I'm almost afraid to ask....but a snake??!?? I just got the heebie jeebies from reading that. :scared: Please say it's a teeny tiny harmless little one. :rotfl2:

So for a newbie here what comes with your DCL docs? Just wondering what I'm looking forward to getting.
Your documents will usually come by UPS or FedEx and they'll have your Bahamain immagration forms that you need to fill out one per person, then a document booklet that you only need to fill out if you didn't do it online. Plus, it'll have your luggage tages in it. Not too much, but it's exciting because you know that the cruise is almost here.

Also I was wondering if any of you guys usually bring your own Water or soda(I'm a big Diet Pepsi drinker, I would be looking to bring some on a deserted island too)on board and if you do how do you do this? I did hear that you can purchase a case of water on board has anyone done that?
We don't usually bring drinks onboard with us, since we think that the water is fine, and we're Coke/Diet Coke drinkers. But, many people do bring it onboard. The other option is to pick it up in Key West, so you don't have to lug it with you with all of your stuff onboard (because you shouldn't check liquids, imagine what it could do to your luggage if something leaks).

After seeing that some of you were getting your cabin #'s and paperwork I went on DCL website to check to see what was left and they only have a one Cat 4 cabin showing up and they say you can still book GTY for a Cat 4 too, so that would mean we are all booked up right?
Well, are you trying for 4 people? I did it for 4 and came up with only cat 4. But, if you try for 2 or 3, you can still see several categories, it's just that they're almost all gty.

I'm not one for snakes either, Amanda!!! My DH finds them in the yard sometimes, just harmless little black snakes, but still, I don't want to see them. He'll usually catch them and show them to the girls, who of course are fascinated by them. YUCK!!!

Its a Black and yellow King snake and he is harmless and he is longer then my arm as of right now. She just loves him takes him out of his cage and carries him around my boys just love seeing the snake too, me on the other hand would just asume he go out side or back to school with her..Thats my most favorite part of her returning to school the snake and animals go with her.

Thanks for the info on the documents now I at least know what I'm looking forward too.

Yes Amy, you are right I only checked out 4 people wasn't thinking of looking at a smaller party, but still even with that we are really booked aren't we? I think I checked a week or so ago and there was still a lot available.

I don't think I was going to check any water/soda as check in luggage because my luck it would explode and everything would be a mess. I guess I will have to think about it and figure it out, I have 25 days right?

Cheryl

Yeah, it's definitely a pretty booked cruise.

I don't know how much Diet Pepsi you drink during a day, but maybe you could bring a 6-pack for the first day, then head over to CVS on Key West and pick up another 12-pack (or more) to get your Diet Pepsi fix!!!:thumbsup2

:scared: Eeeeew. I know, harmless snake, but sheesh, just thinking about it makes my skin crawl. Guess it's because last year we had a snake incident.
(If you're squeamish, do not read any further!!!)

My BIL came & buried some pipe at the edge of our property last summer. DH was out there showing him where to dig, etc. The basement door was open, since DH was running in & out of the house. (You know where this is going don't you?) DD & I were upstairs talking to my parents who were visiting. Later that night, DD was getting ready for bed, DH was in another room. I opened the door to our bathroom, ready to get something out of the closet, and looked in the corner of the room, and there was a black snake in there. Yes, in my house. I came out, yelled loudly for DH, and halfway kept the door shut in case that critter decided to move. DH came running, said he never heard me talk in that tone before, but when he saw why, he was like this  We had to choice but dispose of it. After all was said & done we cleaned the entire bathroom twice. The next day DH measured that snake and it was between 5-6 feet long. So, yes, I have issues with snakes. Now you know why. It took me a month to ever get over the snake in the house ordeal, every night I'd make DH check under the beds, closets, everywhere, before I'd go in our room!

Ok, that would freak me out too, Amanda!!

Funny story about snakes that happened to my neighbor!!! I get this knock on my door pretty late at night, around 10pm and it's my neighbor from across the street. She asks if Chris is here, but he was working late that night. Anyway, she proceeds to tell me that her husband was in the shower and all of a sudden, a black snake started coming up the drain. :scared1: He moved SO quickly that he hurt his back and wanted Chris's help to get it out!!! I guess that he got it on his own, but could you imagine seeing a snake IN your shower, while you're in it!!!:scared:

 :scared1: :crazy2: :faint:

I HATE SNAKES! When I was pregnant with Lennon, I saw one and screamed so loud that my neighbor thought I was going into labor! :lmao: I also know of someone that had so many snakes in their basement that they had to BURN THE HOUSE DOWN just to get rid of them! Gross!

Enough creepy-crawly stories for me! I'm get goosebumps from them! Anyway, gotta go work. I need a vacation! :rotfl:

1. Do you have any pets? If so, what? how many? names?

My DS7 has 4 fish.

2. What's the one place that you've never been, but want to go?

Anywhere I haven't been. Love to travel.

3. What's your favorite sport to watch or play?

All of them. I have been pretty privileged in life to get to see some amazing sporting events. Most recently was watching in person my beloved Tigers beat the Yankees in the 2006 ALDS. Being a Michigan football fan I can relate to finding humor in Yankee hating. Oh, and the UNH short handed goal against Miami in the 3rd period was AMAZING.

4. If you were on a deserted island, what one thing would you want with you?

Gotta agree with the sat phone suggestion posted earlier.

5. What kind of car do you drive? What color?
White Saturn and when you meet me keep that in mind ( I'm 6' 8" ).

So guys I didn't think my daughters "pet" would give everyone goose bumps, sorry about that but I know what you mean luckly this snake stays in his cage and only comes out when she takes him out or my son does. My Daughter loves the thing and carries it around the house in her sweatshirt hood or he's in her pocket if I'm not paying attention I sometimes jump when I see him on her.

Amy I drink a lot of Diet Pepsi but can cut down when I have to and drink Diet coke or something else, but I still think I will bring some so I can have at least 1 a day, I may do what you suggested sounds like a plan.

Another question at the soda/drink station on Deck " "(what deck is it on again?) do they have papercups with lids, regular cups or nothing? Just wondering if we need to bring our own? Or if we should bring our own?

Keep asking away, we're happy to help!! Anyway, they do have styrofoam cups with lids and straws. I think that they're about 12-16oz cups. Can't remember exactly, but they're average sized cups.

Ok, I'm officially stalking again today!!! :rotfl2:

My girls are on spring break this week, and they're already driving me crazy, so the DIS is my refuge!!!

I did buy some Crayola Color Wonder Princess, Cars and Pooh books and markers for dinner on the cruise. I figure I'll keep them all packaged up until the cruise, so they are something different that the girls haven't seen yet.

Plus, I need to call Shirley at the Perfect Gift to order birthday baskets for my DH and DD.

thanks for the info. I'm sure I'll come up with some more questions before its time to leave.thanks for the help

That reminds me of a funny story. I was going into one of my doctors' offices picking up my work for the day, and outside was a very small car with the license plates saying "YESIFIT." I walked in and there was a really tall guy (probably your size) sitting in the waiting room. I just assumed it was his. :lmao:

:lmao: We have some Cinderella ones waiting in the suitcase also. Whoever came up with the Color Wonder stuff is a genius! We found some clearanced rainbow & neon ones last week. DD loved the stencils they provided, since all she had to do was scribble inside, and it made a "real" picture. I do need to head to the dollar tree and browse for more small stuff for the plane though. Still haven't done that yet.
