APRIL 25,2012 5 night THE MAGIC KEY WEST CRUISE

I used some guessing to upgrade to a GTY a few weeks ago. Was in an 11C and got upgraded to a 9C for an extra 40 bucks total. Was worth it to me, we may still try to upgrade at the port to a veranda depending on the price.

We're ready for this, 14 days until we high tail it out of here on a driving adventure to the port and then hop on that ship :)

:thumbsup2 Good for YOU. We have been upgraded 3 different times booking room 5016 on the WONDER. This cruise will be the first time we actually booked a verandah room....:lmao:.... and no I did not get any extra money back from taxes this year. :rotfl2:

Randy--Love the pillow case and the pirate family picture! Did you just turn it into Guest Services or can I ask Concierge to do it for us? I am thinking about bringing a picture frame to have signed, I am hoping it will be big enough for all of the signatures.

Kids FE's are finally done, working on adults this week. Still haven't made my FE yet,,,hoping to fit it in this weekend between football.

13 days until we get on the plane!!! woo hoo Can't wait to go to Universal before hand.

Jessica--Good luck on your 5k! We just signed up for one at school for the 21st. My two oldest are doing it with me.

Alright--I know that the dress code debate gets very heated on the boards but,,,,,are you having your young boys wear pants every night to dinner? I am bringing a pair of khaki pants for them for dress up night (not sure if it's semi-or formal night) but I really don't want to pack more pants for them. They will be dressed with nice polo/button up shirts and thinking I will bring some nice khaki shorts also. What are you all doing?

Unlike my DD, my DS DISLIKES dressing up. I am packing one pair of khaki's and he can wear a different polo shirt each night. I already know he will ONLY wear this attire to dinner.

Wow that is awesome. I can't even show it to Dylan or there will be Legos everywhere! Kinda the last thing I need right now while I'm packing all of their toys up. We found out we have a defective carpet from the mill and now they are coming out on Friday to re carpet my ENTIRE house:sad1: not what I want to be doing just before we leave. I can't even finish pack my suitcases:scared: hopefully I will get it all in order by Friday night and at least back in the right rooms so I can pack next weekend after the 5k with mydaughter and our girl scout troop.
Wow! Sorry you have to go through all of that! On the bright side of things, it will look really nice when it's all done! I love new carpet!

I have never traveled concierge, but I imagine they probably have more lattitude than guest services does. I turned mine in at guest services.

This time, my kids are having photo mats done at guest services, and I got them a 9 inch letter for their first initial for them to carry around to the meet n greets to get signed. They love anything with an autograph on it. (They are actually taking it to the Magic Kingdom the day we go to try to get Flynn and Rapunzel to sign. :wizard:

My DS is 13, so I don't guess you call him real young, but I'm making him wear slacks each night... not because DCL would make him, I am just trying to get him more accustomed to wearing dress pants. I'll probably even throw in a tie or two along the trip just for good measure.

Cruises are our best chances to get pictures of the family dressed up a little bit.

I honestly don't remember what folks wore on the last cruise. I think maybe the first night we were all in shorts because we didn't get our luggage in time.pirate:

Completely OT, are you related to THE John Kerry?

I am packing one pair of khakis for the semi formal night. Last year my boys didn't dress up at all and wore shorts to dinner, like I was really getting a 4 and 6 year old to change jut for dinner:rotfl2: my DD likes getting dressed up and has packed her own, nicer clothes for dinners. Nice pants and a nice shirt or a sundress. Nothing big. The most you will see on any of us is maybe a nice pair of pants and a nice shirt.

I wish we could go to Lego but not this time:sad1: my boys would have been in heaven. They get excited when I take them to the Lego store lol.

Thanks. I was hoping to get it done after we got back but they are not being flexible at all! I got the phone call thurs night. Um...thanks for the warning...I think. I can't wait to have carpet that isn't falling apart every time I turn around.

Mcmommy77,

I found this for your DS!!!

Frozen coconut limeade

5 1/2 cups ice
5/8 cup coconut rum (for non-alcoholic version, substitute cream of coconut, like Coco Lopez)
4-5 tablespoons frozen limeade concentrate (substitute lemonade version if you’d like)
1/8 cup water
Add all ingredients to blender and blend until smooth.

I'm packing one pair of khaki's for Malachi for dinner. He'll wear them with polo shirts. He loves to dress up, so he'll most likely be wearing a button up & tie on semi-formal night.

Now - if I could only get Kevin to wear one. Yeah right - like that's going to happen.:rotfl2: His normal attire is camo's & a work shirt (other than when we go to church), so I'm doing good to get him to bring his "church" clothes.

Finishing up our FE gifts finally!!! I am trying to remember who had the nut allergy. I remember reading it in our posts but I couldn't find it when I went back. If anyone could help me with this I would appreciate it. I don't want to taint this room's other gifts we have for them by putting something containing nuts in their bag. Thanks in advance for your help! :goodvibes

It's Princesskenziesmom in room 8548. Her DS has the nut allergy so the entire room cannot have any.
