April 23, 2005 Western

I am DVC member and just traded my points for the cruise. In addition I had vouchers from a flight that we were bumped off in February so no cost for the air. FREE CRUISE!!!

We should have booked on board during our last cruise but we didn't think we'd be going again so soon. We planned on going to the Poly for our anniversary but since we're going to WDW in December, we thought it would be too close together and wanted to try the 7 day.

We're also DVC members and our first trip "home" will be in December!

We booked thru Disney this time. Last time we rebooked while onboard but this past year we decided to take a year off (we went to Hawaii instead) and did not think to rebook.

I really would not worry too much about a full ship...the 2 other DCL cruises we went on were full but it never really felt like it to us. Of course our kids are older and they did the family pool on their own while we were at the adult pool so it did not feel crowded to us.

We have never been to a Dismeet...just has never worked out for us as wew always travel with a big group...first time was 12 and last year was 29! This cruise there will be 15 of us.

Hey everyone....i just realized that we are now under 300 days...that is a milestone:cheer2: :cheer2:
I also hate to see us get pushed to anything but the first page so....bump!

We booked through DU this time and got a great rate. We will be traveling with three other families (about 15 of us). One of the families used All Seas and they were happy with them too. They couldn't use DU because all of their discount cabins for this cruise are sold out. Don't worry about being crowded. We traveled on a full ship last August and it never bothered us. I think people are beginning to find out that New York schools will be out the last week in April.

OOOOOOOHHHHHHH....that answers my question I just asked on the regular DCL board! We must have been too late for the discount this time. Geez, I really thought we would have booked early enough. Stupid me! :(

We were slipping a little so...........:bounce: BUMP :bounce:

Thanks Stimpy...gotta keeps us on the first page. Hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July!!

It's great to see all these NY's (LI'ers) will be on the cruise. I'll be there with my DW, DS's 9+7, and DD 4. This will be our second DIS cruise. We did the three day in July '03.

We plan on flying down Friday afternoon and spend the night at the MCO Hyatt. Anyone else planning on doing the same?

Welcome aboard Nowaski!

I'm thinking about doing this. I have to wait and see what classes my son will have on Friday afternoons before I get out tickets. I know he'll have a huge homework packet during the break. I want to be sure he gets everything before we leave.

I'm trying to get my sister's family to join my son and I on this cruise.:bounce: :Pinkbounc

Welcome Nowaski...we are also flying down Friday morning and staying at MCOHyatt. We'll see you there!

We are either going to stay at Radisson Port or Ron Jon's in Cocoa Beach. We haven't decided yet.

We still haven't decided about the night before since DS will have school that day. We'd have to schedule a late flight.

On the day we return from the cruise, we're planning on driving to WDW for the day, staying over night there and going home Sunday night. Got to get some extra use out of those AP's and our DVC points :) Since DD will be turning 1 yr old right before our cruise, we thought we'd take her to MK to get her first haircut. We did the same for DS when he was 13 1/2 months and thought it would be great to do it for her too.

I have a question for previous cruisers......has anyone told DCL you were celebrating 2 events? We are taking this cruise to celebrate our 10th anniversary, which is in March, and DD turns 1 on April 21. Will they still have a cake for her, if we let them know, even though it's 2 days before we cruise?

Nothing against people from New York, but is there anyone on this cruise from somewhere else?

I am orginally from Northeast Phila (Oxford circle),then Bucks County, but have lived in S. Florida Fort Lauderdale area
for 24 years.

I have a qustions or two. If you choose not to take any excurisons while in port, is there stuff to do on board. The last cruise we took, not on Disney, when they docked it was like the shipped closed up.

If you just want to go into port and not do any excurions is it safe enough to go by yourself.

Neither by DH or myself are water people. He likes to fish, I don't, and neither of us do any of the swimming stuff. Yes we both swim, but is not that important to us.

What would any of you experts suggest.

They do have activities for people who stay on the ship. Not as much as an at-sea day but enough that you won't be bored. All the pools are open and I think the spa is too. On our last DCL cruise, 4 day Wonder, we stayed on the ship while in Freeport. DS spent most of the day in the kids' club and DH and I spent time at the spa and pool.

You can check the navigators at ***************** It's a really helpful site. :)

BTW, we're trying to talk my sister and her DH into going....they're from DE. :D

Hmmmm, I tried three times to post the site, but can't keeps coming up with *****. If you need the site, PM me, I'll try to send it that way :)

We are flying out at 5:5o on Friday night and starying at the Ron Jon's. Got a great rate with AAA. My gilrs are in HS and I could never take them out early. They will be doing any homework on the flight down, so no worry when we are on the ship.
The ports we are going to are very safe Grand Cayman has great shopping as well as beaches. Cozumel is a shopping haven as well. Key west is awesome as well.
No worry to let someone go it alone.
Can't wait to board the ship!!!!
