April 21, 2007 -- Western Magic -- anyone?

Those are great photos, Amypopcorn:: the girls look so cute! I love the one with your daughter and her drink - which has about twenty cherries in it:rotfl:
And, EVERY night she had that same drink, with TONS of cherries!! She was in absolute heaven. The first night, they brought it to her in a kiddie cup with a lid and straw and she wanted it in a big cup, so she could SEE all of the cherries!!!:lmao:

On our first cruise, my oldest wouldn't eat anything. He didn't like the chicken strips (lord knows why), doesn't eat burgers and had already had a hot dog for lunch. So, the server asked him what he would like for dinner, he said peanut butter sandwich. They came back with the biggest PB sandwich we have ever seen. 4 slices of bread with PB between each slice. Had it every night after that. He has does not stop talking about it when we ask what they are going to eat on this cruise.

It's funny the things they remember. All that yummy food and my picky kid is looking forward to a peanut butter sandwich? :sad2:

Here's some more photos of our party:

Since all the photos are scattered on different pages, I'm taking the liberty of reposting them here; I hope that's all right with you all:flower3:
Good morning all!!! Here's a photo of all of us from this past fall.

I'm trying to post a couple photos with the wonderful help of the previous tutorial, so I guess we'll see how well I follow directions...:lmao:

This is our family picture for Christmas cards in 2005 (I know it's old, but DH & I haven't changed much, except his goatee is alot longer.

This was our 2006 Christmas card with just the boys...getting all grown up.

So that's us (hopefully)! I will probably submit my info for the list of everyone, but some of it has not been decided yet (Fri hotel, transportation to port, etc.). Plus, I can't open spreadsheets on this computer for some reason, so I wouldn't be able to "get to know" everyone. Maybe I can figure it all out soon.

I hope this works this time. It's not the best picture but we have so few with all of us. From left to right...

All 6 of us are cruising ...

All right, where are everyone else's photos? I am sorry if I missed any, I started at page 28, I think, and there are 74 pages to this thread (and I still have to finish grading tests tonight!)

I would also like if everyone posted their excursions/times.

We're doing the 12:00 Noon Stingray City Snorkel Sailing excursion in GC
and XCaret in Cozumel, 9:00 a.m.
We're also going to do the "tastings".

Molli, can you please explain to me again how you "link up" dining?

I know the girls have been chatting on the Kids Cruising link
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1346123&page=14
and I bet they would like to see each other during dinner.

We are hoping that our entire party will have the same servers. On our last cruise, four of the families we were cruising with (us included) were able to share tables - kids at one table, adults at the other. The servers set it up that way for us, we didn't even ask :) That's what the adults in our party are hoping for...But if we can all have the same rotation, that would be fun...

Okay, start posting your photos, Those Who Lurk!

For putting the pictures in one place. I was going to go through the boards and cut and paste the pictures so I could look at them to memorize who is who.

Excursions:
CC Banana Boat Ride 2:30
Cozumel - Horseback Riding 10:15
Grand Cayman Island Tour 11:30 ( goes to Hell and Turtle Farm)

Goodness Gratious - almost the month of APRIL !!!!:cheer2:

Amy & Corryn, I LOVE the photos. They are all fabulous. I peeked at them last night, and when we got to Amy's family photo I had to laugh, because we have some of the shirts like Chris is wearing. Disney shopping special last year, right? In fact, we have a few of them ready to pack up.

Our excursions:
4/24 Captain Marvins 10am - 1pm
4/25 Dune Buggy Tour 10am - 4pm
Castaway Cay banana boat (DH) 11am
We have parasailing booked also, but are still waiting to see if they will offer it or not.

Uhh, yep!! Actually, people at Chris' work ask him all the time if he owns any shirts that AREN'T Disney?!?!? :rotfl2:

Our excursions:
4/24 Captain Marvins 8:30-11:30am

We didn't book many excursions, but in Key West we do plan to go to the Butterfly Conservatory and the Southernmost Point, and maybe the Aquarium if we have the time. Oh, and for those that are able, the view from the top of the Key West Lighthouse is really cool!!!

We don't have any plans for Cozumel. We've been there before, and since the kids are young, we don't have a lot of options. So, I think that we might just get off for a bit to do some shopping. Then, head back to the ship for swimming.

Grand Cayman - DD & I are doing the Captain Marvin's Excursion @ 8:30. DH & DS are going diving with Divers Down.

Cozumel - DD and I are going to Paradise Beach, DH & DS diving w/Eagle Ray Divers

Key West - walk around, kino's store, w/e the kids want to do - DH & I have been there before.

CC - DH & DD parasailed the last time we were there - they were the on the first excursion of the day. All of the excursions after the one they were on were cancelled - too windy. This time I have the jet ski excursion booked and the banana boat. I'm not sure if I am going to keep the reservations or not. We will finalize everything the week before we go.

I'm at work so I'm unable to post pictures. I work in a school (very strict guidelines). :rolleyes1 I'll look around for a picture when I get home today.

Ok need some help here, trying to figure out how to add a picture. I have it opened in Microsoft Photo Editor and then I try to copy and paste, but it will not let me paste. Help...what am i doing wrong? :confused3

You need to upload your photo to a photo hosting site (I use www.photobucket.com). Then, after it's uploaded, you can add the photo to the DIS.

Amanda did a great step-by-step tutorial :teacher: way back around page 27 or so for using photobucket. That's how I learned. :thumbsup2 Apparently I do know how to follow directions!

Whew! What a week I've had so far. Lots of work and stuff to do and no time for stalking. Until now! I have been lurking, though. I've kept a list of topics to comment on so I didn't have to go back and read everything from this week. I probably should, though. In skimming, I'm sure I've missed some stuff.

For those that have young kids, I have thought of a (hopefully) good and cheap entertainment for the plane rides. The boys were on Nick Jr. & Noggin websites, and although I haven't had time to check them out completely yet, I saw an area that had "car games" listed. They had different activity sheets you could print out. I'm going to pick some from their favorite shows and make a book out of them. I had looked at buying activity books, but some had a lot of stuff that were not interesting to my kids. This way, I can pick and choose what I know they will like. And it's free! (Except for maybe a folder or binder of some sort to make it seem "real."). I think wrapping it would make it more exciting, too (as someone had wonderfully suggested earlier on).

I'm loving all the pics, guys! Gimme more! :rotfl: I showed some to DH and asked if he wanted to learn names and faces. He said he would wait until meeting everyone in person. (Then he'll keep asking me over and over, "Now what are their names again?" :lmao:) Corryn, I forgot about your large traveling party. I haven't memorized their names/faces yet. I better get started on that! I seem to only be focusing on the people who are actually posting here! And I've noticed some people are on Molli's list but have no pictures posted, and others have pictures posted but are not on the list. There are some families where we don't know any names. :confused3

So who else is freaked by the bed bugs? I am (or was). It took me awhile last night to read the entire thread, after which I was getting the heebie jeebies (I have a severe phobia of anything creepy & crawly & flying & buzzing...). DH asked if I wanted to cancel. :scared1: (Kind of but not really.) Then I kept reading other threads about happy things, and all my worries went away. :woohoo: I'm just glad I've got my room # and know it's not that room!

So (again) what's up with Idol? Yeah, Chris S. struggled on Tues, but he's still so much better than you-know-who. I can't believe Sanjaya wasn't even in the bottom three! Ugh. I think we're just going to have to get used to seeing him around, but unfortunately, the better talents are then getting sent home. :sad2:

Here's our plans so far for excursions (not much):
KW--probably aquarium and some shopping (if the boys will allow it).
GC--8:30 AM Captain Marvin's Stingray City (with Amy & koby ). Probably nothing else in port the rest of the day. We may just go back and have lunch and swim on the ship. Who knows.
Coz--nothing planned. Age limits are restricting us quite a bit. I had thought about a beach, but they all require a taxi (scary, I've heard) and with no car seats, that's even more scary to me. Plus I don't want to be "beached out" before CC. I think a glass bottom boat or semi-submarine would be interesting, too, but from what I'm reading in PassPorter, it sounds like GC is a better place for those.
CC--hopefully snorkeling at Serentiy Bay while the boys are at Scuttles Cove. Then probably head over to the family beach. We don't have anything specific planned here either.

Well, that's all on my list. I'm going to go back and re-read some. And stalk, too. ;)

Excursions --

Key West -- nothing booked. Will probably go to southernmost point, and then have some chocolate-dipped key lime pie. :goodvibes

Cozumel - Royal Dolphin Swim @ 12:00 p.m.

Grand Cayman - Stingray Excursion with Moby Dick

Castaway Cay - Teens are doing Wildside. Vallen and I are doing a cabana massage (the highlight of our last trip) -- Then time on the family beach!!!!

:lmao: Sounds a lot like my DH. We were looking through the photos, I was telling him who each one was. Then I started pulling up photos of the ship and you know what he said? "I won't worry about those, I'd rather be surprised" What?!!? Guess we know who the obsessive one is in our family. :rotfl:

I doubt I'll remember everyone at the very beginning, but I surely will try. I knew a guy who was in the public eye a lot, and to everyone he'd say "Hey there Bud, how are you?" That's because he really didn't know their name! Good way to hide it though.

If I could find more photos of us, I'd post them....but I have tons of Emily, and quite a few of her & DH together. But I'm always behind the camera. The only reason we had one to put on here was because I held the camera at arm's length and snapped the photo, hoping for the best. :)

Oh Amy, my Emily really enjoyed seeing your Emily. She got all wide eyed and said "What is she drinking?" I think she'll probably want a few of those Shirley Temples too. Her real fascination though was the Princess story time. She just stared & stared at that photo - I think it was just amazing to her they were "real" To myself I thought "just wait a few more weeks, you'll see!" princess:

I had a feeling your DH would be the same way! :rotfl2: Mine isn't too interested in seeing it beforehand either. I think he's seen the DCL planning DVD way too many times (thanks to the boys) and is just ready to experience it for real. He hasn't even taken the time to watch the Travel Channel DCL show and Cruising Do's and Don'ts yet.

Yeah, and we're still waiting to see your new color, too! :rolleyes1

Yeah, and we're still waiting to see your new color, too! :rolleyes1

:lmao: You know what? I took a dozen photos this weekend trying to capture the color. Outside, inside, direct sunlight, etc. I just could not seem to get it right. But again, it's not bright red or anything, so I guess that's why. If I posted any from this weekend, everyone would say "I don't see any red!" Seriously! I did try, but just couldn't get the right picture.

We have the DVD, and watched in once. Saw the Travel Channel special once also. I think DH has read maybe 20 pages of the Passporter, then he put it down. Oh well - he wants surprise, and he's going to get it! But me, well, I'd rather have a general idea of what's going on atleast. The only thing he did mention was when I was looking at Amy's door signs, and he said "What are those for?" and I explained it. He said "You made us some, right?" Oh yeah! You better believe it.

Since I have no new ones, here's a few more taken the same day we did the photo for this thread. (This was before the Nikon!)

DH's birthday cake I created:

One of the door signs - still need to upload the rest!

At least your DH has attempted to read the PassPorter. Not mine. I've pretty much taken over the entire job of planning this vacation because if it were up to him, we wouldn't know a thing! (He works way too much and just doesn't have the time.) Actually, one of his business partners is doing DCL in June. DH doesn't know any details, but it must be a 3- or 4-night since I know they're not going to the Med. They're not real talkative about it, though (kind of private people). Anyway, I'm sure they've done NO research into anything and will just show up very uninformed. I told DH to tell him about DIS, but he said he knew he wouldn't be interested in it. I asked him if they're "comparing notes," and he said, "No way! He doesn't want me telling him how to have his vacation!" They're apparently only going to do buffet every night and not even go into the restaurants at all! :scared1: The only way DH found out they were even going is because they booked around the same time we did in January and one of the other partners knew and told DH! They didn't even go through AAA to get their OBC special during January (like we did)! They used a small, private TA instead. Some people!

Now about the door signs, I tried not to let DH see those pictures that Amy posted because I know he would say, "We aren't going to have any of those, are we?" I'm not even mentioning them to him. It'll be a surprise...even if he doesn't like them.

AMANDA, I LOVE THE CAKE! IT'S GREAT! You're so talented. I'd never be able to do that!

And the sign is great, too! I love the "heart font." (I'm a heart lover.)
