommend especially if you have cruised before and seen the standard shows.

First off welcome to the boards!
Is this your first child? How exciting! In retrospect, it was easier to pack them up to travel before they could walk much and then again after they're fully potty trained. I wish I'd scheduled more trips with my bitty babies.
That's wonderful to hear about a new show, I wonder if it ran during the New York sailings.
Off to find navigators.

The navigators I found (June 2nd 8 night) go:

Welcome Aboard
Twice Charmed
Villains tonight
Comedy and Magic of Scott Alexander
"Walt Disney. The Dream Goes On"<This the new one?
Avengers
Disney Dreams
And last Remember the Magic

Welcome :welcome: & congrats on the baby on the way! We will for sure check out the new show - I bet it is awesome! The whole itinerary appeals to me - there's not one part of it that I am not looking forward to! :rotfl2::cool1:

Hi everyone *waving*!! My husband and I just discovered this cruise and we are SO excited to book!! This will be our second cruise, the first was last September, the westbound transatlantic on the Magic. It was a blast and now we are totally hooked on DCL. We have two DD's ages 4 and 6 who love everything Disney. If you're still reading this, thank you haha, I have a few questions. My husband is active duty Air Force and is currently serving in Afghanistan. We were planning a trip to WDW but found this itinerary and fell in love, I mean come on it's the best of both worlds ;). My question is, we will not be able to book until sometime in February, is that waaaay to late to book the April 26th sailing?? Is this a popular itinerary that will sell out fast? I would hate to miss out on this fantastic cruise! Thank you all for any help and info, we hope we will get to sail the sea with everyone here! Yay :)

Hi  And glad you peeked in on us and HOPE you can join in! First and most importantly, let me say how PrOuD we are of your dh!!!! Thank him for us for serving our country, and all of your sacrifices made!

You asked is it too late in February. Here's the deal. This cruise was originally Western and they told us last month that it had been changed to a Bahamian/Floridian Cruise. That being said, it really is too soon to say if it will or will NOT sell out fast. Might I suggest you call DCL for the following?

Ask first, are there any military discounts ( I thought I read where they were giving them at a certain time).

And then I would ask about booking and cancelling. We've booked but have until Feb 10 for our payoff date. Which means, if I cancel before then?:scratchin I get all my monies back. Is there any way you could book a 'dummy' cruise? That's what we did. Booked our first one with a date we 'might' have been able to go, but changed (not cancelled) it to this cruise. So, if you could book now, feasibly if things didn't work out, you could change it and/or get your money back.

And realize, Disney doesn't get cheaper as time goes along, although sometimes you can snag a last minute cruise or try Travelocity/Expedia or other major travel sites.

Also, know that the Magic is going European in the summer and won't be back until late fall. Her last Floridian cruise is in May. I don't think she comes back until November (but you can always check on the DCL site as I could be wrong).

I wouldn't want to steer you in the wrong direction, but do know that the quicker you book, the better. We're booked but as of yet, still NOT definite. We shall see BEFORE February 10!:rotfl:

And feel free to ask away on here! We've got some very veteran cruisers who can probably answer your questions better than this chik!:)

The Walt Disney The Dream Goes on is not exactly a new show. They break it out for the longer cruises. We were on the last cruise before the Magic went to NY and they did a preview of it as a rehearsal during the day. We are really liked it. Especially the theme park numbers. Lots of music and it basically shapes the Walt Disney story. If you have gone to the Walt Disney Family museum of read any history on Walt you know the few false starts he had. This captures each decade or so in 5-10 minutes musical numbers. Definitely recommend. Probably not as kid friendly as Buzz Lightyear or Twice Charmed. I am not a fan of Villians Tonight, but I am not as young as I used to be so may be I am just turning into my father, lol.

I am former Army and the family we are going with is still on Active Duty. We asked about the military discount for this cruise and there isn't one (yet). Looks like they roll out the military discounts about 3-4 months before cruising date. But that is just my conjecture based on the cruises that have them. Our friends booked it now to lock in the price today and are going to keep checking and hopefully they post one before the cancellation date. The room prices go up as the ship books up so it is always a gamble. Just be mindful of the cancellation date.

We booked a cruise on the Magic in May and just moved it to this once they changed the itinerary. Booking a dummy cruise on the ship to get the discount is the way to go. I usually book a 3 day dummy cruise so it has the smallest deposit. Then pay the delta deposit when we move it to a longer one.

Okay, so I used to Dis-ign, until the overall volume and time just made it not fun anymore...
But I felt like making these for us so:
